Good review. I think you missed the point of a barefoot boot slightly. If you want grip there are plenty of options with the ESC/AT or SG soles. However you sacrifice ground feel for grip. I think that's inevitable if you want lugs. I live in a rural small town in Dorset and do a lot of muddy dog walking on steep forest tails and the aforementioned soles are fantastic. However if I'm on tarmac you do lose a lot of ground feel. That's where these are great. In town in winter. I would highly recommended the SG sole for your use.
I've just returned mine, they had essentially no grip the moment stone surfaces get a bit damp (where I live that's essentially all the time lol). I planned to use it for hiking in some exposed routes, so it was a no go. I'll get the ESC instead. If it wasn't for the sole, I'd say it's an amazing shoe (the AT MOC version). If you only want them for city use or grass/dirt trails then it should be good, and build quality seems amazing.
@comphys8178I got the Magna Forest ESC the sole is awesome. I run on sand and walk through some seaweed on the shore that can be quite slippery and they don't even start to slide. I also wear them to work, easy to keep clean and my all black ones I think look good too.
I’m a big fan of Vivo and generally wear the Tracker ESC for all rural and hiking activities. I’ve also the Primus Trail Knit and the Gobi. The Gobi Chelsea you bought your partner is a good urban boot though I wish they’d put a Michelin sole on it to enhance the grip!
The tracker ESC sounds and looks a great hiking boot, you sound like a real fan of vivo! I’m waiting for the day they design a wellington boot, hopefully one with good grip! 😍🤞🏼
I have Scott 4 and I love them. It’s a bit slippery but it’s ok for city. But I don’t like that insole because it’s dying brith color socks. I’ve worn them for one season and they look the same as when I bought them.
That's great to hear that yours have kept the same in regards to the look, sounds like you have taken care of them! The upper really is great. It is a shame about that grip but they are a great city boot for dry winter days!
Its not great that any of the rubber came away from the leather irrespective of the fact they’re stitched…you’d never get that after one wash with meindl traditional hiking boots for example…for the price Vivo need to be exemplary in their construction…I have 3 vivo models and the jury is still out for durability
I agree. He shows the sole already delaminating after a few wears and 1 wash even though they are stitched. This is a sign that vivo shoes are a premium price for a crap build, you’ll be rebuying new ones every month at the rate of the shoe delaminating. I also have over 10 pair of vivo and all of them have same issue, sole delaminating at the big toe creases or a the heal. Loosening waterproof and even the look of the shoe looks like I got it from a GoodWill store with the sole delaminating.
I share your experience trackers are the worst and they arent stitched.gobis have delaminated also.the old Scott 1s where the best in regards sole to upper adhesion. I had a pair of Scott 2s camel upper leather still in great condition .soles were worn and the usual delamination.paid 85 gbp to revivo for resoling and within 2 months I am using shoe goo to fix as the delamination is worse than ever.more fool me. The trouble is in my IMHO they are the best looking boots by far .materials are superior to freet and xero shoes but they have this one major issue of sole seperation. Ps I bought some hobibear barefoot shoes for 19gbp .used for work walking 10 miles per day and lasted over 3 months with no delamination.they are really comfy and so wide in too box( but look a bit naff.) So just proves It can be done in terms of construction
@PostiePaul4 it’s crazy isn’t it for the money vivo charge…but regardless of the cost this shouldn’t be happening…I’ve worn shoes for a fraction of the price that have withstood much more use perfectly fine…no more vivos for me! In fact, I’m probably going to revert back to more traditional shoes but with wide toe boxes and zero drop…like topo athletic shoes

Most complete review ever.
Have you seen the Tracker AT / MOC? I would love to see a similar test video with that one.
The sole is a lot chunkier so it doesn't have as great ground feel as the scots.

@@comphys8178 I just got the magna Forest esc and they're great. Glad I went with the Michelin sole

You’re right, it’s timeless in both the sense that it’s durable and stylish. I’ve not seen another barefoot shoe that you can fit into a crowd with 😂

“Italian Leather” which was really Nigerian is no longer used after a lawsuit was filed.
Amazing review
Good fun review. I was tempted but live in the countryside so not practical.
Thanks for stopping by, yeah i don't think they are made for the countryside, i'm starting to think that nothing beats a good old pair of wellies.
The boots look good, but how much does it cost. Looks cinematic
I’ve got them for 155£ last year

is it true to size?
thank you!
It is indeed, it has a slightly bigger toe box to let your feet sit and walk in their natural position, but they so fit very well and secure 🫡
@@CharliePayne1 thanks!
How’s the fit? Do they run larger compared to other Vivos?
They are true to size for me! 👍
If you want something that will have a more timeless look? You should look into Jim Green African barefooot Trooper
They look like they have good grip!
Is the bracken colour brown as it looks or dark green? I’ve read various comments
