This is why RUclips is one of the greatest inventions! I tried the reset button, no joy so I unscrewed the cover and unplugged the internal battery and it’s all come back on! Thank you my mate!
I normally don’t comment on RUclips videos, but I have a virtual visit with my dream uni this afternoon, and my Lenovo has been acting up all day. Thank you so much!!!
Thank you so much! The pinhole worked -- I truly appreciate the way you explain things and your calm voice... when we non-techies are freaking out inside..
Same here. I had it for almost 2 years now, had it reformated and increase memory space, then suddenly the power flicks on and off on its own. That God the "hold the button for thirty seconds" worked (there was no indication, so I had to count how long I was holding it)
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! Fixed my T490 right up after nothing else worked. Great to see that a 3 year old video is still helping people out. The magic of The Internet!
Just received a _"new"_ laptop from work and it would not start at all! I made several attempts, and it finally worked without my having to open up and get inside. Thanks for the video!
Thanks a million. My lenovo thinkpad refused to come back on. After watching your video, I pressed the tiny hole at the back of the laptop with a needle for 5 secs and then pressed the power button.
Got my friends lap-top working for him...followed the instructions, but nothing worked 'til I took the back off and started taking bits out. Motherboard battery was tricky to access, but also removed and replaced CD, Memory, hard disk and fan. Working great now and no leftover screws! Thanks.
i was literally panicking when it wasnt turning on. i frantically searched youtube and your video showed up. i tried the back pin method and it worked. you most certainly saved my ass man. thanks a lot
This worked for me! I put a new webcam into a T560, but afterwards it wouldn't power up and was totally bricked. I tried unplugging the charger and external battery and doing the power button hold, but no joy. Finally, I opened it up, disconnected the internal battery and CMOS battery and held the power button again. I reconnected the internal and CMOS batteries and tried again, and it powered right up. I was incredably relieved. After puttng it all back toether, it worked fine. Even the new webcam worked. Thanks!
Thank you so much! I didn't know what a CMOS battery was so I had to Google it, and my T470 refurbished don't have an internal battery, but luckily with just unplugging and plugging again the CMOS battery the laptop turned on again, so thanks a lot for making this comment!

Omg thank you! I was really scared that my laptop wont turn on, the main reason of why I was scared was because the laptop is not even mine, Once again i thank you for the solution!
Thank you so much! #1 I didn't realize I need to power it off instead of simply closing the lid. My laptop is new & kept having power issues. I thought it was faulty. I tried the power button for 30 seconds plus one more tap & my laptop turned on!! Thank you! I couldn't find the pin hole but I think it might be on the side next to the sim card & usb ports. You're the best!
Thank you! Big help for me.. It saved me to bring back my laptop at this time of Covid-19 crisis when the time that I'm not allowed to travel to office (only frontliners and essential goods delivery).
This worked for me on my X1 Carbon this morning. I stuck a push pin through the bottom hole and pressed the CMOS reset button for a few seconds and that did the trick Thanks, brother!
Wow!!! My laptop won't start. No sign of power. Literally it was dead. I tried changing the charger. I tried cursing, and more curses, then banged my laptop in frustration... until I decided to look for options on RUclips. I'm glad I watched your video. The pin-hole method works...Thank you.😁💪💪🙏🙏👍👍

Thanks, that cmos reset jumper worked a charm. I had no idea that this laptop even had this feature. My guess is the lipo battery on my laptop has given up (I can feel it's a little puffy inside the hard case) and since it's lipo they can do some really nasty things with voltage when they go bad. I took the battery out and have been running off the PSU only and all seems good. So, if your battery doesn't hold a charge in your x270 please take it out! leave it out and run off your power supply. Not only is it dangerous to keep a dead lipo just hanging around it's also dangerous for the components inside your laptop. I hope this.helps others. Thanks again for this video and pointing me to the cmos jumper, I truly appreciate it as this is the computer I have set up for my senior parent. Cheers.
