The problem with this is that it comes from VALVE of all companies. It would be fine if it was made by Blizzard, EA or Riot Games. But the bar for Valve games is so high that just looking at this makes me think "This ain't it bro, not from Valve". I hope it fails, just like Artifact did. I hope this because i want Valve to make something more interesting than a Dota 2 with Fortnite gunplay and visuals.
Its got nothing from Overwatch and Valorant. Knowing that those games were inspired by MOBA games... like Dota 2. So its quite literally Dota 2 but with Fortnite visuals and gunplay.

It's not a 1:1 remake, it's got plenty to differentiate itself from the source material the devs worked with. This game is in it's alpha stages at the moment but looks like its already got an identity crisis trying to be several games at once. Full zoomer ADHD spec.

Way back when speculation was going wild and this was made out to be some sort of big multiplayer game in the half-life universe with trains to ship people around the map etc i was pretty excited but wtf dude this looks like the most generic shit ever. paladins / smite clone and someone at valve heard moby francke worked there so they had a peak at dishonored and stuff that looked like it like bioshock infinite and made it like that. Any lessons from like the tf2 character designs going over their head ofcourse. This really killed all excitement i had.

Probably some dev wanted to make this and a lot of other ppl at valve wanted to do it, it got greanlighted and the project went pretty smoothly so Gabe did not jump out and say "no we didn't do anything new here just cancel it" like what they did with L4D3. For 1 I have faith and is intrigued to see what valve can bring to this market. I miss paragon and with Dota 2 balance experience and philosophy no doubt this game would be fun at least for a while. And to think the potential of steam market place you can trade items instead of just putting money into valve's market it sounds much more fun than buying cosmetics in Apex or some other games.
