32:21 - Some ppl might missunderstand that, calligng it vulnurable is already giving it way to much credit. it takes reduced damage. i think it takes only 10% of any non penning dmg so overall calling it vulnurable migth me missleading, its pretty much a desperate last resort attempt and i do not reccomend going for it, it will take ages to blow the but up with anything non explosive, as it takes normal damage from explosive weapons (excluding primary weapons, as they are all pretty much trash, the exploding variants). and over all, heavies are super easy to just juke and run literal circles arround them, and if you want to take them out you can just stick a drop pod with like supplies or even expendaple AT when you aim slightly out from their body from where their front legs connect to teh torso. it will make teh stratogem stick to thema nd it will kill them 100% of the time. Additionally well placed expendable or recoiles shot to teh mouth directly blows the head off in one shot right on the spot, eliminating the need to shot anything with primary at all when compared to stripping leg armor.

I would say it's MUCH more important to make sure Brood Commanders don't call a bug breach on higher difficulties, because if they are the ones who call a bug breach on those difficulties, it's almost guaranteed that a Bile Titan is coming out. The smaller bugs can't summon a Titan

    • @ivanfranebijelic7009
      @ivanfranebijelic7009 5 месяцев назад +18

@adamkent639 If you are on objectives, they can call in anything, if it's a patrol, it depends on who makes the call. If a hive guard or commander calls in on an objective, you'll be lucky if you only get 3-4 chargers and 3-4 titans

    • @stuperman117
      @stuperman117 4 месяца назад +6

@adamkent639 It depends on three things.
The selected Operation's difficulty (1-9 currently as of this post).
The 'heat map' of the match (which changes depending on how much time is left in a mission and how many tactical objectives and outposts have been dealt with. However, doing the main objective first on missions that have that, will instantly max out the heat map, which then causes maximum patrols and largest reinforcement call ins)
And rank of the caller, if early in a match as well as low to medium heat map.
I've seen scavengers call in bile titans and chargers, because the main objective has been completed and all outposts and tactical objectives have been finished. I have also witnessed scavengers, especially early on in missions call in no higher than a brood commander. But that also depends on difficulty again. Despite difficulty 7 being a great challenge, it does not have as many heavy units as difficulty 9, where it doesn't matter the rank or time of a match or heat map, you will see at least a bile titan come in.
But then again, this could be changed at some point, so who knows.

Large Terminids are fueled by adrenaline, so they can move for some time after they are dead. Charger also follows this, when you pop their butt, they are already dead. Leave them alone for a bit and they would drop dead. Bile Titan also do this.
The dangerous one is actually Bile Spewer because the bastard likes to play dead and jump you when unexpected. Pay attention to the one you “kill” and you will often see this on top of the “dead body” that lies in wait.

For any divers just starting out without squads, my main recommendations are:
Get expendable anti-tank launcher if you're gonna be fighting bots. You can call down a pod with two every minute and on like solo medium difficulty, they oneshot basically all armored bots you run across. Also the Redeemer (the secondary auto-pistol) is good for panic-dealing with berserkers, you can be running away from a couple, don't use aim down sights, just hipfire at the berserker, if you dump your whole mag it goes down basically every time.
For bugs, get Stalwart, the LMG that you can reload while moving. It REALLY helps.

One very annoying thing about Commissars: They are FAST. I believe they are near to or equal to you when you're in Light Armour, though they do have to be in a full sprint so the only form of defence they have is evasion - they cannot shoot back for as long as they are sprinting, and one single glowing blade that is waving around is pretty easy to spot. One thing I've noticed that they do, they either immediately call in a dropship as soon as the firefight starts, or they run as close to you as they can THEN call it in, so the dropship will show up right above you and drop enemies on top of you.

Grenades (especially impacts) are great against striders, and not necessarily an enemy thing, but you can ricochet the autocannon shots down the vents of a fabricator to one shot it from super far away, plus the autocannon is good against all the bots, taking out striders head on, taking out raider groups, dealing with tanks and base turrets/cannons, headshotting hulks, it really does do it all. Just be mindful of the reload (you can only reload 5 ammo at a time, and if you reload from empty it takes a lot longer, so count your shots)
Also another thing on striders, but also generally, they dont have a large cone of vision, and most of the bots kinda dont either, so if you are pinned down or getting overwhelmed, running around to an unexpected area will leave them atill shooting or running to where you were

  • @RichSmithson

Berserkers will still try to attack you without arms. They get within melee range and try to kick you. But its so slow its barely any threat. Alot of the time I just blow their arms off and leave them to it.
Also the best place to shoot a Dropship is one of the 4 engines. They blow up really easy and you only need to take out the 1 engine for the other 3 to make it tumble to the ground and blow up.

another thing is when one enemy is summoning a bot drop or bug break if you interrupt them and kill them another enemy will try to summon it, and the same goes if you kill them. so in order to effectively prevent drops/breaks you basically have to play wackamole by looking for the next enemy calling reinforcements and interrupting them. for bots it's pretty obvious for bugs it can be harder to tell but they give off a distinct sound cue when they call. it's like a double beat cry, if you listen you'll hear it abd know where to shoot.

Hulks can be 2-shot from the front with the RR/quasar/EAT with one shot to each leg; the first hit to a leg will slow them down, making them easier to deal with, a hit to the other leg will finish the Hulk.

Bot dropships are 1-shot-kill with E-AT or the new Q-cannon if you hit an engine nacelle. I pretty much always run dropship interception for my squad, typical loadout being Sickle main, Senator secondary (it now has medium armor penetration and is fantastic), impact grenades, shield generator backpack (because you're insane to not have a personal shield fighting bots), and the almighty new Q-cannon. Pretty damn good loadout for dealing with a wide array of threats, and not really having to worry about ammo, which lets your buddies run stuff that needs the ammo pickups you come across in the field.
Remember, your loadout should complement your squad's loadout and the mission objectives/difficulty. Experiment, and find combos that give good squad synergy. I usually run the light armor outfit that gives me 2 extra grenades, and +30% stability when crouched, which helps a ton with across the map Q-cannon shots, or effectively turning the Sickle into a long range sniper with infinite ammo. Also lets you catch up with your squad if you find yourself falling behind due to anti-vehicle support role (much easier to track and shoot down a dropship from 150-200 yards than 10 yards, or any moving vehicle for that matter).

Notes for early-game players: The Anti-Material Rifle can one-shot Warriors, Bile Spewers and Devastators if you land a headshot. It can also 2-shot Hulks, Berserkers and Hive Guards. Further note: It pierces the armor of Guards, but not Chargers. Shooting a Strider's hip twice will drop the walker, but the Soldier will survive. 2-shotting the armored plate will kill both.
Also, from my experience the Guards are very unlikely to call for backup. It's almost exclusively Scavengers.
Further note: Warriors and Commanders without heads can no longer see you and blindly charge your last known location before dying.

The new infinite ammo Q-cannon can destroy cannon turrets from across the map with just 2 hits regardless of which side you hit.
If you're up close, you should have a personal energy shield (because why the hell are you fighting bots without one?), which can absorb a direct hit, saving your life, even in light armor. This makes it way easier to hit 'em with your god-tier Q-cannon or E-ATs.

Something to add with Chargers: you can also insta-kill them with heavy-duty weaponry such as the Quasar Cannon or Recoilless Rifle if you manage to headshot them. It's a more risky option, but if you have enough distance between you and it, or if they're somehow prevented from moving, it's a valid option.

Absolute best way to deal with chargers is to send an E-AT into their face. Bam, done.
Carry an E-AT when fighting bugs, and when you see a charger, call in the E-AT drop (which can take out a charger, btw). Assuming your drop kills it, this method means you can take out up to 4 chargers in a very short time. First killed by drop, then one killed by E-AT already on your back, then the drop pod has 2 more E-ATs so you can finish off the rest. Also a great strategem to arm a buddy who isn't running a support weapon strategem.
The new Q-Cannon is not so great against chargers, despite having infinite ammo and 1-shot capability, and this is due to the long charge up period to shoot, so you often get headbutted before you can shoot them, or worse, it discharges point blank, killing both of you. For this reason, I think the E-AT still has a very effective role, as it lets you do snap-shot 1-hit kills on chargers.

Wanted to add something for all the Devastators, as it can be risky to try and hit that head at mid-range if your accuracy is off (whether from being pinged around by others shooting at you or you're on the move):
Aim for their waist. It isn't as applicable to the Shields, as...well, they have a shield, but, the rocket and normal variants are rather weak there (I imagine there IS armour there, but it isn't medium thats for sure). You can use most any weapon to just cut them in half, anything from the base Liberator rifle to the Redeemer machine pistol can do it, though a Punisher shot to the face to lean them back and a foloow up to the waist works pretty well too.

Treat the new bot gunships the same as stalkers; they will seek out and hunt you from the sky, and there is a factory on the map that makes them. Take out the factory, and no more gunships. Not the same thing as drop ships.
A new strategem was leaked, the Eagle Air-to-Air, which no doubt is to help with aerial threats such as these new gunships.

Note: As of now rockets do not instagib, that was apparently a bug. Rocket Raiders are a lot less lethal and feel more like grunt enemies. Rocket Devastators are also a lot less lethal but still dangerous, if you are in close to medium range the first rocket knocks you down it makes it really easy for them to hit every rocket after. Avoid putting walls anywhere but between you and them. If you see them pop a squat to lock in, drop to the side. And if there are enemies on you, remember, friendly fire applies to both us AND them.

Not sure if anyone took notice of this....but, when I using a incendiary breaker on a devastator I would have to use multiple mags just kill one devastator, but when I picked up a regular breaker and used it on a devastator I only used either one or two mags on it.
So when fighting automatons it's best not to use any weapon that are classified with incendiary type damage as they deal less damage to them
Another thing to note: The devastator with riot shield actually has no armor on their backside do to the "backpack" taking away the armor plate it would've had there. allowing light pen. weaponry to be capable of damaging the rear of the riot shield devastator.

In my experience actually all bugs seem to be able to cause a breach, it is just less likely from the small ones. Basically any that are twice the size of the scavengers seem to be able to trigger breaches.
The devs need to make breaches able to be prematurely stopped just like the dropships though, frankly it is bullshit that even killing the units that can trigger a breach will still cause it to spawn. It is just super unfun to just have constant breaches, especially solo.

    • @everettfisher8752
      @everettfisher8752 7 месяцев назад

you can actually stop the bugs from calling a breach, but the window is MUCH smaller than the bots - you have roughly half a second when the pheromones first appear to kill them. it's doable if you're paying attention with scavengers, but if a hive guard or brood commander starts their little war dance you're basically screwed. also worth mentioning that if you do stop them from calling reinforcements, another bug from the group will try instead, so if you do aggro a patrol killing them all very quickly (or at once with a stratagem) is pretty much the only way to stay safe

    • @ShiningDarknes
      @ShiningDarknes 7 месяцев назад

Best to just spray them with shotgun, LMG, or grenade launcher (autocannon works too, if only because it ragdolls everything due to the concussion radius being very large for no reason).
But yeah, bugs need a major rework in comparison to bots. The bots are technically more difficult over-all what with their ranged attacks and ability to one-shot you in multiple ways (including the tower cannons that can do so from 100m away if you aren't careful) but their limited numbers and relative ease of stopping them from calling backup makes them much easier on harder difficulties to deal with and actually have fun instead of kiting never ending bug breaches the entire match and having to rely on meta loadouts. Bots feel much more like the balance of HD1 compared to bugs.@@everettfisher8752

A few tips that i've picked up when fighting bugs are:
-The medium size bugs are not as aggressive as the small one, if they take any kind of fire they'll back off a bit and even cancel their charge move if they are warming up, so if you have to run away then switch to your secondary and spam a few rounds at them while running to keep them in place
-The Charger can be dealt with from the front using impact grenade or grenade launcher, just shoot it under the Charger and it'll be staggered, use this to kill it or make it stop the charge
-The Bile Titan isn't really dangerous on their own, you can easily outrun them by waitting for them to start the spitting attack then dodge and full sprint, this worked for me even with heavy armor. Best option is to find a high ledge and run up there and wait for them to come to you then drop down and run, they can't even walk down a small clift so they'll have to circle around it giving you loads of time to get away.
-The Bile Spewer plates above its head are thicker than the Nursing Sprewer so round from thing like the auto-cannon can bounce off it
-Prioritize killing the small bugs first because some of them will stay in the back and call for bugs breach

If I can add one more tip: Decapitating a Terminid Warrior or Brood Commander is not an on-off proposition. By destroying their head you are initiating a Timed Life sequence in which dealing additional damage depletes further seconds from their remaining life.
This means you can decapitate a distant Terminid and forget about them to save ammo, but if you're trying to be conservative in close range, you'll decapitate and side-dive away from them.
Or if you're simply trying to kill them as quickly as possible, decapitate and just keep shooting to deplete their timed life.
This is not the case for all Terminids, as decapitating a Scavenger, Spewer, Charger, Hunter, Stalker or Bile Titan is instant death.

A single shot to the _front_ takes out a strider. You can bounce the bullets into a fabricator vent to take it out saving you a lot of trouble and ammo. It's effective against Devastators.

    Some extra tips.
The walkers, having no rear protection, are extremely vulnerable to explosives, especially with their slow speed. grenades at their feet can easily wipe out those groups they clump up into.
The hulks are vulnerable in that frontal red slot to a high-penetration weapon. enough railgun fire or a single anti-tank missile there (expendable or recoilless) will destroy them instantly.
Cannon turrets are vulnerable to the autocannon. Three or so shots to the vents can destroy one. So, approaching a base from multiple angles to give your autocannon gunner a clear shot is a viable strategy.
As shown in the video, the tanks cannot angle their cannon low enough to shoot you if you're right next to them. They can also be climbed on top on. I don't know if sticking a stratagem beacon there makes the stratagem follow the tank, but it's worth a shot. the regular tank also has a machine gun mounted next to its cannon, so don't think that just because the cannon hasn't fired, that it can't kill you. That co-ax can make quick work of you.
The bugs being able to function without a head can make it confusing to see whether or not they have expired. However, they tend to ragdoll, even subtly. Watch for their limbs settling down to see if they have died or not and switch targets accordingly.
Thanks for the tip about targeting the bugs' legs and the charger tips. I think I'll try that out.

    2 things:
    1) Spewers are susceptible to explosion damage. Two grenades from a grenade launcher or a few autocannon shots deal with them (maybe more if not hit well). I think there are other enemies that have a weakness to explosion damage, e.g. the spore tower takes one grenade or autocannon shot but takes multiple rail cannon shots
    2) Chargers will not only stop charging when their butt is mangled. They will also bleed out after a moment as far as I can tell.

Couple notes: Hive guards have medium armor, not heavy, and you can 2-shot them in the face with the revolver, or use the liberator penetrator (edit: sg-8 punisher, also super weak to arc damage). Bile spewers (and other bugs with a 'soft spot') are a bit more detailed. The heads are vulnerable to bullets (except on higher difficulties, they get face armor) and the soft spots are vulnerable to explosive damage. Where you shoot should depend on what you are carrying.

I don't know if they take less than lethal damage from this at higher difficulties, but I can reliably kill a freshly spawned charger with one shot to the head with something like an expendable anti-tank or recoilless rifle, rather than hitting its leg and then dumping extra ammo. just thought it might be worth mentioning

Some KEY TIPS on STALKERS: Based on my own personal experience and what I have noticed:
1- You can spot their nest on the map (if it's not obstructed by gas/effects etc) and you can mark it RIGHT WHEN YOU START THE MISSION! The look of the nest on the map is essentially copy and paste between maps, you'll know you've found it when your maker will mark it with a square icon, and it'll pop up in your hud with the "Stalker Nest" objective icon.
2- I think the stalkers DO have a certain/limited range on the map from their nest. I've completed a mission, after destroying 1 stalker nest, and found that I missed 1 other nest. But havn't encountered any more stalkers after destroying the first nest. Another cenerio was when I completed a "Radar Mission" close to the start of a mission, and noticed 1 stalker nest, but it was in the South Eastern part of the map. I ONLY encountered stalkers when I got closer to THAT nest, not super sure how close though, I think 200-300 Meters?
One time on a solo bug mission when I was less experienced, I got ambushed by a stalker, and I wound up fighting 3-4 of them all at once in close range...... It is my fastest failed mission yet...........

Something I want to note: The autocannon is ALWAYS a solid pick regardless of what you're fighting (as long as you have someone or something to deal with Titans if you're fighting on the bug front).
For Automatons they can kill any medium enemy as long as you aim well enough in one or 2 shots, and even tanks ane hulks can go down in like 3+.
For Terminids, if you shoot a Hiveguard in the head it has the same effect as blowing the head off of a soldier, making them try to run at you and die 2 seconds later. (I like to think you just give them severe brain hemoraging since the head doesnt actually come off). Brood commander heads also come off in one shot, and you can even kill chargers with it, although this might take some practice. Chargers have a sweet spot on the back of their hind legs, which, if you hit it, makes the next autocannon shot that connects with the *front* of the back leg kill the charger instantly. You'll know you've hit the sweet spot if it makes shell particles and blood fly out of the leg.
It can't *kill* Titan's sadly but it is capable of taking out the 2 acid sacks on their underside so you can at least cripple them and soften them up for your teammates.

Also any smaller automaton with a backpack can explode upon death including the jet troopers which will insta kill you if close. Best way to deal with them is to get space and take out the legs as it will delay the explosion giving a little time to get away.

Not sure if this comment is only applicable after the March update, and therefore wasn’t covered in the video, but chargers and bile titans can both be one shot killed by EAT to the head or mouth.
The advantage here is EAT is attainable from a low level, drops two launchers, and has a quite high refresh rate. I never run terminids without the EAT. Crouch during shot placement for best accuracy and aim for the mouth or head. Accurate placement gives an insta kill. Same for dropships; shooting the thrusters prior to bots dropping will eliminate all on board and can quickly prevent divers from being overwhelmed.

Additional tip: The single use disposable launcher can two shot a bile titan and charger if you hit them in the head. Being that the supply pod drops two of them and that it can be called in every minute without modifiers, means that it is incredibly reliable and on-hand with little consequence if you lose it.
