    1. Introduction to Asthma
    - Gain foundational knowledge of asthma as a chronic respiratory disease.
    2. Pathophysiology of Asthma
    - Understand the underlying mechanisms of asthma, focusing on airway inflammation, bronchoconstriction, and hyperresponsiveness.
    - Learn about different asthma phenotypes, such as allergic, non-allergic, and exercise-induced asthma.
    3. Clinical Presentation
    - Recognize the cardinal symptoms of asthma, including wheezing, cough, and shortness of breath.
    - Explore the variations in clinical presentations across age groups and severities.
    4. Diagnostic Criteria and Tools
    - Familiarize yourself with the diagnostic criteria based on the latest clinical guidelines, including spirometry and peak flow measurements.
    - Explore the utility of bronchoprovocation tests and imaging studies.
    5. Management Strategies for Asthma
    - Delve into the stepwise approach to asthma management based on the Global Initiative for Asthma (GINA) guidelines.
    - Discuss pharmacological interventions, including short-acting and long-acting bronchodilators and anti-inflammatory medications.
    6. Asthma Exacerbations
    - Understand the triggers and signs of an asthma exacerbation.
    - Learn about the evidence-based management of acute exacerbations, including the role of corticosteroids and hospitalization criteria.
    7. Asthma in Special Populations

    Dude, thank you so much for this video. Its so well done. Im not a medical student or anything like that. I am 32 and I have had asthma my entire life. I just decided tonight to learn as much as I can about my condition. You answered so many questions I have. Also, you gave me the ability to better communicate with my doctor. Thank you so much

    I do have a question if happened someone with asthma came and she is already on SABA and ICS but she had exacerbated asthma you modified her medications and saw her after few months to see if she improved what medications you are going to de escalate. However, I heard even the ladder you mentioned in the video has changes and they don’t depend much on it anymore. What are the new guidelines then

    • @kandacepereira795
      @kandacepereira795 2 месяца назад +1

      I think according to BTS sign and nice guidelines it is Saba and ics then combination inhaler of these two then if not working add in leukotriene

    • @LM-ig7fj
      @LM-ig7fj 2 месяца назад +1

      @@kandacepereira795 idk but from what I have read they don't consider saba anymore cause remodeling happens mostly with it. They prefer LABA now

    • @salva_abuor
      @salva_abuor 2 месяца назад +2

      According to the Global Initiative for Asthma 2023 SABA PRN is used as a reliever in case of acute exacerbation. Low dose ICS-LABA is the starting point and then step up.

      @@salva_abuor yees I saw GINA 2023 guidelines and it is pretty much similar to SINA 2023 guidelines but SINA uploaded 2024 guidelines and they use LABA now. I believe we are going to see a major change
