you have been asking about the fun items we sell in my store! the top i wore in this video, water bottles, brushes, the leather cuff I wear and so much more.. check out our brand new website! diyagogo.com
I feel guilty throwing away the DIY paint containers. I wish there was a way we can show up to the shop and have the containers refilled onsite and maybe the cost of the container gets subtracted from the total cost of the container with paint insides. Maybe it's only 50 cents off. That's 50 cents and my peace of mind knowing I didn't add to the local landfill.
Wow that's so nice to look at! You always end up with beauty and are way to harsh on yourself, you are an amazing furniture artist! Also that poor lady would be me, that's why I dont drive lol!
Most beautiful! it turned out FAN-TAB-U-LISE! Thank you sweet Debi for inspiring all of us and demonstrating what perseverance really looks like. The results of perseverance is most beautiful. Thank you sweet Debi✌
You never cease to amaze me.. another stunning piece.. I’m not sure if this would also work with paints but I’m a nail technician and when I ombré gel polishes to blend colours etc I use a flat brush that I’ve cut V sections along the bristles to make like “teeth” so that when I feather the bristles out and work the two colours together the v’s help to form a smooth transition.. when I saw you blending it reminded me of the struggle before I learned that trick.. it would be interesting to see if that works on a bigger brush..
Deb, for not knowing how to blend you AGAIN have amazed me... Your ability to CREATE beauty in front of my eyes is OUTSTANDING. YOU ARE A CREDIT TO YOUR PROFESSION*** LOVE ALL YOUR WORK... LOVE FROM IDAHO
I love it. Blending is the 👿 devil sometimes lol. I have blended twice this week. Today is solid color day with lots of neutrals ❤️❤️. Your piece is gorgeous and the old lady driver is my favorite funny story of yours. Miss you like crazy.
So wonderful for you to encourage everyone and break down the steps. I could tell immediately you were getting it better just by seeing how you were loading your brush with less paint. Love your determination and creative problem solving. The white wax clouds are beautiful.
I love this story! That lady was mesmerized she wanted to get in there!! This Sunset Dresser is beautiful & id love to jump into that scene 😊reminds me of vacation.
Girl you have talent and you create just like our creator God. Everyone has his own style, that what we call one of a kind. Be blessed debbie you are doing just fine.
You had me laughing so hard over that old lady!! Your stories always remind me that other people have constant drama in their lives too ( I was convinced it was just me!). You crack me up! I think you nailed this blended dresser !! And you look so freakin cute!
This is just beautiful! You have mastered the technique and are wonderful for sharing some of your secrets. I'm tempted to paint sunsets onto every piece of furniture I own. Bravissima!
I love this piece. I am binge watching your videos, Debi....I am having so much fun, and they say watching paint dry is boring, Ha! What do “THEY” know????
Debi, I love your humility and willingness to share with us your frustrations with some of your projects. Somehow it makes me actually want to pick up my paint brush and get to some of the projects I've been wanting to do. I've bought so much paint and it sits there because I'm not the most confident person to try these blending techniques...that I love!!! I follow you, Melanie, Quidda, and Dionne and watch your videos. I've needed the courage to try and today is the day! Thank you for these blending videos; they help! Once I get started I KNOW I'll have fun with it so thank you, thank you....and though my heart goes out to the little old lady who had the "oops" at your store, I'm glad the insurance claim helped you out :) You're a gem and I so appreciate you!
Susie Hogan Thank you so much for sharing that that is exactly why I make these videos to encourage you! It is scary to try something new but it’s also so rewarding I hope you give it a try and be kind to yourself it takes a while sometimes but it is so fun and therapeutic❤️❤️❤️
Hello fellow insomniacs:) Go to bed Debi!! Love the dresser. That looks a lot like Debbie, Melanie and Dionne’s methods. After last weeks video I went back to rewatch your old videos. You don’t have any problem creating artistic lovely pieces! The loading the brush with two colors on your brush was big in the eighties with that crafter who used to teach you one stroke flowers. I can’t remember her name, Donna maybe. Gotta love Dionne🤣 👏👏I’m not sure you ever needed any help. But glad you feel more confident.
Debi's Design Diary We stay awake thinking of our next DIY paint to buy and what interesting things to use it for. I love Firestarter! Trip to my local retailer coming up.
From what I can tell, these blending geniuses are already artists and I imagine they’ve spent many years honing their skills before even touching furniture. You’ve done so well, Debi. That’s a gorgeous piece of artwork you created 😍
You are such an inspiration, and do such amazing work. You have inspired me to start my own furniture painting business, as well as a RUclips channel. Thank you so much!!!
Well darli'n, I said in your community post last night, that it looked like a sunset over the ocean. Guess I was right and um yeah you NAILED IT GIRRRL!!!. But I guess now, Dionne is gonna bust you for sharing her secret!! lol Love you both
Debi thanks for putting a smile on my face and making me laugh this morning, I really needed that, my mom is dying of cancer she probably wont make it through the month, it's just been so hard latley so watching your video was great therapy. I intend to visit your shop as I live here in SD within the next few months. I still have yet to go buy your paint! Thanks again for the inspiration
Kristy, I'm so sorry! i lost my mom to cancer a few years ago. It is so hard, heartbreaking. I'm praying for you and sending you a hug right now. I hope that God sends you the kind of comfort that only he can provide.
if you practice on small canvases you can get the hang of it. for me the thing I had to learn to keep from making the glorious color of mud was to follow the color wheel, some colors, complementary colors, when blended tend to make mud. you are doing a great job, now all you have to do is change your story.... "I blend paint well and with every piece I get better and better". when you change your story you will be there.
Absolutely Stunning🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Debi just Amazing❣️. Thank you for taking us on this incredible learning experience with you! That Sun reflection in the water is everything🙌🏻😊k
I love how it turned out! Beautiful! I think it’s hilarious how you reached out for Dionne’s help and advice and then totally didn’t follow it. 🤣😂 You did it your way. You go girl!
Love it! Reminds me of the "endless" summer posters you could buy at Michael's or Hobby lobby. I have blending issues as well. I use a small "practice" end table always trying different color blends and blending techniques. I use to get frustrated on the furniture I was trying to blend on, now I just practice on that little end table first. For me, I think I start to stress on the piece I'm trying to work on. Loved the idea Dionne shared with the flat brush, going to try that next....
it would be fun and cool if you came out with your own brand of seeing glasses each pair is designed by you!! $$$$$ I don't need glasses but i would totally buy a pair!! Also maybe, come out with chalkboard paint and your own sets of chalk!! That would be cool as well!! LOVE YOUR CHANNEL!!!!
Love the sunset dresser Debi!! You did it. I love that you just keep trying!!! You amaze me. I have that same thought process.. just keep going & trying. Lol like the little engine that could.. lol ( hanging out & reading with the grand kids this past weekend!! Haha hence my analogy) hahaYou have inspired me to keep trying. I’m new to painting furniture. I have a side board which I tried blending. My largest piece so far. It’s ok but not in love with it. I know it takes time to master certain techniques.. trying to be patient with myself.. I did already put clear wax on it. To change the look can I paint over the wax with a new base coat? & start over? Ahh & try try again??
OMG you and Kim Chaos are my fearless hero's! Ecstatic that you WON the blending Battle now on to your next challenge. How are the Skincare treatments going? Still being vetted for the Natural Chaos FB Group kind of intense. Purchased all items for the Resin molds can't find Face Masks to safely pour.
How clever you are. Your style is very refreshing and beautiful. Thank you for sharing. Also, I want to show you something and ask your advice but how?
COOL! I'm wondering if you could have used the white wax for the "sun reflection marks" on the water also? I've never been any good at ombre/layering so hopefully this video will help me!!
I have a little trick for blending, your brush is very dry due to the way you said care for your brushes (ruff me too). Add a must of water first to your brush a little before starting and then the hair are hydrated. Then add paint to the brush. It works!😜👍😃
have you ever tried using a synthetic flat brush that is super soft? I think your brush doesn't bend enough and it is very thick. Just me, maybe? I really like using a flat brush when blending.
@@DebisDesignDiary I think I mean bendy- if that makes sense. Flexible and less hair. I find the oval brushes hold so much paint --which is normally really great- but in this case- maybe not. In any case the chest of drawers looks fab!!
Thanks for the encouragement! I’ve learned so much from you, about painting and about life. 💖🙏 (btw, what color is that little yellow stool? Is that Cake Batter?)
Hi Debi, great job as always! Sorry about your store's damage. Hope all is repaired now. Have a question please. After your piece is fully completed (either wax or polycrylic) how to you keep it clean (routine house cleaning type). Do you use just a soft dry clothy, or some mild cleaning product? Thanks for the info. Blessings to everyone
I think you could use either, after you buff the wax it hardens and gets a smooth buttery finish . I would test whatever cleaning chemical you use first as each one could have a different result. I just use a damp soft cloth most of the time.
I am so excited to try this soon!! I am not so crazy about the green top, though. I probably would have used white because neutral helps it sell. I know. Boring!$
Omg you are gonna be about 1.5 hours from me. I would so love to come but I can't afford the ticket price. My husband was diagnosed with cancer last year and will be on short term disability soon and he is our only income due to me being disabled and no Social security check for me either so he is literally our only income. But I love that you will be so close, i would probably totally fangirl if i went so its probably better i can't go. Lol
I'm so sorry Desire Love, I lost my Mom to cancer three years ago, it is so hard for everyone in the family. Prayers for you and your Husband, that he finds his way back to health!
At least you can wax - I struggle with blending, then the wax part looms over my head and, for now, have given up trying to use wax and use a top coat instead. Sigh.
