Hello! I always enjoy catching up with you :). Thank you for reviewing the Nordic Knitting magazine. I also have that magazine, but missed out on some of the designs. So a re-look is necessary! Your Nordic Blooms is really fun and I can't wait to see the finished vest.
Hello Kathy, same here, catching up with you is lovely. And your Elton is a Whow...looks so good and fresh on you. I made the cardi last year, you now motivated me to also do the pullover...such a good shape, i love it too. Thanks for your pointing at the collar issues, when picking the size. Have a lovely time with your next gift knitting projects and holiday season🎉
Ooh, I missed this episode...and my notifications are on 🤔. Your Elton is lovely. I've had special yarn put aside for one for a long time now....perhaps it will be a Christmas cast-on 😊
Kathy, your Elton and Garden Cardigan are terrific together....both lovely. I'm also grateful for the comfort of knitting in these challenging times, and also the escape of good stories. Have you read Tell Me Everything? Thanks for showing up!
Your sweaters are beautiful! I appreciate your desire to limit your watching and reading to the lighter side. I think I’ll go back and watch creatures great and small….. about all I can handle.
This is my first time watching your video -- hello from Alberta, Canada. It's snowy ++ here and I'm doing a lot of knitting. I too am into 'stash busting', so have made many small Xmas gifts from stash this year. I also understand your quest for all things cosy, comforting and colourful. Hope to see you again! P.S. the Nordic Bloom vest is going to be lovely; I've not tried steeking yet but it's a goal of mine for 2025. And yes, that pop of red in the blossoms is just right! 😀
Yes, comfort is definitely needed these days. We love All Creatures - look forward to a new season! Our current comfort watch is Northern Exposure (remember from the 80s?) on Prime - never gets old. I'm grateful for my online knitting community, for sure, and all the cozy knits. Cheers!
I did an Elton alternating a lace + mohair with double mohair and I adore it. I finished all the edges with icord which looks great. Love your version! Your vest is lovely. You could have done duplicate stitch for the third colour instead of stranding it maybe.
Duplicate stitch could have been better. That little inside bloom did end up having a lot of stitches though! I think it was six rows. If I do the Elton again I think I'd use double mohair or two fingering weights.
Kathy, I couldn’t stop admiring both your Elton sweater and Garden cardi- so lovely and beautiful on you too. It reminded me that my Elton cardi is stretching out a bit, so I should give it a wash and reblock it. I so love it. I also need to finish my Instant Crush by Joji that fell by the wayside when the Stephen West MKAL and gift knitting took over. Just finished a Monster Cable Hat for my granddaughter and Hum Beanies for her sisters. The cabled hat was hard on my hands, so the Hum Beanie will be my fave to knit. Socks almost done for my daughter. I made coordinating socks my eldest grandson and his fiancé (at their request-so wonderful that they want a Nana knit). I made them matching hats last Christmas. I loved your version of the Dog Star and the purple one will be lovely too. Your granddaughters will love them. Hope your back feels better soon. Thanks for the book recommendation.
@ I really like knitting the Hum Beanie- I have made several and it fits me great, uses bulky yarn but doesn’t hurt my hands, which some large needle knitting does and has enough design to keep me knitting just one more repeat- lol!
I always look forward to your podcasts! All your knits are so beautiful. If you do ever knit your son and son-n-law sweaters, I highly recommend the Mens Classic Raglan Pullover by Jane Richmond. Fantastic pattern and it fit my husband like a dream. Happy holidays to you!
Hi Kathy, first time watcher and I'm sure I'll be back. I love the calm way you speak about things. The sweater you showed in the ad looks like the Lilleke Sweater by aleksbyrd
What a lovely sweater. I love that you added a third color to the flower. I recently knit a Catlin Hunter Sweater with two colors and added a third. It was a small amount and I thought, "not so bad", then I "accidentally" started knitting the Birkin Sweater, not realizing it has three colors all throughout the sweater yoke! OMG, that was hard!
Hi Kathy, thanks for sharing your knits. The Nordic Bloom vest is wow! So beautiful. Your choice of colors is just lovely. i just finished the Antler Pullover for my granddaughter in Berroco Vintage in the color Cardinal & was inspired by your Dog Star Sweater & put it on my list for next years' making. NKR, but I notice your earrings every time you podcast. Would you mind sharing where you purchased them?
Hi Kathy- beautiful projects! The sweater in the Spincycle ad looks similar to “Tröjan Barbros stjärnor” . I haven’t made it but have it in my favourites. I’m sure if you reached out to Spincycle they would tell you the pattern name.
The colors of your Nordic Bloom vest are gorgeous! The Valnott sweater from the magazine is very appealing... ❤❤❤

Thank you! I have a little pile of magazines that I should re-visit myself. Have fun!

Your Nordic bloom sweater is beautiful. I like that you put a third color in it. Looks great.
Kathy, you have such wonderful color sense. You look great in the soft cool shades you choose. The new vest is another good one.
Thank you!

@@Elianaalfonso7703 Doubling the mohair would be great. I love my Elton but not the see through part of the mohair.

Kathy, Your Garden Cardigan is so pretty. What did you use for the bind off? Mine is flaring!
Thank you! I'm pretty sure I used a tubular, or sewn, bindoff.
Hello Kathy from France :) the link for the garden cardigan is : 404 not found :) have a nice day.
Thanks for telling me. I left a letter off. It should work now.
