2:50 that whole flying animation is really cool for such an old game, the newer titles like FU and GU have the "fly up and in a straight Line" thing which is really weird.
This series may have started out with plenty of flaws and jankiness, but one thing they definitely did very well right off the bat was monster designs and animations. 👍

That it has. It's kind of wild to think back on how many hours I sank into this game, long before they came up with the QOL changes we now take for granted. 😅
it´s impressive how much the franchise has evolved over the years, the first game I barely played was the Tri one for Wii, it wasn´t mine, then a demo of Generation Ultimate for switch and finally got Rise, it´s simply a great game, it took me 3 attempts to get the gameplay then it clicked, before I knew it I got to 150 hours of playing
I actually had to miss Gen2 due to not having a PSP and the second installment on PS2 never making it to US shores. I got back into the series with MH3U on the 3DS, but didn't get fully back into the swing of things until MH4U and MHGen, where I once again logged hundreds of hours on each game, just like I did with the OG installment, way back on PS2. I'm still active on both World and Rise, where I have 1800+ hours on World, and around 100+ on Rise and... err, Rising. 😂
Ah old monster hunter, where even if they fly out of your reach. They'll just stay in the air indefinitely till theu actually start to settle on a place. Unlike now, where after flying they just go to a new area
i remembered killing rathalos with dragon agito and yian kut kut armor. first thing first, is to set up the trap and put a couple of large barrel bomb. such a good memory

Siegmund is an Endgame Greatsword. You need to grind for a Rathalos Ruby to create it. And Rathalos Rubies are found on G-Rank Rathalos, the Rank where casuals won't ever reach without getting Good or without the help of friends.

The first strong monster that i faced in Monster Hunter 1. I played this game in 2006. I tried almost 5 times to finally slayed this wyvern. The most dangerous move from him is a poisonous claw from the sky.
Awesome video. It's almost like a window to an older age. lol I definitely much prefer fighting Rathian over Rathalos. Significantly less time wasted in the air, and a lot easier to punish thanks to her triple fireball attack. It's why I go for Rathian armor over Rathalos armor, even though the skills aren't nearly as good.

I personally think MH1 was one the hardest games in the series (when I was younger) due how clunky the animation was but then people figured out how to headlock most monsters with spears. Plate runs slowly killed me though and gravios wings. Made alot of random friends and we always gathered on MSN. I wonder where you are now guy with big muscles.

Yep. While mixing armor sets for skill builds is common now, at the time I swapped out a few pieces of Rath gear for Monoblos mostly because I preferred the look of Mono's pauldrons over Rath's. Besides this, the Siegmund was probably my favorite weapon in the game at the time. 😁
@volkerball85 I wore full silver sol and full dragon X for most of mhfu endgame cuz they looked really cool. My favorite weapons were tormentor, wrathful beheader, and the shogun bowgun. Tormentor was my go to weapon in low rank, plus it’s a big ass scythe. Shogun bowgun looks super sick with shield attachment and carried me almost as much as hr13 people. Wrathful beheader is there to remind me of the perpetual agony of farming DoTK to get heavenly rath scales that I needed to craft this and full silver sol. Honestly, every armor and weapon I had in mhfu has a story to it, each equipment I made in that game were achievements that flipped a page through my mh experience.

The earliest game they still maintain a database for is MH3U on 3DS and Wii-U. I think so too. Aside from the general jankiness inherent to it being the very first game, it wasn't super balanced. For instance, all monsters throughout the series get an ATK boost from enraging, right? But it's a relatively modest percentage boost. Rathalos in MH1? 60% boost in ATK once enraged. Good luck if you don't have good armor. 😂

Yep. I actually failed this one numerous times solely because the bastard legit WOULD NOT LAND, and would actually run out the clock on me by either staying in the air the entire time, or hopping from zone to zone to avoid me. 😩
@@volkerball85 True, but Rathalos is just the beginning. Once you get to the Plesioth hunt or the egg delivery quests, you'll know true torture. My brothers rage quitted the game after numerous attempts at Plesioth, and dozens of attempts at the egg runs. I told them afterwards, "You see? This is why egg runs shouldn't be done solo."

However, I sucked at using a Lance as a result of being too good with a GS.
Also the reason for him outranging Rathalos is because he needed to attack with the right stick

Playing Freedom, I found out Rathalos both in village and Guild quest is unlocked in 4 star. While in gen 2 onwards he's mostly in 5 star and above.

Yep. I actually failed this one numerous times solely because the bastard legit WOULD NOT LAND, and would actually run out the clock on me by either staying in the air the entire time, or hopping from zone to zone to avoid me. 😩
@@volkerball85 True, but Rathalos is just the beginning. Once you get to the Plesioth hunt or the egg delivery quests, you'll know true torture. My brothers rage quitted the game after numerous attempts at Plesioth, and dozens of attempts at the egg runs. I told them afterwards, "You see? This is why egg runs shouldn't be done solo."
