The Oakland A's have always been my favorite professional sports franchise even with the Warriors success in recent years. This was easily the best game I have been to. The crowd was electric, and it felt like a playoff game not against the Rays but the ownership. I loved the atmosphere, and it reminded me why I love this franchise so much (aside from John Fisher and Dave Kaval). The passion and love that us A's fans have for the A's. Thank you Brodie for you coverage and time on these segments, and this relocation circus show that Fisher and Rob Manfred is giving us

Really honestly feel for you guys. Can’t imagine losing your team. I’m so sorry for ya. You guys had some great great players and super fun seasons. Ouch, this is like a death in the baseball family. And all this is coming from a Red Sox fan. Really really hurting for you guys over there

Coming from Sacramento, it sucks. I just went through all this with the Kings, now the A's. We had a similar "reverse boycott" night, a "Here we stay" night. Its crazy how similar all the same issues with ownership and attendance is. I remember hearing that the move to Seattle was at first and goal to finish. But we stayed, hopefully the same for the A's.

As a Las Vegas resident, that recently lived in the bay, I hope the Athletics stay in Oakland. Oakland deserves a team. The team deserves a better owner. And the fans deserve a new stadium to root for their team. Las Vegans could care less about the A’s moving into town.

A's fans are freaking awesome. At the 2:00 mark you see this gentleman screaming his heart out holding in his arm a beautiful little Chihuahua mix pup. You guys deserve to keep the team. Trade the Fisher to Vegas for some passes to the see the Blue Man Group or something.

Does moving to Las Vegas going to change anything?
Sure it might attract people in Las Vegas for first few years, but what about after that?
If fisher intends to not use any money for the team, the situation isn’t going to change at all. No one wants to be a fan of a baseball team that disassembles every two years or so

Even if we get a miracle for Howard Terminal or frankly, anywhere in the Bay at this point, I still plan to take every last chance I have to enjoy the Coliseum. It’s always been about way more than baseball. The Coliseum is an institution that honors the heritage of East Bay people and demonstrates Alameda County’s support of those people. The heart of the Bay.
I’ve scored some major deals on great seats so I’m not worried about Fisher benefitting. He’s not going to steak what we have left. I’m there for the employees and the team and my own heart. We’re the owner, HE is the tenant!!!

I’m not an A’s fan, and this got me wishy washy. That’s painful for a town that needs and deserves a competitive baseball team. I would be wearing green and gold along with them! Good for the fan base. That’s incredible.

  • @superunknown831

Another thing to point out is that the traffic to get to the coliseum was literally at a dead stop. I know this because I was in that traffic. Traffic full of a’s fans. I had to squeeze by, find parking far from the game, and run to the stadium with 4 other friends just to be able to make it to the end of the 5th inning. Many turned around knowing there was no hope in finding parking. Workers were also overwhelmed at the gates and were doing the best they could to let fans in even with only a couple innings left. I would imagine this game would have sold out if it wasn’t for the event also happening at oracle which caused a lot of traffic along side a reverse boycott. I drove two hours immediately after work to get there because there was no way us a’s fans are going down without a fight.

Traffic was impossible. People were still stuck in their car throughout the game. Others were closer to the stadium but had nowhere to park.
This also happened at Kentucky Speedway in 2001 and many people were still not at their exit ramp by the time the race was in the final stretch.

Interesting how the A's all of a sudden had a hot streak just as the Nevada legislature was considering the welfare package. Coincidently, that streak ended soon after Nevada approved the bill authorizing the stadium to be built. Coincidence, or planned?
