Manga is moving quite quickly, it's just hit a hiatus recently! Definitely recommend checking manga out - it's already moved past the point anime left off, just not quite enough for a new season. We have some cute things with the main characters, more of Roland and Astolfo, crumbs of Archiviste lore... Also more of dhampire trio! The last chapter anime covered is chapter 55.5, but I would recommend to start from the beginning - there are fun things that didn't make it in the anime!
@@chivoalt Marquis Machina, for one! Machina shows up in many plot lines but was cut from anime almost entirely, for some reason. And current manga arc focuses a lot on Marquis. Some moments that were cut: In manga Marquis came to tell Chloe in person what happened to Ruthven and Jeanne and visited at least a few times after. In anime she gets a letter. Also Machina made Chloe's cool arm! Also Domi's brother who is part of vampire council! In manga there was a whole chapter about said council's meeting after Gevaudan's arc. And interactions between Domi and her siblings while the brother explains why Jeanne wasn't punished for not killing Gevaudan's Beast. The moment where Vanitas accidentally gives "Father" a name (Luna); Luna saying "I'm neither male or female." and that they don't mind being called either (which is why Misha continues to refer to Luna as "he" and Vanitas as "she". Astolfo's arc was handled differently - anime even expanded upon it, with few minor changes. Chloe's story was cut - there were more moments with her family. Automatons were built in their image, because she blames herself for what happened to them and wanted them to kill her once she was done with Naenia.
5:55 It´s because Vanitas was also "kidnapped" by the Chassuers(idk if the pronouncing is right xd) and he learned from them how to fight against vampires. That is why he told Noe in the Fight against Ronald that he should cover his eyes. Because with the short blinded eyes they can transform the Malnorms from the World.(i´m not good at describing) Vanitas had the Chassuer serum with them for a long Time. In the Bag that is attached to his belt, wich you can´t see through his big ass coat. In the Manga Mochizuki had shown this as it looks.
9:58 I like a lot how you make this type of commentary about certain aspects and themes of the show, idk it’s just great for me when people actually analyze and explain them so well and easily, now I understand too (I don’t watch vanitas hahahs) reminds me of the bsd beast video you made, just amazing man
This was a really great commentary/ reaction. I especially liked the little analysis of why names are so important in this story, i never thought of that on my own. This whole reaction series was so great, both for insight and comedy. I really enjoyed it, thank you!
The authors writing style is that she likes to sprinkle the major plot and motivations in there for the first half of the story and then it really starts to pay off in the latter half with twists and reveals. She did this with Pandora Hearts and the twists were so good. The antagonist of Pandora Hearts is probably one of my favourites in any manga. Vanitas wants you to think, but I’m not sure if they put everything that is in the manga in the show. I haven’t watched season 2 yet. Like Mika’s robot stuff comes from the noble Domi’s sister is sleeping with, most likely. Did they even put that in the show? If not, I can understand why some things feel out of no where.
Anime did leave some important things out, unfortunately. (To be fair, they probably had an episode limit.) Yeah, Paindora Hurts in the best way possible! Love the antagonist too (all PH characters, really!)
0:15 yeah it's been 3 months since the last chapter (4 months if one doesn't release in the next few days) and they're really short, and we've only just barely started to pick up the plot again. I'm really starting to go through vnc withdrawals and now this reaction series is done i don't know what I'll do. Edit: just found out there is no new chapter again this month, I'm going insane
I started a case study of vanitas because of always seeing Danny Motta notifications of it. Then I watched all his reactions of it and have been eagerly awaiting the next video
I'm genuinely so happy Danny finished the series even if it didn't get a lot of views, I'm a big Vanitas no Carte fan and I loved knowing Danny's thoughts on characters and arc's
Okay I’m just here to say a little piece, Danny was saying how Mishia was introduced 3 episodes ago, but in the manga he was in fact introduced after Vanitas and Jeanne’s date that Domi and Dante were spying on. There was a scene cut where after Domi and Dante part ways, Mishia runs into her and gets his introduction in
Sad that this is the finale. The reaction lineup of ATLA, Owl House, and this was so perfect. Wonder if it’ll just be down to the other two or if a different one will start/come back.
Oh right. So, the book of vanitas has the ability to manipulate the magical machinery. This was explained in the episode with the evil scientist, when Vanitas was controlling the doors and mecha guards - I think.
So glad you watched this and loved your analysis! The manga is a couple of chapters ahead now, definitely will take some time for it to build up into a potentially new season but the story has been progressing incredibly well so very excited ✨
Great reaction! I was just a bit disappointed about the sensei eye thing. I was so looking forward to Danny seeing the purple and blue eyes and scream "Get rid of the cat immediately!"xD
Even though Vanitas no carte is incomplete, I have a lot of trust in Jun Mochizuki, the author, after having read Pandora Hearts, her previous work. I'm not sure if you read manga, but if you do, I recommend it. It's relatively short compared to other action mangas, it's complete, and it has the most painful, shocking, and well-written plot twists I've seen in a long time. I'm sure that as time goes by, Vanitas will reach that point, especially since Jun isn't... afraid to surprise or hurt her fans. The anime adaptation of Vanitas was very good, although they had a couple of problems with the pacing, which was done better in the manga, but still the animation and music were very good.
The character design and pretty animation was drawn me to the anime, and I stayed for the angst. May I know how long was Pandora Hearts? how many chapters was it?
@@petraleong It's only 100 chapters long. Short in comparison to other shonen. I finished it in like, two to three days. Although the beginning is confusing, everything malkes sense later on.
Just to make it clear: the book allows Vanitas(and his brother too I guess) to interfere with stuff’s true name, somewhat similarly to what Vampires do manipulating the world formula(usually they use it to mess with Astermite, which is to charcoal what vampires are to humans, all the sci-fi stuff in the anime is powered by Astermite), basically the whole magical system is based on the Theory of Platonic Idealism(which says that there’s a metaphysical world containing the purest concepts on which the material world is based on, so there’s an Ideal Chair, with all chairs in the material world being mere derivations of it)
Danny thank you so much for reacting to this series! I've not commented much but I really, really enjoyed this series! I'd really love it if you can react to Moriarty the Patriot or The Apothecary Diaries. I understand if you can't but it would be great to see them! I fell HARD for this series and caught up on the manga after the anime did such a great job showing off its charms. I'm overjoyed you reacted to all the (current) seasons and by far my favorite part of that is you dissecting the meaning behind the names and how much weight the series puts on them. I have a theory that in the series finale, because Vanitas took the OG vampire of the blue moon's name, Noe saying in s1 that he eventually does "kill Vanitas with his own hands"-- it will be a symbolic 'death' of the monitor and mission the human Vanitas adopted, and it will finally leave him free to be a normal human and (hopefully) live happily ever after. I'm sticking to that theory like a damn liferaft until explicitly shown otherwise.
No actually the whole “importance of names” rant that Danny went on in the middle of this video was SO interesting to me. I love this series, but not to the point of fully analyzing a lot of the symbolism in it, and so it was really cool to me to hear Danny break down how Naenia’s actions of stealing the vampire’s names contributes to the generalization and hatred between vampires and humans. Idk it just made me really happy :) Love this series and glad that Danny’s all caught up with it now!
Your jokes were really good in this video! I was snickering to myself throughout my work break! I laughed a lot at the beep book dog bits a lot. I also really liked your name analysis portion of the video! It's really fun to hear your insight on stuff like that! Love the video!
This has been one of my favourite reaction series on this channel. I loved the analysis about the names, VnC is definitely a series that gets better the closer you look at it
I loved it so much, every time I watch these videos I’m like « oh boy at this point Danny should watch seraph of the end to continue the vampire series »
The gun is actually Dante's! Vanitas beat him up and stole it from him. The chasseur juice was also bought from Dante (who stole it from them during Gevaudan but I don't recall if that scene was included).
Thank you so much for reacting to this show. I was watching it back when it came out but I ended up pausing at the episode with Misha/Mikhail's introduction and then just never finished the last episodes. Thanks to you, I just finished up the last two so I could watch this video. Only took me 2 years and a month 🎉
I've loved all ur jokes throughout this series. You're hilarious and I'm so glad you saw this through to the end! The manga is going so slow for a few reasons! It's a monthly release, there was an 11-month hiatus that only ended in May 2023, another hiatus that was from covid, and now there is currently a hiatus due to the author, Jun Mochizuki, not being in good health.
Since your confused about who the Blonde dude is he’s Noe’s mentor the whole reason Noe was supposed to find Vanitas in the first place he was in a few flashbacks
I'M GONNA MISS THIS SERIES SO MUCH 😭 good thing owl house and avatar are going to be around for quite a while ! always looking forward to more danny content no matter what!
Man, with this over unless he goes back to Link Click it might be a while before we have another character voiced by Zeno Robinson. Welp, guess we’ll just have to see how fast he gets through Owl House season 1.

Hope you got some more sleep and good on your tesr!
The dude in the end is the teacher noe always talk about the one that take care about Domi, Noe and Louis
God, it's always so surreal seeing the end of a reaction series
14:22 to be fair vanitas did beat up Dante and take his gun so he didn't always have it
i seriously can't express how much i love the all bungo stray dogs references that have been generously peppered into this reaction series 😭
I'M HERE, I'M QUEER, AND I'M READY FOR MY VANOÉ EP
Thank you so much for reacting to Vanitas, it was so much fun to see. I really hope there will be more seasons in the future, especially knowing how crazy Pandora Hearts went. It can only get more and more interesting.
Whatever I was doing is no longer important. We love this show we all say in unison
The last chapter anime covered is chapter 55.5, but I would recommend to start from the beginning - there are fun things that didn't make it in the anime!
what are a few things that weren't in the anime?
@@chivoalt Marquis Machina, for one! Machina shows up in many plot lines but was cut from anime almost entirely, for some reason. And current manga arc focuses a lot on Marquis.
Some moments that were cut:
In manga Marquis came to tell Chloe in person what happened to Ruthven and Jeanne and visited at least a few times after.
@@СарраКарагозян there's a COUNCIL O-o
7:56 "it would just be Atsushi sweeping"
Danny straight up forgets Dazai exists lmao
"Bweeeeem, horse mode engaged" just got me bursting in laughter like crazy for no reason 😂😂
(To be fair, they probably had an episode limit.)
Yeah, Paindora Hurts in the best way possible! Love the antagonist too (all PH characters, really!)
I was watching Tokyo Ghoul and I got the notification and paused my anime so I could watch this video
Bungou stray dogs wishes it was the case study of Vanitas because unlike the detective agency Vanitas and Noe actually get shit done
I started a case study of vanitas because of always seeing Danny Motta notifications of it. Then I watched all his reactions of it and have been eagerly awaiting the next video
Same
This is the exact same thing that happened to me but with link click. Now its my fav of all time😭
I'm genuinely so happy Danny finished the series even if it didn't get a lot of views, I'm a big Vanitas no Carte fan and I loved knowing Danny's thoughts on characters and arc's
Wonder if it’ll just be down to the other two or if a different one will start/come back.
think he is either gonna start link click or toilet bound hanako kun
He's already done Link Click@@Moomin.trolll
And Good Omens, I think
@@seeschwalbe oh yeah maybe
Robo dog be like “Bep bop bee reading sympathy levels” “HORSE MODE ACTIVATED!!”
Its so nice seeing Danny explain and actually understand this show🤩😌
I love that you love the naming payoff. No other notes, I just liked hearing you explain your interpretation of it
Did anyone else noticed that the shapeless one and Noé's cat have the same eyes? Like that can't be a coincidence
05:11 Vanitas took a gun from Dante, it's not really his! He has a knife, I think, but not a gun.
You know most of the time I skip past the patreon read but the transition here was so smooth that I couldnt bring myself to. Touche.
Great reaction! I was just a bit disappointed about the sensei eye thing. I was so looking forward to Danny seeing the purple and blue eyes and scream "Get rid of the cat immediately!"xD
The hat demon dude is noe's teacher. He was the one who cut of Louis's head. Ive heard people say he was also Noé's cat but I dont know if thats true.
7:06 I love the sophisticated french music while Vanitas and Noé are tearing each other apart 💀
The patreon plug was really clever and funny i really loved the analysis before that too. The man you are danny, the man you are 🙏🙏
Even though Vanitas no carte is incomplete, I have a lot of trust in Jun Mochizuki, the author, after having read Pandora Hearts, her previous work.
@@beatrizsegovia4871 hmmm so if Vanitas manga follows a similar trajectory, it wouldn't be like a 10 year wait for the ending.
@@petraleong I think Vanitas will be longer than Pandora, but I don't know if the anime will continue.
Just to make it clear: the book allows Vanitas(and his brother too I guess) to interfere with stuff’s true name, somewhat similarly to what Vampires do manipulating the world formula(usually they use it to mess with Astermite, which is to charcoal what vampires are to humans, all the sci-fi stuff in the anime is powered by Astermite), basically the whole magical system is based on the Theory of Platonic Idealism(which says that there’s a metaphysical world containing the purest concepts on which the material world is based on, so there’s an Ideal Chair, with all chairs in the material world being mere derivations of it)
I'm SO hyped for this, let's gooooo
"ALL HAUL KING DANNY" we all scream in unison
LETS ALL HAUL HIM BUT WHERE SHOULD BE PUT HIM?
Danny thank you so much for reacting to this series! I've not commented much but I really, really enjoyed this series! This with Bungou and Black Butler series is something I watch whenever I'm down and you always make me laugh. Thank you soo much!
I'd really love it if you can react to Moriarty the Patriot or The Apothecary Diaries. I understand if you can't but it would be great to see them! I think Apothecary Diaries will do quite well in terms of views too since it's very popular.
I'll be here for whatever you post though!
Now onto watching this last Vanitas video!

tryna not be sad this is the last vnc reaction because we're having link click season 2 reactions soon☝️
The guy in the end is noes teacher, the one that sent him to find out about the book of vanitas and domis and louis grandfather he’s been in several episodes 😭
i loved the vnc videos so much, vanitas is my fave and i laughed so much listening to danny roast him
vanitas telling noe to kill him noe remembering louis death
I love Danny for loving BSD.😂😂
No actually the whole “importance of names” rant that Danny went on in the middle of this video was SO interesting to me. I love this series, but not to the point of fully analyzing a lot of the symbolism in it, and so it was really cool to me to hear Danny break down how Naenia’s actions of stealing the vampire’s names contributes to the generalization and hatred between vampires and humans. Idk it just made me really happy :)
Love this series and glad that Danny’s all caught up with it now!
Noes teacher shows up being all creepy.
Me, immediately: "THE CAT, ohmygod THE CAT"
Your jokes were really good in this video! I was snickering to myself throughout my work break! I laughed a lot at the beep book dog bits a lot. I also really liked your name analysis portion of the video! It's really fun to hear your insight on stuff like that! Love the video!
This has been one of my favourite reaction series on this channel. I loved the analysis about the names, VnC is definitely a series that gets better the closer you look at it
Will watch this as soon as i get home. For now i just wanted to thank you for watching this series that i love so much❤
I loved it so much, every time I watch these videos I’m like « oh boy at this point Danny should watch seraph of the end to continue the vampire series »
I will miss this series 😭
The gun is actually Dante's! Vanitas beat him up and stole it from him. The chasseur juice was also bought from Dante (who stole it from them during Gevaudan but I don't recall if that scene was included).
i do love how danny keeps calling her mania
Thank you so much for reacting to this show. I was watching it back when it came out but I ended up pausing at the episode with Misha/Mikhail's introduction and then just never finished the last episodes. Thanks to you, I just finished up the last two so I could watch this video. Only took me 2 years and a month 🎉
Danny I LOVED ALL YOUR ANALYSIS OF THIS SHOW AND HOW ACCTURE THEY ARE WERE
gonna miss this series
I also love the whole name analogy within the plot of the show
I've loved all ur jokes throughout this series.
The way I held my breath to a point that I felt a blood vessel in my forehead out of excitement, seeing that Danny posted. 😊💜
YAAA LETS GO FINALLY WE,RE HERE
THIS IS ABOUT TO BE SOO GOOD 🙏🏼
I'M GONNA MISS THIS SERIES SO MUCH 😭 good thing owl house and avatar are going to be around for quite a while !
always looking forward to more danny content no matter what!
9:47 I watched this show twice and I absolutely love this line. But I never thought about it that way, so thanks for this insight Danny
Man, with this over unless he goes back to Link Click it might be a while before we have another character voiced by Zeno Robinson.
Welp, guess we’ll just have to see how fast he gets through Owl House season 1.
I genuinely didn't expect you to watch the case Study of Vanitas, though I did hope. And glad it happened, these reactions are hilarious. But now it's got me thinking what about another vampire show? Called Seraph of the end. If you have or have not watched it lmao it's a very good two season 24 episode show
SOTE MENTION RAHHHHHHH!!!!!
WTF IS A 3RD SEASON?!?!?!?🔥🔥🔥🔥🗣🗣🗣🗣
4:35 "hoooooo he turned into a fairy!!!"
I love hearing Danny break things down. It always super satisfying, hope to make something one day that he can react too
i want to know how many times he’s brought up bungo this series.
Noe's teacher that showed up has the same eyes as his cat. So the teacher was there the whole time
