  • A model with Volume reflects and refacts light at depth of the model and not just on the surface. This tutorial describes what Volume is and provides detailed instructions, using Blender, to apply it to a model of a colored translucent glass. Additionally, there is discussion with examples showing the rendered effects of varying various parameters.

Great idea to put out these feature highlight videos! 👏👏👏

This is for those facing issues and are not able to see the volume effect in any GLTF viewer.
You'll need to increase the thickness to something like 0.5 to see the effects.
Also, you'll need to tick the checkbox for custom properties while exporting.
    Otherwise, it won't work.

Anyone have tips on a setup for a glass bottle that contains a transparent liquid? If I follow these steps and create the bottle with a thickness map, the glass part looks good, but the liquid inside doesn't show up at all.

I have a question, why does the thickness map looks non uv unwrapped, why is that?

Shouldnt the 'Thickness' parameter have been named IOR? Isnt that how most renderers/apps do it?
