I'm pretty sure she's awkward because she is an amateur journalist giving an interview to a semi-famous musician. As for the piece of paper, she probably just had interview questions written on it. It has nothing to do with being a "true fan".

I don't think she is genuinely interested to his music, she looks like she's lying when she says Moonsorrow happens to be one of her favorite bands. The way she speaks of the " feelings " for their music is fake and awkward rather than natural. Plus she needed a piece of paper to talk about all of that.. If you are a true fan, you wouldn't need to read out loud from a paper sheet.
