"Reki, my love... Of skateboarding" and "And you brought the kids!" are the most iconic dub lines to me, like one is just straight up no homo-ing an already homo relation and the other is Cherry and Joe acting like an old married couple and Reki, langa, shadow and miya are their kids 😂
And the best part of the second one is Shadow being lumped into the "kids" category despite being another adult...

I wonder if the reason Langa repeats words said to him is because his understanding of Japanese isn’t the greatest and thus he sometimes has to repeat words to remember them, especially since like with all languages, slang and double meanings are everywhere.

Yeah! My vibe from Langa was never really “idiot” but rather “quiet.” He doesn’t say much and tbh I think that’s at least partially because Japanese is a second language he’s likely barely used. He probably learned it at a young age from his mother so he sounds native, but is probably translating half of what everyone says into English just to get by sometimes.
" I wanna climb that cherry tree" is probably the most demonic catcall in the history of catcalls.

This is the best part of Joe and Cherry's dub: I believe the voice actors decided to play up that tension between the two of them.

Correction: The dub for Sk8 the Infinity was made by brilliantly talented lunatics. These actors know how to make a dub enjoyable.
I think that the common thing people say about the sk8 dub is that they gave the VAs money and the script, then just let them do whatever the hell they wanted.

99% perfect Reki could use a little work especially the audio quality making it sound like it was recorded at a house and not a studio

It was recorded at the house. This was during the pandemic where they were recording at home as opposed to the studio and voice actors had to be there own tech team.
Just a fun tidbit, the voice actor for cherry has stated that him and the voice actor for Joe has voiced them with the intentions of them being shipped together since the actors themselves ship the characters together.
I really adore Reki's voice 😢 I think it fits him great when he yells and gets excited, but also when he went on a 3 episode depressive episode. I know he's probably just used to the sub voice, but Reki's positivity isn't his full personality. Their voices, especially Reki's, are super pleasing to the ear and it's one of the reasons I love the show so much

I absolutely adore what Daman Mills and Jonah Scott did for this show. Cherry and Joe in the sub had some sexual tension but Daman and Jonah knew exactly what the fans would want and I think that's one of the things that made the dub so popular.

One think we often forget is that Langa is not used to japanes at thr start of the show. Him repeating words he heard twice in different contexts really makes sense if hes just trying to get used to everyday/informal speech.
People always say Reki is best boy because he’s this sunshine with a angsty teen story but lasagna is literally the purest soul in this show and has the mind of a two year old like how is he not considered best boy by most

The anime is called Kiss Him Not Me, and He plays a highschool senior named Mutsumi. But you might not like it because its audience is a very specific niche of people

Langa’s voice actor is actually Howard Wang. He voices quiet a few characters like; Guang-Hong Jin from “Yuri on Ice” Ryu Kutou from “Hells” Whitley Schnee from “RWBY” Kakushi Goto from “Kakushigoto” and many more.
He also voices Xie Lian from Heaven Official's Blessing.
