  • I will be spending roughly the next three weeks traveling and fishing around Southeast Asia. My first fishing session of the trip was doing some pier fishing on the island of Phuket in Thailand.
While this session was a little short, I still managed to catch four species, two of them being new additions to the lifelist, and have many more bites. Hopefully I can increase the variety and diversity of my catches during my next few outings here in Thailand, but so far I'm pretty happy.

Thanks, but that's not really for me. I'm not really interested in manmade stocked ponds. I'd rather catch my fish out in the wild.

Body shape makes more sense, and at least in southern Florida they're super common.

Looking forward to viewing. I fished in Thailand myself last year and also did a bit of squid fishing.🎣👍

Nice. Do you have a lifelist listed somewhere? I'd love to check it out.

@@TheFishingNomad No I don't have a list . I have caught a lot of the freshwater species in the UK . But only sea fish when on holiday .🎣👍

You need to get a fishing license or anything like that for over there?
    Never fished saltwater.

I’m also curious of this. I’ve fished in Singapore where you don’t need a license for salt water but you do for fresh. Thailand seems less regulated though.

In Thailand, not that I'm aware of. It always varies by country. I'm going to Belize next weekend and just bought mine for over there.

Thanks. I've been meaning to head over that way, but whenever I get some time off I always end up leaving the country lol
