You've held off far too long. I only just started it in June. It's by far the most impactful spoiler, I have to say. Watching the entire first episode completely blind was certainly an experience.
My favorite parts of the video: - Emily casually drawing author illustrations in less than two minutes - Garnt with that come from behind win like a true anime protagonist. - and my favorite of them all, Emily answering the Dungeon Meshi question correctly because she went to the collab cafe 😂
Garnt really went through an anime protagonist arc. Being really bad at it and being mocked (lovingly), then slowly improving his art skills (slightly), and then finally figuring out that it's better to draw the context and surroundings rather than try to get the faces and intricate shapes right 😂 He got the Oshi no ko point and the last couple of points because of that 5Head move - almost stick figure characters, but zoomed out to show the whole scene so that it becomes easier to figure out.
I love that grants chibi is in the turtleneck but he's wearing his wedding ring and the chibi not having a ring feels like a missed detailing opportunity
Justice for Daidus on Caramalldansen. When I heard "go-to dance for anime enthusiasts back in the early 2000's," that was the only dance I was thinking of.
Garnt showing off his skills with the mechanical stuff, like the Akira motorcycle was actually so good and it was like the hardest thing to draw too. It seems like people are his weak spot mostly, probably because their more "organic" shapes than the geometric shapes he's used to.
Because of that Nana cup question, I'm convinced half of Emily's core memories growing up are related to strawberries. Also Gigguk's dog looked more like the "let me do it for you" dog lmao

What impresses me more is how much detail she remembers of characters that she probably didn't even draw before, you could have the same art skill than hers and fail miserably at drawing any character that you don't see too much.
I really like that the guests so far have had a wide range of experience with drawing, but it's always fun to see people draw regardless of how good they think they are at drawing.
Emily was lucky not to be crucified like the presumably two pancake headed creature in Gigguk's drawing was when she drew the word "Pi" instead of an actual pie under Asuka.
This has so quickly and unexpectedly become one of my favorite channels. The level of excitement I had when you both said "Another episode of SPILLED INK!" it was like I was a toddler and my favorite show just came on, obsessed!

Are you guys going to also explore other traditional art mediums (such as sculpting, print making etc)? But if not you should really try painting on glass! If you haven't already. Love your channel!
Drawing along is the most humbling experience, I got destroyed by like 6 points and every time I thought my drawing was decent I looked at the screen and Emily had drawn a total masterpiece.
I'm always in awe of how good of a picture memory artists have, feels like it is something you are born with or trained as you are growing up and can be quite hard to learn when you're older. Also, Emily's drawings are true concept pieces every time, holy hell!
i love how everyones interpretation of a character eating. is just the character opening their mouth like a portal and the look in their eyes go lifeless like a sleeper cell command was heard.
Garnt‘s illustration of the titans‘s weakspot is even more accurate if you consider WHY it‘s the nape. An explosive shell would probably do the trick too, so long as it pierces deep enough; no slicing required.
