      @@votim6038 No genders, barely any exceptions to verb conjugations, no cases(kinda), and stupidly easy pronunciation. Mr. Language Simp has faulty eyes so he doesn’t read anyway, so learning kanji is not really something he would need to do. From a speaking and listening point of view, Japanese really is not that hard. Sure it gets harder if you want to be more nuanced, but that’s a much more advanced thing. If he wanted to get to idk, B2 or something, it really isn’t that bad. It’s just different from English is all(which is fine because he is experienced with learning languages so he is comfortable with learning new structures), but it’s not *difficult* and *complex * like Russian or Arabic.

    • @votim6038
      @votim6038 7 месяцев назад +2

      @@block_head_steve240 I agree with your arguments, but overall I dont. Japanese does have cases even though in the form of suffixes. Kanji are imperative to learn, and ones you start you realise how really deep the rabbit hole is. Kanji could have up to 20 (maybe more) different readings THAT EVEN DONT ALWAYS APPLY DUE TO EXEPTIONS, and almost like this wasn't enough there is over 30,000 of them 😱. Of course if you just throw aside such an enormous chunk of the language it will be much easier to learn Japanese, but in that case why would you bother learning russian grammar?..(Just speak with no cases no genders neglecting exeptions, and natives will still understand you). And you will still spend good half of your life by just studying formal, informal, and very formal types of speech that change everything dramatically. Nonetheless the hardest part I find about Japanese so far is natural(every day life) speech that is nothing like textbook🤷‍♂️. As russian and hebruw speaker that learns japanese I am pretty sure that japanese is harder.
      UPD: "Stupidly easy pronunciation" brother, I bet you sound nothing like japanese speaker unless you are one.

    • @block_head_steve240
      @block_head_steve240 7 месяцев назад

      @@votim6038 My accent is fine(you want me to read you something or what?), plus logically it’s true-that’s why it’s completely fine that they speak so fast-there are 0 consonant clusters or ш and щ or anything like that. The only maybe difficult accent thing is pitch, and I’ll concede that maybe as a musician, my experience may not be the same as some other people’s.
      As for kanji being a huge part of the language, it is, and I only brought up neglecting learning reading not because I would recommend it or would do it, but because it is what LS would do due to his medical condition; the initial point you were making was that he is actually scared, and I was offering simply an additional reason why I don’t think that is true. LS himself has said that reading Arabic and Russian brings him pain, so he stopped reading altogether. As for the formal, informal, etc, that’s definitely true, but that’s not something you would really need to worry about until later on in the process(at least to me, maybe this perception isn’t quite right).
      I think he would have a lot of fun learning Japanese, because he definitely had a blast with dabbling in Turkish for a month, which is pretty similar grammatically. I think that acting like Japanese is the most difficult language on earth or something is misleading , and even if it was, the more important part of language learning than the “difficulty” is motivation and media, and I think we can both agree that there is plenty of Japanese media and plenty to be passionate about.

      Actually, it isn’t, as it isn’t a pretty language with mostly pretty words, and most languages are not pretty - the truly alpha languages that all should be learning are the prettiest languages ever created Norse / Icelandic / Dutch / English / Norwegian / Gothic / Faroese / Danish / Welsh / Breton / Cornish which are the most heavenly and refined and poetic languages ever with the coolest sound patterns and sounds and pronunciation rules and the most organized aspect that are way too pretty not to know, and they are also the most fun to learn and speak and hear and see, instead of trying to learn non-pretty languages! (Japanese and Chinese languages and Korean etc are non-pretty languages with mostly non-pretty words that sound funny and harsh and angry, and there is no logical reason to learn languages that aren’t pretty and professional and serious sounding, and most other languages also, and, choosing wisely (only the pretty and easy languages) is key to being a successful polyglot!)

      Esperanto is nice, and it can be learnt on the side, but it is not even close to the best languages ever - the best languages and the truly alpha languages that all should be learning are the prettiest languages ever created Norse / Icelandic / Dutch / English / Norwegian / Gothic / Faroese / Danish / Welsh / Breton / Cornish which are the most heavenly and refined and poetic languages ever with the coolest sound patterns and sounds and pronunciation rules and the most organized aspect that are way too pretty not to know, and they are also the most fun to learn and speak and hear and see, instead of trying to learn non-pretty languages!

      Pfff, what ns and db response - all I stated is an obvious objective fact, and one that tries to deny the truth has hern issues or maybe ear and eye issues, and it’s a fact that Esperanto is just on the avrg-pretty side, not even close to being one of the best languages lol, besides, it doesn’t have diversity and variation as it only has one boring word ending for each group of words, and its grammar is very incorrect and doesn’t sound right at all, and even its plurals are kinda funny, and there shouldn’t be an i / y sound right after an o sound, as it’s not a good letter combination, and it doesn’t sound right at the end of the word, and it can only sound okay when in combination with certain letters!

    Good luck with russian. I have been studying that language on my own for 4 years. I can write on my keyboard with russian letters, i can write the language with a pen in cursive. But you have to understand that russian is a bigger headache than you think. Every word connects to a case. The problem is to remember it all and it works differently than english language. я в этом сомневаюсь. I doubt this. In bad english it would be "i doubt in this". Not only the verbs has this but also the nouns. So if i would say я отправил заявку на получение денег. You can already see in this sentence that отправил means заявка has to be заявку because it is accusative with the verb отправить and then we have заявка which needs to be на что-либо accusative case and then after that we put деньги into the чего-либо (genetive case) so then its денег. Its hard man to remember all this. And you can learn all the spelling rules you want but it is always going to be some nasty noun conjugations. Thats something i realized after 4 years. That all the verbs and nouns connects to different cases that we are not used to. I focused alot on verbs in the beginning and drank vodka heavily 3 times a week, played the accordeon and listened to russian music while communicating and writing down new verbs. I wish you luck. Like you said in the other video the language really ruins your mental health. Mine was broken down to 5% for a long time.
