I agree with you on the IQTS and the PB. Both of those go with me to tournaments. My P3 used to go with me always, but recently I have replaced it with the Zen in my tournament bag.
So I’ve always been a Storm guy, and I still am… but I finally just had to get a Purple Hammer drilled and I now see why people love (and hate lol) that ball. I threw it on a 45ft pattern and it looked amazing… then I threw it on a 37ft pattern from basically the same part of the lane and it still looked amazing lol
Just got a Phaze 2 today. On tournament patterns, a lot of the other stuff that might be stronger or more hooking or sharper, etc. will make you question if you can even bowl. Got 2nd to last last weekend on Athens 40ft with a 155 avg trying to use a UFO. Hard to convince the bowlers I was on the pair on that I'm a 200+ avg league bowler LOL! The Pitch Black was consistent in going straight down the 10 board LOL.
I recently got my first IQts. I've thrown storm for years and never had one. I now understand why it's been around for so long. It's incredible and will probably be a staple in my bag going forward.
The ball I bring to all tournaments is my spare-ball :) ... IQ-TS and/or P2 are also stable in my bag. the next ball is the hy-road pearl with a weaker layout ... Spareball, IQ-TS, Hy-Road Pearl are in my every-time tote-bag. the second bag is pattern spezific.
Man, I just haven't had a great time with the Phaze 2. I like what it does when I throw it good. I've been struggling with inconsistent equipment feel. I only have one ball that feels great coming off the hand, and the rest are just off 😥.
So i finally got my Rubicon the first one and all I can say is WOW perfect ball for me very versatile for my game when it was being to much I switched to my halo pearl and threw the same line and its like throwing the same ball same line just goes a little longer! Perfect 1 2 combo would highly recommend Rubicon and halo pearl I also have a reality in bag (big asym) A storm crux (my personal favorite storm ball)

Hey Luis? I'd like to get your advise on an arsenal for Nationals 2022. I am a high rev bowler with ball speed between 15.5 to 16.0 mph. Here's what my line up so far looks like. I plan on. Ring six balls... 1. Black widow urethane 2. Black widow pink urethane 3. Pitch black 4. Plastic spare ball 5. Phaze II I need one more ball to finish the line up. I currently have the Zen, IQTour solid, hammer web tour, idol pearl, idol pro and the black widow 2.0. What balls do you recommend I should take considering the conditions of the 2022 USBC teams and doubles and singles shot? I'm really undecided on what will be my sixth ball? Because of my lack of revs, urethane really isnt in the cards too often. For years, I had an IQ Fusion in the bag because that core is just 💰. My tournament bag is currently Nova/Parallax Effect/Phaze II/Zen/Hustle PBR and a spare ball, though I'm seriously considering a Tour Solid in place of the PBR.
Agree. On longer patterns with closer to 3:1 or 2:1 ratios, urethane might as well replace your plastic spare ball. It's not moving much and will be covered in oil flares each shot.
Phaze 2 zen IQ tour I bring with no matter what. Pitch black is also my spare ball so that is always in the bag. Just drilled up a hustle camo going to test it out tonight at league

Have you had a chance to throw the Hustle PBR? From what I can tell it seems like the cover is stronger than the !QTS - core numbers are similar though.

Everyone knows the IQTOUR solid is the quintessential benchmark ball, but as you stated and demonstrated, because of its cover and lower diff, it actually reacts more to the end of the pattern than the Phaze II and the Gem, which could trick a bowler i to thinking that they need to ball even further down from the Iqtour, when the probable reality is that they need to ball up to either the Phaze II or the Gem. So which one do you start with? Would you test the waters with the IQTOUR first and later on, move in and go back to it if the others are either laboring or hooking too much too late?

I had been using a nova this whole season of league and my average was 203. I’ve been using my phaze II for a month now and my average with this ball is almost 230. It’s just better.
What's with the iq always looking sea blue in pictures from Storm, but in reality it's a deep dark blue? Love that ball, though. And honestly, anyone comparing a brand new Phaze II to anything is a bit misleading I think at this point. Everybody's P2 is gonna have lane shine because it's used so damn much! Also, I was wondering what your opinion is on the IQ Nano Pearl being a control and benchmark style ball, compared to the original solid? I have the former, and have been wondering if getting the OG solid would be a good idea for a ball down. Or, are they in separate categories? NRG is quite a bit stronger than R2S as far as I'm aware.
My must haves are a Phaze II and a Venom Shock. Might replace the VS with an iQ tour when it finally dies but im on my second VS and it just gets more controllable with more games on it and refuses to die.

@@LuisNapoles That is what I thought. I have old and new Purples and virtually every urethane ball released in the modern era as well as several vintage urethane balls and I have actually shot my highest all time game and most strikes in a row with my Pitch Black!
So, the mandatory balls I bring are in my pants! lol kidding... I have a new obsession tour pearl that I use for league night and am curently looking at adding another option for when the lanes break down. It's a little too much at the end of the evening once the lanes have broken down. The pearl is really good on the fresh though.

I was feeling the the IQTS made the P2 a redundant piece. What are the biggest differences because it looks like the ball motion is very close.
P2 has a lot more traction. It's such a calm controlled shape that it doesn't show much contrast but its there.
Very VERY similar motions but the ohaze2 is a stronger ball so it’ll be able to handle more oil that that tour solid can’t

If you need the stronger one of the two get the P2 but I prefer the !QTS

They should yes as long as you’re not over throwing it or throwing to slow because of the weight
