Heavy skis are not necessary anymore . Weight to strength ratio is very important in this day and age. I don't know why this kid would say he's stoked about a heavy ski. Dimensions and everything else about the ski look amazing, but weight is over the top compared to what else is out there.
If you don't agree, then compare it to the same company and sister brand in the Rossignol line. Or take a look at one of the hardest chargers on the planet and the line he developed Aurelin Ducroz.
Weight is everything in these times. this ski looks amazing but I'm sure they have the tools, technology, and materials to keep the weight down without compromising strength and performance.
Still waiting for Dynastar to build the carbon Mythic in a 105-108mm version.
Still confused about Dynastars sizing and reasoning as well. Would love to have a 178. I ski all my skis in the same height as me but prefer to change under foot when I want more ski, not more length.

The guys at Blister Review ski and review a ton of skis and do tend to personally prefer heavier skis. They don't trash lighter skis, their preference leans to heavier skis. Visit their website and subscribe. Their Deep Dive comparisons are great.

@@markmassoglia Ok, I guess heavy is fine if your main thing is skiing mini golf.

They are not that heavy as your examples. If you are trapped by the 200 g per leg, then you need a stronger leg or better ability. I can feel the same as you described the length where the tip and tail rocker can actually cheat a quite amount of it. Powder ski with length more than your height is normal. I think you are a progressing intermediate/beginner, going narrower with the width will benefit you for now

@@GUIDESPERSPECTIVE So this was a Blister Review video and the guys there prefer heavier skis, that's all, so by all means go play mini golf.
