Your help was much appreciated my friend. Unplugging the battery cable and then plug it in again did help me. Back in the past when the cellphone got stuck we used to do the same thing by simply taking the battery out. Unfortunately, everything is irremovable nowadays.

My wife's Lenovo 320 took a crap and would not come on. I didn't have to remove the CMOS battery but removing the main battery seemed to do the trick! I noticed that the cooling fan was really dirty so I decided to clean it with some electronic spray cleaner on it and all the connection points. It's back together now and purring like a kitten! Good thing you wrote it off. This usually required a motherboard plus keyboard replacement. The recessed reset hole beside the sd card slot can turn this Notebook on well.
Awesome! I was having this exact same problem and the only way we could get the computer to turn on was a pin in the reset button. It turns out the key board data cable was a bit loose and after following your instructions at about the 19-20 minute mark our issue has been fixed. Thanks!

These integrated keyboards seem to be problematic. I have seen plenty with a fault that types specific characters on their own. Disconnecting the kb and using an external kb is not an option as the power button is also disabled. Workaround bormally is to apply thin sticky tape to all but the left 2 contacts on the ribbon cable. Left 2 with the cable pointed away from you. Carefully reinsert the ribbon cable and you have disabled the kb but for the power button.
@@EvilDevil9143 so idk if u have the 320 model but its one the side on ur laptop where the usb ports are next to the sd card slot is a tiny hole where u can press it with something small like a thoothpick or sum then u plug ur external keyboard since the keyboard donr work and press on the blue menu normal startup boot with enter and then it should work fine u can also look on youtube how to do the novo startup if my explanation wasnt good enough i hope this helped u a bit

Their is a way through to this. Onthe left side of laptop, you will find a novo button. The Novo button is usually located on the side or near the power button of the machine. The button is either a small button or pinhole with a backwards arrow icon next to it that resembles an upside down U. Just insert a pin to press the button and the system will start. Buying a new laptop for such a small trouble doesnt seem worth it. Hope it helps
Suspect bad battery. An important signal coming from battery to super io on motherboard is missing hence the bad behaviour. Also check pins out of keyboard connector with MMEter. Check input mosfets at ac adapter. Maybe shorting one of them would bypass the control signalling and get things behaving normal. Would be interesting to keep playing with it.
hey mate! i just figured out the issue. It's the kbc chip. replaced it and laptop works flawlessly. you can buy programmed one on ebay for few dollars.
NOT ALL IS LOST. I have a computer with the exact same problem as your customer's. There is a solution to it. Leave the battery and the CMOS battery connected. You power it on with the reset button next to the SD card slot. There's a pinhole next to the the slot. Other than that, its removing the batteries as mentioned in the video.

I tried the above to no avail booted it with reset button unplugged keyboard ribbon cable and it stayed on. Guess the power bottom is shorted? Going to buy a new keypad.
@@rajatthakur9091 Just search in youtube for replace idepad 320 keyboard. You need solding iron, screwdriver , and might be fewiquick. If you go to shop they will charge you around 500 to 600 + keyboard price. And you can find keyboard in amazon.
I have lenovo ideapad 320-15IKB laptop. That's the same problem. I think it is a keyboard. If i detach the keyboard. It work. But if i attach the keyboard it turns off. Need to change keyboard not the motherboard.
If you leave everything connected you can start the laptop by pressing the poweron button until it start. It is the same failsafe as removing the cmos battery.

When I just search for the symptom and the model number a lot of people were talking about it. The fix according to the majority of people talking about it is to replace the keyboard since that's where the power button is and apparently that is likely the problem. It could also be a motherboard problem in some circumstances.

Open it up and disconnect the battery hold down the power button for about 30 seconds then just plug in the AC adapter and see if it'll power on with the battery not connected. If that works just connect the battery again close it up you're done. If it doesn't try reseating the RAM sticks and if there's two RAM sticks try one at a time and see if you get video.
A lot of the newer laptops don't have CMOS batteries anymore. Those settings are kept by the main battery. So to completely drain power from the motherboard you would disconnect the main battery.

It's a little strange that you would need to do that at that particular time but it's not that unusual to need to remove the batteries for a time in order to get a laptop to turn back on.

The strange thing is when I put back the old battery I get white light at the charger and the power button lights up white for a few seconds and nothing. Then I put in the new battery same steps but I get a orange blinking light at the charging port and same for the power button lights up white for a few seconds and nothing? I also removed the CMOS battery with no avail. Please if you have any thoughts or suggestions it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

My laptop Lenovo idea pad 320 just made the same thing. It was fully charged and then turned off, I tried different charger but there was no lights blinking ,i ordered a new battery, and my laptop turned on. The CMOS battery is there to keep the settings in the CMOS. It's not required for the computer to work. Removing it clears the CMOS settings back to the factory defaults.
The problem iam having with my acer laptop is the battery is dead but it still use to boot up now it would thak 5 minutes to boot but now it would boot blue light is on I can here the hard drive cycle like it's trying to boot so I have try all the you tube fixs except changing the CMOS battery. You said it will work without the battery but if you google it it controls most functions time and date etcetera

Found out it was the power cord and not the battery. Changed the battery anyway since I had the computer apart.

An old plastic credit/store card can also be used to go around the edges to break the 'seal' after removing the screws.

Power screwdrivers for small delicate laptop screws has a lot of potential to strip the screw heads.
Having it be adjustable torque is important. This one is adjustable.

Hook up a mouse you can use the computer and go about checking the device manager maybe it's turned off or the drivers not loaded.

The problem iam having with my acer laptop is the battery is dead but it still use to boot up now it would thak 5 minutes to boot but now it would boot blue light is on I can here the hard drive cycle like it's trying to boot so I have try all the you tube fixs except changing the CMOS battery. You said it will work without the battery but if you google it it controls most functions time and date etcetera
It has to be the keyboard. I have the same problem. I did exactly everything that was done in this video. Finally came on but my keyboard doesn't work at all.
