I acquired a HAR last week and this is indeed an impressive instrument. Feels like a vintage 50s piece. Definitely a sleeper amongst the custom shop offerings. The relicing is impeccable and the neck shape is really comfortable, even for my smaller hands. I do understand the initial price on these ones when comparing to my other CS instruments. Oh, i noticed that a small rotating of the letters loosens them. So if that sets you off, remove them and store them in the case for harry, the next owner.....
You're spot on regarding the '54/55 pickups on strats. The late Eddy Shaver's(son of Billy Joe Shaver)favorite strat was a '55 and it was beefier than your typical strat. I use a set of Bare Knuckle Irish Tours with flat pole pieces and metal baseplates in my Eric Johnson strat to get that beefy early/mid 50s strat tone.
@@PeachGuitars ill tell you what Jack we can swap jobs for the day! You can build highspeed doors all day and ill come and play some of the guitars at peach 😂😂
Well done. you play like a master. Must be all that practise and listening. I waste so much time because I wait for inspiration. I have other aspects of life to deal with.
You could peel the letters off, colour in where the paints missing with a black sharpie & paint in where the scratchplate missing with Tipex - Job done!!!
I am wondering who is in the market for such a guitar?! owning the original makes sense, but a reproduction? Who here has listened to Gene Vincent's music? Buddy Holly? when I was young, we had some rockabilly kids in my building... in the 70's! Meanwhile, Jeff Healey never got any kind of tribute or signature guitar. He was a MIJ Squier guy, but why has he been ignored by Fender so far?
Great tone, great playing, Jack! Thank you for highlighting this guitar!
I am a big fan of maple fingerboard Strats with 50's pickups.
Oh yeah, Jack with a Fender amp. We're only a Tele short of perfection, though this Strat is pretty darn snappy.
Joe Bonamassa guitar collection preservation of all time greatest 6string delight's!☺. One of the most hardworking musicians! Great vid Jack 😃
Very good overview & insights, and great playing!
I agree that those early style pickups sound great too!
Its funny how a guitar goes from the R&R Hall of fame to a private collection. crazy how that happens
Love the 50s riffs! Always enjoy those sounds.

Wow.. Simply superb. Hope to get one of those.

Was wondering plexi style amp settings when using a Strat. Great content. Thx.
That does sound really nice. I wonder if they will offer these specs as a team built guitar that you can order any time
Jack gets to sit down with some of the best guitars in the shop.... it's a hard life 😂😂 I think that should be the title of this series
It’s harder than it seems! Honestly... Trust me... I swear! - Jack

I mean what doesn't Bonamassa own now?!
All my strats are black. All four. I just can't own anything but a black guitar for long.
What Fender Amp did you use?

name of first song played?
So do the stupid looking letters come as an option like in a sticker pack or do you have to have them on it?

Hard to believe Howard’s Strat weighed 9.5 lbs when he bought it in ‘55. I’m sure the Custom Shop version owners appreciate the 7.5 lb weight….LOL
That thing sounds great. Wish I had a extra pile of cash laying around. ( Big pile )
Why the best strat of the shop has to be already be on sale???
