    My water was smelling like plastic and I found your video. Hopped in Amazon and ordered the wand, the 1 1/16 socket, rod, and whole house filter.
    Because of your video I felt confident and safe throughout the entire process and was able accomplish this on my own.
    Thank you for making this!

    I have used peroxide to do this. I send a quart of it directly into my pipes and water heater. Let it sit for a couple hours. Flush it all out by running the water throughout the camper for 5 mins. The smell is gone and stays gone for a good while. Semper Fi, leatherneck!!!

    “Sacrificial Stuff” from your rod… yep that’s where the smells come from for sure… good video. Cleaning the hot water tank is a must.. we do it a couple times a year. No smells.

    Excellent video! Thanks for spending all that time making it. It was very well presented; organized; complete and your explanations were excellent (you explained WHY you did each step). I only ask what settings you had the Nautilus water control knobs set at...("Sanitize"?). On the whole, what an excellent, helpful video! Thank you!

      Wow thank you for the great review. I just left the nautilus on city water connection. I didn’t need to use sanitize as I didn’t have to suck the vinegar into the system. Im glad it helped!

    I heard to use 60% vinegar mixture. I live full-time in my trailer. I use the fresh water tank quite often because if the city water gets shut off, I still have water.

      I would start looking at the water source. You could try an aluminum anode too that may help more that the regular one.

    I got the flush valve last year because I never flushed the tank but didn’t get one single thing out. I think it’s because I winterize and drain my tank every other weekend in the winter so it flushes itself out

    • @JarheadAndGingersJourney
      @JarheadAndGingersJourney  Месяц назад

      I only used about a half cup but you can use much more than that with no problem. It becomes a problem to get a ton in there with the way it opens at the bottom.

    I'm curious, how did you get rid of the smell of rotten eggs from the side of your rv and all over the ground once you drained the water out? You may not be able to smell the rotten eggs that your wife smells, but the rest of the rv park probably could.

    • @JarheadAndGingersJourney
      @JarheadAndGingersJourney  2 месяца назад

      If you have ever had it you would know it’s not as bad as you are thinking. Although you can smell it when you are trying to use it it’s not so strong that you need to collect it and dispose of it away from people. It’s just not that over the top smelly

      @@JarheadAndGingersJourney coming out of the faucet, it is horrible. I had an rv repair guy decline to flush and sanitize the water heater because he said every camper near us would be complaining to management. So, I'm going to take his word for it.

      When you run the faucet you use both cold and hot to het the vinegar in all the lines sorry if that was not clear. You can also use a lot more vinegar I have found out since making this video too. Thank you for watching and commenting too

      @@JarheadAndGingersJourney thanks for the video! Super helpful! I got it all done and am now waiting overnight. Did you run the vinegar in the hot lines before letting sit overnight or in the morning? If I do it the night before, I fear diluting the stuff in the hot water tank, but if I do it in the morning I fear that it didn’t sit in the lines long enough. Army vet here, thanks for your service!

    • @JarheadAndGingersJourney
      @JarheadAndGingersJourney  Год назад +1

      Sorry just got this. You should run the hot and cold side after you put the vinegar in before you let it set. You can use a ton more vinegar too. About as much as you want.
