  • I was in a bit of a hurry today, so didn't do what I always recommend- that is to check the label. So I bought cotton linen blend and polycotton. My mistake, but I will still use them in my fabric stash for quilting.
I prefer 100% cotton or 100% linen, but if its a blend that looks, feels, washes and behaves well then no-one will ever know.
I always wash soiled items from charity shops and for really vibrant colours will wash separately and use a colour catcher.

Glad you enjoyed it. I'm originally from Northwich, Mid-Cheshire, but moved to Chester when I began Nursing in 1970's.

@Taaleedee I was from Weaverham, my schoolfriends were from Little Leigh. We'd attend folk clubs in The Leigh Arms, next to The River Weaver at Acton Bridge and drink in The Hollybush. I always seek out Little Leigh new potatoes when in season.
