Great video! I wouldn't have known the different things to do with couching until I saw this. These 'watch & learn' videos are really good, thanks Handi Quilter, Johnny and Kristina!!!!
Loved the video - a great review of some of the things we learned in your Longarm Basics class. I want to apply everything we learned before I go to the next class. Thanks for the great tutorial!
Nice video on couching. Maybe a loose pile instead of a puddle? I do like that chenille yarn, would have been nice to show a different yarn size and those start and stop techniques with a different size foot with it’s correct yarn size. Thanks. I don’t have this machine but I do like the edge effect for stained glass and covering raw edge appliqués. I’ve tried the 1/4” black press on tape for the stained glass technique which is very pretty but also time consuming, while not hard it’s a slow method. This looks faster but until I try it out I’m not sure it will really be much faster for me either and requires a new foot or foot set. Wonder if existing feet can be used to give it a try or what is special about the couching foot that makes it necessary to buy that foot? Anyway thanks for the video!
So much stress in the world; I love how this video just makes me feel calm. I can't wait to try couching on my Moxie, but I need to get the basics down first :-)
I love your show, learning a great deal. A request for additional information as you talk please. The number of stitches per inch and the mode (cruise, manual etc) would be most useful. As a new person to long arm work and ha in started in lock down these mode uses are a mystery to me
Great video, but I didn’t hear how many stitches per inch I should set? Also, when using ProStitcher, how slow should I set the machine to run when couching? Thanks!!
@@HandiQuilter thank you so very much for the details on the other video you made! It answered ALL my questions and I have made 3 couching quilts in the past 2 months. One was Christina Whitney's scrappy couched quilt. Absolutely my favorite one! Thank you for all the videos y'all have made. I taught myself how to use my new long arm in the past year by watching you tube videos. No classes just RUclips so I owe it ALL to you and others, but you are absolutely my favorite! 🥰
@@pamelaory Yes, it will. Usually you won't really notice the extra layer. However, if you have a design that stitches over the same spot repeatedly, then you might notice more of a build up of the yarn.

Glad it was helpful!
Great to see that the pros have oops too and how to fix them! Thanks y’all!
You bet! We totally did that on purpose! :P
Thank you for another great demonstration. So helpful to know what types of yarns NOT to use. I'd like to try it.
You are so welcome!
A great video - you answered a lot of my questions and solved my problems couching! Thank you!
Glad it helped!
Thank you for posting this video and for all that you do!
More to come! Thank you!
I thought couching was sitting on the couch and hand quilting. I live and learn.
Thanks for sharing so much fun
Glad you enjoyed it

Great tutorial!!
Thank you!
You inspired me, I just ordered some yarn to use with the couching foot.
Thank you!
Great video. Can’t wait to get started on a couching project!!
You got this!

Loved the video. What is the proper PSP speed for couching?
It really depends. Do a little practice and see what works best for your yarn.
thanks....less intimidating and will give couching a try!
You can do it!
Thank you for the video. Would love to see one using the rulers
You got it!
Do you mean couching with rulers?
@@HandiQuilter Yes couching with rulers.

What guidelines would you give for stitches per inch with various yarn weights? I just bought my feet but haven’t had time to play.
If I use a 10-12 spi normally, I would up it to 13-15 spi when couching. It kind of depends on my mood that day! (:
How do I determine what foot fits what yarn probably?
Here is another couching video that goes through that information.

I’m wondering about how to make sure my e2e design doesn’t have any back stitching in it as that would be a problem with couching correct?
Pamela, You can do overstitching with couching!!
@@kristinawhitneyhqstudioedu7013 , won’t it then tack down another layer of the yarn?
