Excellent video. Another hint for the needle, make it straight. I was told about a magnet to ensure the needle is straight.

I also do a total clean after finishing each quilt. However, I was always afraid to touch the encoders - now I know I can clean those, too - thanks!

I’ve had people tell me to remove the plate on the machine and clean the bobbin area out underneath there. Is this true?

I can't watch the rest of this. She needs to stop talking, i.e. interrupting him, talking over him, constantly yipping in the background with "mm hmm", "right", "yep", "OK". This happens on videos she does with other educators. I've had my Avante for many years and would enjoy Watch and Learn but this turns me off.

Perhaps you should have just quit watching without needing to make the rude comments. Enough of that ine the world right now.

You do have a point about timing.. In training when you explain something and plan to demonstrate it also you make sure the students get the time to actually see that demo. There were several times when this didn't happen as they moved onto the next item too quickly. The one that stands out is the cleaning the thread path and we didn't actually get to see what Johnny was planning to show re the tension discs. Doing demos can be nerve wreaking and on camera makes it even more so.
