Hey, I just wanted to say that your videos just make me have this warm, fuzzy feeling inside me and I start to smile. I have watched almost every single video of yours :). If you could do a how-to grow mango from seed, it would be amazing! Thanks and keep smiling :)
Thank you very much for your videos. This has been my first season of growing vegetables in my life. I live on the north Oregon coast of the U.S. where the weather tends to be cool and rainy. Your videos have been very helpful as I began my square foot gardening journey. Every plant I started to grow, I've checked your channel for helpful information and tips. It's just so amazing to put seeds into dirt and get healthy plants and food!
My runner beans have been awesome, best produce yield and I’m a first time grower. I put them in everything! I have been giving them away! Not been getting notifications, I’ve hit the bell 😀
I got a notification, glad to report. Thanks Lee, for yet another great and informative video. Your tips have helped my wife and I grow a wonderfully successful garden. God bless.
I grew runnerbeans two seasons ago. They did well and matured into purple seeds. I have the seeds and I hope to grow them now you say I should have harvested earlier. Thanks for this video Lee. Bless your nan
Hi. I just found your channel and I find it very, very, informative. thank you very much for posting your videos. I've learned so much since I started watching your channel. Keep up the good work!
😂 I planted these not knowing anything about them and after watching this I’m going to have to put them in a bigger spot 😅 thank you for all this information!
Thanks do much for doing this video. I am 16 and live all the way in South Africa I love growing plants do so much... you have inspired me to start my own channel it's only got a few subscribers but I'm trying really hard Have a amazing day
I first heard about growing runner beans in a history book and I think they were just grown for their flowers until around the eighteenth century (could be wrong). I'm growing them for the first time this year, and you are a life-saver with advice.
Beautiful runner beans harvesting , nice garden decoration , thanks for sharing to us such informative and good content , i learn something new from your video
Good video about runner beans. Have not grown them as yet but will be planting bush beans soon with the corn which is going great at the moment. Here in Aussie its December and weather warming up so have been very busy growing mostly my veg garden from seed. Hopefully will see more of your videos as this is the last one I have seen. Checked on your FB page and notified you and realized you put a notice up regarding having problems with you posting your latest videos. Hope to see more soon! Take care!
my notifications had been turned off so i got nothing(not any more), its also happening on fb, the algorythm system turned notifications off too. love runner beans but always harvest them too late, this year mine were covered in blackfly and lost the battle, some great tips.thankyou
I've never tried runner beans, but looks good. I'll try some next growing season. I do remember snapping string beans with my grandma outside on the porch. Good memories! Didn't get a notification 🤣
I dont have regular notifications, I am subscribed and 👍 I had masses of flowers in Aug/September - painted lady and purple queen. The snails and slugs destroyed them. Tried beer traps, it was like a Wetherspoon's buffet 🤬 Edit - dont use a knife, use a potato peeler to destring,
I got my notification for this video BUT I no longer get your channel in my suggestions. Just a few weeks ago I was seeing regular suggestions for your videos... so I think there is some funny business going on.
My friend , try destringing from the other end, much easier, they just pull off . You can buy stringless varieties of runner beans too. Similar thing with pea pods, (except they are squeezed to open) sugar peas, snow peas etc. in fact most types where the whole pod is to be eaten. I've been doing this for over 55 years. Hope you find the info useful. Rhubarb is another plant that is easy and hard way to skin. Do it from the leaf part of the stem . This is then just stripped thinly away from the stalk, if you try from the root end, you will find that it takes a lot more flesh away and is wasteful. Started with very thin slither and strip it... start with sharp knife.👌😀
Could you clarify whether allowing the seeds and beans to mature fully into full-sized beans without any flowers left will result in a lower yield next season? Or are you suggesting that people should harvest the beans when the flowers are still alive? Specifically, I’m curious about the viability of the pink and blue beans-are they still viable for future use?
I planted the seed three weeks ago, but the weather was always cloudy and rainy, here in London. Should I give up with these seeds or I should wait more, as it starts to become sunny from this week. Nothing happened after planting the seeds.
Think I put mine in to late as I normally just buy the plants but during lock down they wanted £11 a plant so bought seeds online Had a few but worse crop ive had. Know better next year. Biggest problem i get is with snails 🐌 Think I will try a copper band
Hello dear Lee.. thank you for sharing . Yikes ok I always look to the end of your vids and have shared them too. Enjoying your journey .. pls take care and keep safe too 👍🏻😷
Ahhh, I did not know it was the pods you were supposed to eat, not the beans. Glad to have confirmation that I can eat the young ones straight from plant, I’d read it was poisonous. Thanks for the info 😊 Btw I’m still subscribed and getting notifications.
The RUclips AI sucks! I have just cleared my plants out of the bed this week, they just kept on producing. We had a massive crop of beans this year and have bean having them fresh and freezing loads (two freezer shelves full) This years beans were seeds from last year that I forgot to clear up (too lazy ) I haven't a clue what variety they are sorry but they did that well that I am storing a few pods for next year too. Great video as usual and good to see you smiling again, did you manage to get up to the communal garden for more fruit?
Amazing! Great to hear you did so well. I did indeed but most had already been picked too early. It was still nice to see such a large space feeding so many people. Always good to see locals out in the area :)
Great channel just found it and I was wondering about your earlier video re growing apples from seeds and the chances of them not being true to the original variety therefore you suggest grafting as a better method (which it is). But it is so easy to grow trees from seeds and a good thing to do for the planet so I wonder though if you do use apple seeds from a commercial orchard I would have thought the chances are they will have been pollinated from the same variety.. Unless of course it was done by a bee with a sense of humor (joking). Also if you do you grow from seed you can still use them as root stock for other varieties of apples by grafting a cutting from any other trees. Just a thought keep up the great work and regards
Plant more companion flowers in your veg patch to attract their predators or you can use this as a direct contact spray. Don't spray your plant or beans though. ruclips.net/video/11K7YmGbK2s/видео.html
New subscriber here! Thanks for the video. I'm growing runner beans for the first time this season (benchmaster). I'm either blind or dumb, but I thought near the end of your video that you said a link to help with collecting the beans/seeds to use for next season would be included. I do not see it. I've tried to get out a few of the beans/seeds of mine and am having difficulties getting them out intact. Any tips?
Nevermind! I found your 2017 video covering the subject. It appears that I wasn't leaving the beans dry out long enough. Will try again with other beans. Thanks.
Please, anyone who grows their own, please always check that plant parts are actually edible - not everything is, some plants can have very toxic parts (ie, rhubarb leaves)
Mmmm, stir fry. Also, if you are having a slug problem, please control it. Where I live, we had people eat vegetables that had slugs on their plates. Rat lungworm disease is a crippling disease. It attacks the nervous system. Wash, wash, wash your veggies.
I'm in Canada. The hummingbirds adore the flowers on these!
I vent into gardening because of you . God bless you
That's amazing to hear! I hope you have great success :)
I’ve never had runner beans before and can’t believe how big they grow! Ps I did get this notification ! 👍🏽
Good stuff. I also have fond memories of my Mom cutting the ends off the beans at the kitchen table when I was a lad.
Thank you. I had noticed I'm not getting notifications from some channels but thankfully I do get all of yours.
Good to hear

Thank you so much! You are always so cheerful, and your videos are great. Sorry with the problems with youtube.

Amazing.

Great video, really appreciate your energy! Haven’t grown green beans yet but I have foraged some.

I've never tried runner beans. All of my trellis are usually loaded with tomatoes and cucumbers. Maybe next year I'll find a spot for runners.
👍 great!
Will they come back next year
Do a video
on how to plant a mango

I love runner beans but always string them. I find a veg peeler is easier than using a knife....and probably safer too 😉. PS I got the notification
My Nan actually has a little handy tool that cut both sides at once which I still have. Peeler is also a great idea. So glad you got notified :)
Hi Lee! Have left you a like 😀
Hey, thanks
Hi did not have much luck with my beans this year. started OK then got o about five feet then startd to die off
What program you use to make your thumbnail?
How do you stop black fly, my beans are always covered in early summer, so I stopped growing them.thanks for you videos👍
