Well technically it is budget. G305 came out what 6 years ago? Adjusted for inflation the G309 is actually cheaper than the G305's launch price. Only issue is people are comparing the G305's current price to the G309's launch price. From what I've seen most people's complaint about this mouse is more of a Woozle Effect based on Placebo Effect opinions of Lightweight Mice = Better. Despite this the G309 offers a lot more than what the G305 offers, so if they were priced similar it would be kind of silly. Basically what I'm getting at, most people's complaints about this product actually confuse the heck out of me. I mean if there was something seriously wrong with it, then I'd agree. I've honestly been tempted to picking one up just because it's bluetooth functionality would be great for using at home and when I go to work. With the AA battery I wouldn't have to worry about charging it at all as well. Which is ironically very convenient. Definitely with Lithium batteries losing longevity with time.
@@Alte.Kameradenanother problem: this mouse doesn't exist in a vacuum. for a cheaper price there are many other brands that offer mice with better features, way less weight, comparable battery life, and more polling rate options. And for the time it is released, people can just, you know, NOT buy this one and instead opt for the g305 because there's virtually not much difference between the two despite it being 5 years older. Which is why a lot of people are disappointed. Instead of giving them a refresh to the g305 shape which is a fan-favourite, they instead released a mouse that almost forces people to buy powerplay if they wanted a lighter mouse, instead of, I dunno, make a true budget lightweight mouse.
@@weldedshilian6654 Hi, do you know anything similar in price, also light-weight and with AA batteries? I'm thinking about the Razer Orochi V2, but do you know something else? Should be at a maximim 85-88 grams wit the battery included, I think the G305 weights around 100 grams. Thanks
@raresvitelariu3428 personally haven't seen too many lightweight gaming mice in recent years that still use AA batteries, aside from brands like logitech and razer. and to some extent steel series (but who uses steel series mice nowadays). Honestly Orochi V2 is your best bet if you're looking for that egg shape and removable batteries that weighs less and/or around 80 grams. There's also the Viper v3 hyperspeed (not the pro) that still uses AA batteries but is a tad bit bigger compared to the Orochi and is also a bit pricier, but comes at a weight of around 88 grams. Plus it's only priced at 70$ in amazon and should go on sale pretty often. If you're not too insistent on the batteries being removable then there's this one chinese mouse called MCHOSE G3 pro that's basically a g305 clone with way less weight (65g give or take) and priced around 40$. It comes with the PAW3395 sensor and omron switches, basically pretty high end as far as budget mice go. There's also the fantech aria 2 that goes for less than 50$ and is 53g, that shares its shape with the Zaopin Z1 Pro at around the same price range. The zaopin already comes with 4k polling rate but is a tad smaller and a little pricier than the Aria 2.
@@raresvitelariu3428 Hi, I'm not sure I know many mice in recent years that use AA batteries, aside from established brands like logitech, razer, or steelseries for that matter (though who still uses steelseries mice nowadays). Tbh, if you're looking for that lightweight egg shape that still uses AA, then the Orochi V2 is really your only choice. however if you're not too insistent on the shape, then the Razer Viper V2 Hyperspeed (not pro, the pro uses rechargable battery) is a pretty good choice, though it is a bit heavier than the orochi at 88g, a tad bit bigger and is a little bit pricier at 70 usd. If you're okay with chinese brands and fine with non-replaceable batteries, then the MCHOSE g3 pro is pretty much a g305 clone with modern specs (omron switches, paw3395 sensor, TTC silver scrolls etc.), weighs only 60g and comes at around 40 usd. I also recommend either the Fantech aria 2 or the Zhaopin Z1 pro, both share the same shape (slightly modified orochi v2 shape) and are similarly priced at the 50$ range, with the Z1 pro already equipped with 4k polling, while the fantech fits more hand sizes because it's slightly bigger than the Z1 Pro.
This mouse fulfills almost all of my requirements: AA batteries - instant battery swap without the hassle of charging it. Bluetooth - No pesky dongle which use up my port. And many gaming mouse drops BT options for no freaking reason. All hard plastic built - It is kinda rare to see a mouse with such built because rubber coating gets sticky and grimes accumulates on it over time which you cant really cleans it. Things I wish it has: Left - Right toggle on the scroll wheel - Assigning it to back and forward is a navigation joy in windows explorer and browser RGB - With the semi transparent bottom shell, Logitech really missed the opportunity of adding RGB on this mouse as the design screams cool light show with its design. I'm getting the white one for my brand new ROG G14 2024~!!!
For a mouse that has no problems, people sure as hell like to cry about it. This mouse is better then the G305 in everysingle way. Its so odd the Amount of Hate this mouse Gets despite the fact that its better in litterally Everysingle aspect Acrost the Entire Board. The only problem this mouse has, isnt even related to the mouse physically but rather logitechs Ludicrous priceing. Thankfully i was able to Snag a G309 on Ebay for 40 dollars Brand new. This is the most Underrated Mouse i think i have ever seen.
G305 is my all time favourite mouse but what keeps me from using it since years back is the god aweful scroll wheel that barely lasts half a year, I wish they would just rerelease an updated version of the g305
There is an improvment, optical switches promise way longer lifespan than 305. And AA battery power is big plus as I hate charging stuff and replace mouse after 2years as battery degraded.
yo if you like the g305 i recommend you get an mchose g3 as a replacement, its lighter with a better sensor and better switches but the shape itself is basically a clone of the g305, also gonna mention the zaopin z1 pro as its even better but the shape is slightly different, still an egg shape like the g305 but with different sides and a slightly smaller shape (which i adore personally) but yeah the g309 sucks and doesnt really have a target audience
Probably will be a much better choice after it starts to drop in price. Also, 5 grams is actually very light and it's not that strange for the back panel to be that weight. Note that the AA to AAA adapter is about 4 grams. You can get away with just using half the adapter to save some weight. Or, if you don't mind being a little ghetto, use a ball of foil for about 0.2 grams. 😆
You guys always make cons way out of proportions... It's a great mouse, especially if you don't plan on charging frequently and changing it due to the degraded battery. It's an improvement in every way
i just got mine, don't trust these people way too much, i had 305 and yes it's just bit "bigger" and expensive but trust me, the design feels good on hands and the shape is bit more comfortable for your hands:) get ittt if u have extra bucks, if budget then 305
i hope so too man, i use it for graphic design works with my 20 cm long hands, i couldnt be more happier on how comfortable it feels and how click sounds as well; they are not too loud and not too quiet and i love it!! hope it works for you too man!! 🙏🔥

some people like weighted mice
I actually do too, but I know there are a lot of actual benefits for having a lighter mouse and people prefer that nowadays
The biggest problem is the price and the fact that it has few colors, but I consider it an improvement.
Bluetooth is a huge upgrade for Mac + PC gamers
I mean it looks cool, if you dont like it you dont like it..
Every hannd has its own mouse, buy the ones that feels the best in your hand.
I agree, for me it was just not seeing a weight change, even though I usually like heavier mice anyways ha
G305 is 99gr with AA
You should try out the MCHOSE G3 Ultra, it is the g305 shape at 64grams and is rechargable
I just bought it and am extremely satisfied.
