Id like to see that 40 year old grinder in action! Just had a crank done for a Ford but missed being able to watch them work. here in vegas, the shops arent as accomodating as It was back in Upstate New York growing up.
Those air operated Lineshing Machines cost discounted over $825 US, wow there goes the next few weeks upon my return.Have to make one or polish by hand.
Not with my crankshaft! They be “shiny” but you’re not evenly removing material and have absolutely no control to do so! The result may be shiny, but the bearings will not wear evenly and won’t last.

Are you using sand paper to polish, or emery cloth, or what exactly?
Good video, you could tell me what type of sandpaper you use, and how thick sandpaper is needed to polish the crankshaft, thanks.
How many tenths are typically removed from the crank from polishing ?
