0:42 Amazing. He thinks Ireland and England will be easier because they haven’t played any rugby and yet when he lost to Ireland in the Autumn internationals his excuse was that it was the end of a long season for NZ and Ireland were fresh! 😂😂😂
It shows the lack of respect they have for Northern Hemisphere teams. Ireland are without doubt the toughest team in the North right now and it'll be a big ask to beat them in Dublin.
John Kiwan, himself, never lost to Ireland. I cannot recall what reason he gave when explaining the last time NZ lost to Ireland. I suspect that it was that Ireland were simply the best team on the day though. It doesn’t mean he can’t be hopeful of winning the next match though.
As an Irishman I can tell you we are ready, besides the emotional aspect, the Leinster Team is basically Ireland so they are well warmed up and used to playing. Also Andy Farrell will be there, he doesnt leave until Dec 1st.
This is hilarious! I can’t wait to watch this again after the tour. Beating Ireland in Dublin, France in Paris and English in London. And acting like it’s nicely set up 😂😂😂😂😂
Wrong Andy Farrell is Not with the Lions until next year he’s wanting to use this autumn to play Australia so he will be very much there for Ireland most coaches leave the national side after the summer to concentrate on the Lions however Andy Farrell has made it clear he will step away after the Autumn internationals
I love the over confidence of these pundits, catch England and Ireland who haven't played and when they lose, it will be because NZ are at the end of the season and both England and Ireland are fresh. And the fact that they feel they have to catch England and Ireland while their rusty to win, speaks volumes. The reality being both the English players and Irish will have had 6 games under their belt from the premiership and the URC and Andy Farrell will very much be there for the November series.
Struggling to understand the basis for these predictions off the back of a poor rugby championship from NZ perspective - lost to Arg, SA twice and limped across Aus. Any other country would realise that to beat these teams at home is a very challenging task - maybe it’s the blind confidence that has been a factor in success over the years!
Andy Farrell will be the head coach for Ireland in the November series. He's not joining the Lions until next year. Already demonstrates this panel haven't done their homework on the Nations they're discussing which undermines everything else they say. But this is the usual panel deluded about how good the All Blacks are right now. Back in July they were trailing England in BOTH home tests until the last 20 minutes, including in their fortress of Eden Park, barely registering victories in the dying minutes. They then went and lost to a 7th ranked Argentina on home soil too and failed to register a victory in South Africa. Based on actual facts of their 2024 form compared to the form facts about their NH counterparts, rather than patriotic emotions, they'll struggle not only to beat France and Ireland at home (Ireland are on a 20-game winning streak in Dublin which includes multiple victories over a much stronger All Blacks side than the current one), but they'll really struggle to beat England if they struggled to beat them at Eden Park in New Zealand as England are a completely different beast in London and are only getting better as a team. This could be the worst series of defeats in their history. During the Rugby Championship season this same panel predicted they'd go to South Africa and register a clean sweep of victories but ended up registering 3 defeats in the competition. It's ironic when we hear of the Irish pundits being accused of being arrogant, but the NZ pundits take the cake.
French here. I am 100% behind the 20 minutes red card with a player coming off the bench. It's what JK said: you have to punish the player, not the spectators. Also, I am hoping that by speeding up the game, it makes it about endurance, and that the size of the players might shrink a bit. Next step would be to limit the number of substitutions, for injury or tactical reasons, down to 5.
❤not sure about winning all games. Ireland went to SA and beat them and ran them very close in the first game. Lose to England and it could be 3 losses .
Ireland will be tough. The URC are like mini internationals with all the different styles they have to play against. Top 14 is French style rugby, and the Premiership is kind of England style rugby, but not all the teams play that way.
These guys don’t seem to be aware of whats happening in European Rugby!! Leinster just played Munster in front of 80K plus fans at Croke park a few weeks ago. Since the Saffa’s joined the URC the standards and intensity is off the scale….they need to pay attention methinks.
No offence but it's not showing much confidence in NZL if the best case you can make for NZL against Ireland is essentially that Ireland wont be ready...
LOL Oh yep Andy is there alright. However we do have a lot of injuries right now,, our first and second hooker is gone and our third and fourth choice hooker aren't back from injury. The scrum is our weak point I would say. Other than that regardless our team will still be stronger than the one we sent to South Africa..SO welcome to Ireland. Can't wait. Oh forgot to say...Leinster are killing it right now 😁
Andy Farrell is announcing his Irish team tmw so he is still very much involved, and given that Leinster make up the bulk of the Irish team they are actually playing together most weeks, granted they have lost a couple of players in key positions however, especially hooker. But Dublin will be tough.. especially given a 6 day turn around.
I don't like the 20 minute red card rule, they really should just recalibrate what justifies a red card to just illegal play, ie not a technical penalty like a high tackle unless its clothesline) and then just enforce big fines for those technical fouls. There may be an issue legal docking someone a weeks salt but it would change actions pretty quick
Have to say as an Ireland fan, it's a big ask for NZ to win all of the big games, bound to be injuries along the way, Ireland are down to their 5th choice hooker, but a massive opportunity for someone, it wouldn't surprise me if the AB's lost all 3 NH games, but any of those games could go either way, my money is on an Ireland win.
To misrepresent why a lot of people oppose the "short" red card is a not unexpected eye-close. It is not because we think people will come out and hit people on the chin with mighty right hands. The real fear is that poor technique will not be addressed. Too many coaches have seemed unable to school players to tackle properly, and recklessness becomes excused: "He isn't that sort of player". French rugby has seen a large reduction in red cards since the head was ruled off-limits. Today's newspaper has an interview with Dave Ewels who has been sent off in his last two international appearances. He got a lot of stick from the crowd. He still doesn't tackle properly . He thinks the 20 minute red card is a great idea. For me, I see poor tackling as an existential threat in the hands of lawyers.
France. The only team in the North that eliminated them twice at the eorld cup and the team with most win in test matches. New Zealand suffers them more tgan anyone else I'd say
@@Trajan2401like the WC final? And a single match against the Boks in the RC? Or that game against Argentina in the RC? lol yeah you lads are really on fire right now 🔥
It comes across as such arrogance, especially in regards to Ireland. Ireland are clearly a better team than NZ and they’re at home. Same for France. Both should win. England ran them close and should have won at least one test in the summer, and most of our key players are bang in form, which makes that one a 50/50 for me. I’d say 1/3 is par and 0/3 is a distinct possibility for NZ out of those 3 games.
Don't think NZ will win the lot, even though the run suits them as mentioned. They have the wood on Eng. Ireland could be undercooked, and have injuries, so NZ have a big chance there - should be a banger. It's hard to know exactly where Fra are but I think that may be where they fail. Btw, as mentioned Faz is there - doesn't go to the Lions til Dec.
Saying France have NZs number is a very, very strange statement to make. They won the last 2 games; the pool game in the RWC and the 2021 November game. And they are the only 2 occasions in the last 15 years that they’ve beaten them. NZ have 12 wins over France in that time.
Lads you are deluded if you think Ireland are going to roll over. Plus the 20 min red card is stupid. A red card is for serious foul play end of! Get over the whole Sam Cane incident lads. 100% back France and Ireland in that regard
Pure strawman arguments from the Kiwis. Nobody said anything about lads punching and they know it. The issue is head contact and they want to change the law rather than change their tackle height like everyone else. Nobody raised objections to any other variant so again a pure strawman. If we don't sort concussion we won't have a game in twenty years.
God the arrogance on display here is cringe inducing. Five from five? Absolutely dreaming, this NZ team have been shite in almost every game this season, lost home and away, where is this confidence coming from? Well we know, they don't watch anything other than NZ rugby. If you win Japan Italy and one other they've done well. I like the Abs players and management but hope they get some hidings just to ruin the pundits Xmas
There is only 1 giant team in the world that is the ABs kryptonite - that is the ABs themselves!!!! They are their biggest enemy yet the dumbest team in the world 1) most ill-disciplined team - most penalties and most cards 2) That the ABs are deluded with this running game to which it has failed to beat the rush umbrella defence yet continue to pursue this style of game - WHY!!!!! 3) That their deluded running game is the game that puts them under massive pressure - NOT the opposition!
