    Being 74. Loving your channels…let me ask.. will the Mega 2 work for 13 cu ft freezer…. I’m not good at all with watts etc…. Freezer says it’s 424 kWh per yr. Need to find cost effective unit for any issues.. thank you ❣️

      Appreciate the kind words! 👍
      Your freezer per your data will average 1.16kWh or 1160Watt hours daily. Easy for the Oupes or any other midrange 2kW or 2000Watt hour machine to run for 24hours. I hope this helps, I’ll definitely keep your questions in mind and cover it in more detail soon!

    Is this the best unit on the market right now for RV setups like in the video? I like the form factor over the EcoFlow. What about the Pecron? Is this better?

    • @THEOFFGRIDMOUNTAINHOMESTEAD
      @THEOFFGRIDMOUNTAINHOMESTEAD  4 месяца назад +3

      I haven’t tested EcoFlow or Pecron so I cannot comment on their performance.
      I have several other power stations Zendure, Bluetti, Allpowers, FFPower, Oukitel. The Mega 2 is my favorite out of these units.
      Sorry I couldn’t elaborate more on the brands you asked about.

      Do you have an IG or something that I can message you and have you help me with? I have a link to a drop in product that I want to build so I don't have to pay the price they are charging pre-built. Basically a shopping list of sorts.

      Unfortunately I’m unable to assist with personal consultations/builds at this time! Were you wanting to go DIY solar generator build?
      You have an RV right? As in camper/motor home?
      Build that baby out into a mobile micro grid!
      I’ll be doing an update video on my RV/Guest Quarters soon. LMK what you need help on and I’ll tailor the video to your needs! Hope this helps!

      No worries. I came across a drop in solution for my Sprinter but of course the markup on the pricing is predatory so I was hoping you could assist me with what components I need to purchase so I can recreate it. Thank you

    Does Oupes have a right angle plug so it saves space when plugging a battery pack into the Mega 2?

    • @THEOFFGRIDMOUNTAINHOMESTEAD
      @THEOFFGRIDMOUNTAINHOMESTEAD  4 месяца назад +1

      Unfortunately Oupes uses the straight connector AFAIK. Similar to Bluetti style. So it’s got the big wire loop. 🫤

    It would be okay to buy A.Refurbished one I'm looking at mega 3

    • @THEOFFGRIDMOUNTAINHOMESTEAD
      @THEOFFGRIDMOUNTAINHOMESTEAD  2 месяца назад +1

      If it’s a factory refurbished unit direct from Oupes website/Oupes Amazon store, I don’t see any reason not to if the savings are there for you.
      If it’s a 3rd party reseller from eBay or something, I’d be more cautious. Hope this helps!

    I messed up and bought a Velit 12VDC that is rated 20-60A and my Mega 3 is rated 30A DC. Is there a work around to pull more amps? Can i add an external 100ah Lipo or something? Will the Oupes charge the Lipo?

    • @THEOFFGRIDMOUNTAINHOMESTEAD
      @THEOFFGRIDMOUNTAINHOMESTEAD  19 дней назад +2

      Unfortunately no work around the 30A limit on the DC side! It’s got a buck converter inside due to Oupes battery being 51.2V.
      You probably would want a dedicated battery or batteries for the Rooftop AC.
      Regulated DC output from the Oupes wouldn’t meaningfully charge a battery.
      hope this helps

    These Oupes mega units seem really nice. The biggest drawback is no 220v output capability in the 3k or 5k machine.

      @THEOFFGRIDMOUNTAINHOMESTEAD look forward to the upcoming test. Of course I was thinking about how fast it would use up the battery. But like you said the expansion batteries would help with that.

    Could you put a power inverter 12v DC to 110 AC into the B2 smart battery ? Then you would be able to use the battery for 110 AC. If so , would a 400 watt inverter be the right size? Thank you I'm very new to this.

    • @THEOFFGRIDMOUNTAINHOMESTEAD
      @THEOFFGRIDMOUNTAINHOMESTEAD  4 месяца назад +1

      Negative. Please don’t do that!!
      The B2 expansion battery for this unit is 51.2V (48V) BAD stuff would happen!
      Are you looking to power a 12V inverter? If so check some of my battery videos out. Lots of sub $200 batteries out there that will work with your inverter and not cause any harm! Hope this helps!

    Run the AC while bringing in 480 W of solar. I have four of the 240 W ground panels from OUPES. To see what your test achieves and if the solar panels can offset significantly the draw of the running air conditioner on the battery. So if you can bring in at least 350 to 400 W to offset 1200 to 1500 W I’m curious what those numbers look like. Thanks.

    • @THEOFFGRIDMOUNTAINHOMESTEAD
      @THEOFFGRIDMOUNTAINHOMESTEAD  4 месяца назад +3

      Definitely would extend run time during the day between compressor run cycles.
      Night is the challenge with small capacity.
      RV AC unit will easily burn through 6-8kWh worth of battery overnight if hot outside!!!

    • @reedclayton6321
      @reedclayton6321 4 месяца назад +1

      How much power would be saved if you had a soft start in the AC?

    • @THEOFFGRIDMOUNTAINHOMESTEAD
      @THEOFFGRIDMOUNTAINHOMESTEAD  4 месяца назад +1

      Negligible amount. That’s only in play for less than a second. RV rooftops are just very inefficient. Just the blower on low speed pulls 250 Watts. X 10 hours of night that’s 2.5kWh just for the blower.

    • @deebescootin

      @@THEOFFGRIDMOUNTAINHOMESTEAD the Anker is 2048 Wh 2400W. The mega 2 is $300 cheaper right now compared to the Anker. Anker also comes with 5 year warranty. I might just go with the mega 2 if you recommend it.. I'll take your word for it 😂🙏🏾
