Little Lucca is a good treat for when you want a sandwhich.
You brought back memories of my childhood! I went to Balboa High School and we use to always go to Roxie! And that was YEARS ago since I graduated in 1986! I haven't been to Roxie's in awhile.. but my favorite is Submarine Center.. that's been consistent..

Little Lucca in ssf is hands down the best deli in the bay area and I stand on it. Been there for years and I been going there since a baby with the fam. Lines out the door literally all the time. That says something 💯💪🏼
I did not like little Lucca, their filling to bread ratio is bad Sure the sandwiches were big but felt like eating 70% bread could barely taste ingredients Not worth the wait on a busy day

Next time your in the Marina, hit up Marina Subs (Classic East Coast Style). Better than most places except don't tick off the sandwich maker;) It's my go-to East Coast style better than Sub Center. My best SF Style Dutch Crunch/Tiger Bread spot is McBaker's on Baker, sneaky good and big 49r fans.
Deli board is the best out of the bunch. Molinari in North Beach is also an honorable mention too.

Grew up right by Sub Center. Had it at least once a week. Center Cheesesteak (It's NOT a philly style cheesesteak, btw. Just a sandwhich with that name). Favorite sandwhich to this day.

Bro try Wise Sons on Mission. They have the best Pastrami I've ever had in my life. It is so juicy and flavorful. They toast the buns golden brown and charred to perfection. I need their Reuben once a week or else I'll go into withdraw.

23$ sandwiches I’m in the wrong buisness
Roxie is definitely not as good as it was 10 - 15 years ago. The new owner doesn't seem to be on top of freshness. The bread was stale, meat tasted old, and the veggies were pretty sad. Submarine Center still seems to be as good as ever and is my favorite sandwich shop in the city, pushing Roxie out of that spot. You can always count on SC for quality and consistency.
Mayo and mustard on an Italian combo is a damn sin! otherwise Lucca"s is a good spot
