    Maths is a wonderful subject!
    The key to learning maths is mastering the basics before you move on higher up.
    Most folk get intimated by maths simply because they don't master foundation topics which more advance levels rely on.
    Vicky Neale has a very charismatic way of talking about maths.

I've seen some of your public lectures (e.g. LMS) and your joyful energy is infectious. I get my maths from public lectures, "In Our Time" and a couple of Open University maths courses I did. My biggest regret in life is how I completely gave up on maths in school even when I was chosen for the advanced class. And now, at a much later stage in my life, I am completely lost as I try to re-learn everything again.

    I am afraid to say that, at 11:27, 1 = b (3a^2-2b^2), but when b = -1, a is not equal to 1 or -1, a is not an integer.

    • @CazoDK
      @CazoDK 5 лет назад

      I think we're ignoring the case of b = - 1, since that wouldn't make a an integer. Then in the case of b = 1, a = + - 1, and still proves that (3, 5) and (3, -5) are the only pairs of integer solutions. I don't know, perhaps I'm wrong?

    • @Angel-jk8cb
      @Angel-jk8cb 5 лет назад +2

      Your still young and you don't have to worry about that all yet. When your 13 you start to discover who you are and what you like. So when the time comes, you will eventually decide on your own. No need to be stressed, you still have a lot of years ahead of you 😃 But it's always good to think about your future early but not be stressed about it
