@@thuglife-er4wz well, it’s a cardio-respiratory exercise much like running or swimming. The purpose of it is to train the cardiovascular and respiratory systems, less so individual muscle groups. You’ll likely “feel it” in your lats and triceps due to the pull and extension of the elbow.
I add 5 lb ankle weights to my wrists cause there is little resistance going to hat position...i do 6000 meters in 30 minutes...exhilarating when it's done
A very useful video without any of that "Hey what's up Bro? " Americanisms. This is more or less my first SkiErg video and already, I could pull with a much lower split time. Thanks for the super lesson
Yes, it is, and in swimming this is a great technique. But similar to swimming, not the most effective way to propel the body or produce power for a long period of time.
Having been a skier for over 20 years, this isn’t the tool to use to increase my readiness for skiing either. Love its application for pulling stamina, swimming and would like to see its effectiveness on CrossCountry skiing, but haven’t tested this.
Brilliant vid, best one , ive looked them all. Giving hyrox a shot
and thanks 🙏🏻
Excellent video! Thank you!
Glad you liked it!
Very useful as new to this, thanks 🙏🏻
You're very welcome!
Appreciate you guys spreading all this training knowledge! Thank you!
Perfectly explained mate. Thank you!
This is very helpful. Plan on watching it again before my next workout. Thanks.
very very helpful
Glad to hear that
Thank you
Great video thanks ! We don't see to many of them on the ski erg.
Thank you
It’s a jacked Ryan Reynolds. Great video too. Thanks
Can't it be done with alternating arms?
It can! But, that will result in a low intensity "recovery" pace, which is fine if that's your goal.
I do not have access to a ski erg yet I want to sign up for a deka strong… what other machine do you think can help me prepare?
hi, We aren't familiar with all the things needed for the deka strong comp. However, running and rowing are your two best friends for cardio options.
You could also consider doing a gym drop-in 1-2x/week for access to a skierg.
Pull down rope machine
Which is the ideal time to do this exercise?pre work out or post work out or is this is a warmup exercise.
Honestly, If you have access to this equipment, using it for warm-up or conditioning is ideal... mix it up!
I feel like people do the snow angels for energy preservation. It really doesn’t make sense otherwise
Being inefficient, you actually waste energy performing the snow angel.... so I'm not sure of the point of it.
Which muscle does it targets!?🙄.... What's the use of it!

Is this a full body exercise?
Yes absolutely, but is also a great way to incorporate the upper body into "cardio" exercise.

Stoked you enjoyed it!
I’m no expert by any means. But I can see one throwing their hands back at the end. Proper nordic skate skiing form uses this.
Nope this is not specific to nordic skate skiing and can easily be adjusted if that is what you are training for.
Butterfly is to engage your lats

Bro I think I'm too tall for this device 😢
Or just can't get it how to do it
I'm not sure if they make an extension!
Well, not if you are training for actual skiing
