Always loved their cold, isolated, lonely atmosphere.
It's just the beginning. A brilliant listening experience.
Daniel this has to be another album listen this entire album Unknown Pleasures is a masterpiece one of the best albums ever made! There are sooo many great songs on this masterpiece, Day of the lords, New Dawn Fades, Shadowplay, Shes lost control, just to name a few. Youll enjoy this
Yeah, I actually am listening to all of it:) Accidentally uploaded video #2 first, but now it's back in order.
Thank you for watching!!
I saw Peter Hook and the Light last week. They played the entire albums of Unknown Pleasures and Closer. Easily one of the best shows I have ever seen, and I have seen some really good live shows.
@@caneyebus I would love to see hooky and his band at least once in my life. I'm glad you had a great time, cheers!
Since you like Joy Division, you should check out the band Television. Their album Marquee Moon is a masterpiece and was very influential in alternative music. I don't think I have seen any reactions to Television. I think you would enjoy them very much!
I looked them up to see if I had heard them. I had.

I’ll bet he’d dig Marquee Moon
@@rydelldownward7808 He might like Bauhaus The Spy In The Cab on Old Grey Whistle Test. He also does Ziggy Stardust on that same set.
This is a great suggestion, that record rules.
@@ronnierockit4468 Thank you! I was going to suggest Romeo Void also. I don't see that one much on reactions with the exception of Never Say Never. I think I Mean It is an awesome song from their album Warm, In Your Coat. The whole album is excellent though. Another very underrated post punk band.
Love that you are exploring Joy Division- one of the most original and influential bands. From this album, you have to react to Insight, New Dawn Fades, She’s Lost Control and Shadowplay. Dead Souls and Transmission are also other songs you must hear. Keep up the great work.
It's amazing how this music immediately puts a smile on your face
The fascinosum about Joy Division is , how much aesthetical beauty they had inside the deep darkness of the lyrics.
My all time favourit band.
I agree masterpiece
Where have i been? So much catching up to do. And look where you've landed. Wow! Love Joy Division. LOVE them.
I'm enjoying your exploration of Joy Division. I'm not familiar with their discography. This number has a cool punkish vibe. Yes, the vocals and bass are very cool indeed.
Daniel, I understand about epilepsy myself and when you do have one for me I can't hear people around me. Like I am in my own world. People would laugh at me when I was a child and the isolation. Now I am older and still talking medicine for it. The reason I have it is because my Brrain died a few minutes during my open Heart surgery. At. NIH. Hospital. The best song that I ever heard for this is Mark Wells (Don't laugh at me) .
I love that it just clicked with you. It's cool watching your face change as certain parts of the song come in. Some people find this music difficult, but I think it's amazing. Truthfully it's been so long since I first listened to JD, but I do remember it taking some time for certain songs to sink in. I probably enjoyed this one from the start though! It's one of my faves.
Unknown Pleasures is a masterpiece, but i think their second album, Closer, is even better, Decades, The Eternal, and Twenty Four Hours are so dark, up there with “In a Lonely Place”
For me it's 24hours that grabs my soul, Honesty from Ian on how he was feeling Closer is a very hard to listen to without wishing what could have been RIP to the greatest Lyracist ever
I couldn't agree with you more. Closer is haunting.
I found out about JD when the Killers covered ShadowPlay which I thought was an amazing original…but it was a cover.
In my top 5 favorite songs ever. I can get so lost in this tune
Great reaction. I’m hoping you do the rest of the album.
You are the first person I have heard describing Joy Division's sound as "fun"!
This album is perfect. You’re going to love it.
I would like to listen this for the first time. Again ❤️
I said it before (on Day of the Lords)...
I highly recommend going to see a Peter Hook and the Light live show!!! Peter (bassist/founding member of Warsaw/Joy Division/New Order) Hook plays shows generally consisting setlists that play two complete albums (Joy Division or New Order). Current tour includes Unknown Pleasures and Closer
I have no complaints for continuing track by track listening. ❤️
Try “Transmission” and “She’s Lost Control”
You Americans seem to have been given a blessing: Go with any flow, respect technology, show some superficial empathy, never talk about content in public, embrace craftmanship, never understand punkish things and thus spiral into technocratic oblivion.
Special. Wow!
Ian Curtis yes tragic story.....one of fav bands back in my punk heyday
Hopefully you do more punk
Clash
Ramones
Buzzcocks
Sex pistols
PIL
Damned
saw most of these bands back in the day
Try Joy Division 'Atmosphere'.
If you liked Turn On The Bright Lights you need to check the next 3 albums, before bassist Carlos D. left. Check out Not Even Jail, Take you on a cruise and Public Pervert.👍
Love this tune.
This was about the book Crash.
“Isolation” is a great, high energy, joy division song
You should watch it live on tv show year two 1978 they around 1977 to 1980
Not their finest You Gotta Try, Day Of The Lords & a hauntingly insightful TWENTY FOUR HOURS a true JD anthem
Fantastisk platta på ren Svenska.
I am going backwards through these, and disorder sounds almost like surf guitar, plus Ian doesn't sound like he will hang himself shortly. Am quite drunk and vaguely happy - maybe a different approach to Joy Division - yes I know the origin of the name.
este tema te envuelve genial.
If you like JD, check out New Order. Basically, JD after the suicide of vocalist Ian Curtis.
like unique? The Smiths should be your next one.... also don't miss out on Alan Parsons Project
Dare I suggest Bauhaus?
Yes, please!
This is a band that kids these days don't know but wear the t shirt.......
Like my daughter, she also wears the Smiths, Navana and oasis...
Early stuff by The Fall
Nice, just doesn't do anything for me. Glad you are enjoying it. Looks like you have some solid fans here so your journeys will be appreciated. All the best.
Second!
I feel that those Genious interpretations ar so random, interpreteing what the lyrics supposedly wanna talk about.. I think to undertand a lyric you read it and find some things interesting and may be grow on u knowing more of the artist, etc. Of course is nice to have a commentary, but sometimes I feel what they say there has nothing to do with the song at all, or just comes into some cliche conlusions. "The singer is depressed".. oh cammon men xD. I say it with love of course, but how do you know "he is depressed". Also, I think is just a bieas cause ogf the tragedy that happened to Ian, but maybe that's not what he wanted to express at all, sometimes poetry is more ambiguous :)
Just in case this is not a critique to you Daniel at all, you do what you do; just saying.
Inaccurate lyrics.
