Im curious why you say that Vogue tires are of questionable quality? Honestly this is the first time ive heard someone say that. I haven’t personally had a set before but i was interested in getting some for my 97 SLS.
For all you clueless people out there the Northstar engine was the beginning of the end for Cadillac starting in 1991 with the Seville. The Cadillac fans lost confidence in Cadillac marking and end to a era. GOOGLE IT AND ASK ANY MECHANIC. The engine is good for about 100,000 miles if your lucky.
If you don't know that the Northstar was significantly overhauled for the 2004/05 model-year with better materials and build quality, then you may be unqualified to make this suggestion.
For me the last Cadillac was the 1996 Fleetwood. No self respecting car is FWD. I have owned 6 NorthStar V8s, one being a 2001 Eldorado. (4 were 1998-99 Auroras and one was a 1996 Deville) I really like the performance of the Northstar. But two things i do NOT like about them: 1. They tend to leak oil from the two piece oil pan (all GM needed to do is use better quality gaskets). and MORE of a problem: 2. The threads in the block holding the head bolts would fatigue or corrode allowing the head gaskets to rupture. All GM needed to do is use steel inserts for the block threads. And in all the years they offered this engine (1992- 2011) they came up with band-aid solutions, but never did what it would take to eliminate either of these two problems.
I love the Northstar engine & all bugs were worked out by 2005 when they started putting Corvette head bolts on the block~ 2005-2011 Northstars are bulletproof~ before that, i'm sorry but they were not. I wish Cadillac would have run the 5.7 on everything from the early 80's forward & just kept improving the 5.7~ we would have thousands of amazing Cadillacs on the road that that whole 4.1-4.9 dreadful period in the 80s would never have happened.
Sorry... Being under age 60, the whitewalls are a deal breaker for me. I’d be interested, but not at that price if I have to immediately replace the generic tires with BSW Michelins.
Whatever !! As if you are anywhere near serious about buying it. If you really wanted it, the whitewalls would not be an issue and you would replace them anyhow. So sick of Anthony's nay-sayers. Move on !!
You are right about it being the last V8 powered Cadillac sedan until Cadillac CT6. XTS was a let down. CT6 is nice. There are four things I do not like about this DTS: The headlight design, what is under the hood, the location of the seat controls and no digital gauge cluster. It is interesting that body ran as long as it did. The earlier ones had the right cluster and right headlight design. I will admit this car does have a lot of nice features too.

Long day!
@Nick J What? What?
Beautifull car very nice
I just bought a 2009 with 31 thousand miles
Move on !!
SEATBELT! 😉
Super car
i have an 08. that thing is fucking gorgeous
sublime le top
You are right about it being the last V8 powered Cadillac sedan until Cadillac CT6. XTS was a let down. CT6 is nice. There are four things I do not like about this DTS: The headlight design, what is under the hood, the location of the seat controls and no digital gauge cluster. It is interesting that body ran as long as it did. The earlier ones had the right cluster and right headlight design. I will admit this car does have a lot of nice features too.
