Sure in comparison to the RX 6600 it's not a great deal - however it did what it was supposed to do. @@shehrozkhan9563 not bad now, but it was a bit rough out of the box. I have the triple fan card, for reference. Out of the box, it had a death rattle under load. Turned out it was the shroud vibrating. I tightened some screws up and got that sound to go 90% away, so it's basically not detectable now. The fan was also really loud, as the default curve is overly aggressive imo. I undervolted my card to 1.025V, and set a pretty quiet fan curve. I could definitely turn up the fans a bit and drop the temps to around 70C without it being too loud, but I'm fine with anything under 80C personally, so this works well for me.
The 970 was truly a legendary card despite the VRAM marketing issue. My good ol' 970 died 2 weeks ago after serving me for around 6 years. I had to replace it and considering the fact that I'm planning to buy a new PC I bought a new 3070 for relatively cheap price. Still loved how this card managed to be relevant despite all years passed since it's release. Keep up with the good content 👍
We all know the 1080ti would be an S tier on that list aswell. A card Nvidia even regretted selling to the masses as it was too good. Know some people that still uses it for 1440p and 4k gaming today. wow.
I'm one of the fools who treated the P400 nicely on the poll, but it was because i mistook it for the Quadro T400. I wonder if others also made the same mistake.
I liked my 290X (DirectCuII), it was pretty mindblowing coming from a HD4770. Unfortunately it's also the only GPU to fail on me in over 20 years of PC gaming. Weirdly it was mostly fine under load, but grew more and more unstable at idle. A small voltage bump helped for a long time, until it started crashing before Afterburner could apply the settings. I replaced it with a 1080Ti, which showed no issue even after running at ~2GHz for about 5 years.
When I sold my 6950 I have just bought a 4K monitor and wanted a brand new GTX 1080 for 4K gaming, but it was fresh and very expensive, so I bought a temporary card that at the time of purchase I regarded as a mere HDMI display adapter. It was R9 280X 3GB. And oh boy, that was the fastest display adapter I've had! Held on to it for longer than I anticipated, and eventually bought a 1080 Ti in 2017.
The 980 Ti being discontinued soon is making me feel old. In my mind, it's still relatively new. With that said, it's clear that we, as a people, are worse at GPU ranking than Iceburg.
Missed the poll somehow but as ever your video didn't disappoint , thank you for all the great content , looking forward to much more . Would like to wish you all the best this festive season for the channel and on a personnal level ! 👍👍
Who the fuck voted 960 and 6500xt into b-tier???? Along with 7970 which with the 1080 ti would be the two easiest S-tier imaginable. And 5500xt which is literally better than 6500xt in pretty much every metric, both B-tier, how? :D Vega 11 is what, revolutionizing the consumer iGPU, easy A-tier on any vega iGPU for this reason. No wonder the prices are what they and marketing works so easily in this sector.
The hardest part of GFX card upgrades right now, is being a GRX1060 6G owner, and not knowing what to run instead for 144fps+ at 1080p... Budget is, obviously, as low as possible. ;)
I love how I have been the reason he has to specifiy that the 900 series desktop gpu's are the oldest gpu's with full vulkan and dx 12 support. LONG LIVE THE GTX 745. pls do a video on it
Agree with 290X there. Even though I have a RX 6700 XT on my main gaming setup, I still have a 290X on my second one and it's surprisingly good even today.
As a hobby pc enthusiast I've managed to collect an obscene amount of pc hardware, at least for the average user. Currently I have 12 known working gpi's with my lowest gpu the GT 610 1GB DDR3 and my besst gou the XFX Radeon RX 6800 16GB. Oddly enough my Sapphire X1900XTX 512MB GDDR3 outperforms the lower bit rate GT 610 in every single game because of the bit rate allotted to the X1900XTX. The GT 610 is an ideal test gou for any pcie motherboard because it has dsub, dvi and hdmi connection's allowing the ability to test all hardware for a pc as well as old cables. It's been a great test card for all of my used pc part purchases. Anyway, I genuinely have a soft spot for the GTX 970 as one of the most widely compatible graphics cards in the history of pc gaming. From windows xp to windows 10 the gtx, on the right settings, can play everything produced before 2022
I need community help!!! I have a TUF B365M-plus with the i5-9400F @2.90Mz w/16Gb DDR-4 2666Mhz RAM and a NVDIA GeForce GTX 1660. I REALLY want to play KSP2, but I don't have $3K for a high-end system! Thanks
I run a 290x up until 2020 when I bought an RX580. The extra 4 gigs of ram helped but it was a worthless "upgrade" for the most part. I recently bought an RX 6700 non XT for $275. It is actually a very good card for 2023 under $300. Try one out if you get the chance. It is "supposedly" the GPU used on the PS-5.
i have a 3050 Max Q *( 4GB 40WTDP 64GB of 3200mhz GSkillz RipJaw with that amount of ram behind it i get about 95% the performance of a desktop 3050 )* in my MSI GF63 Thin UC-11
Somehow missed this when it dropped 6 months ago. That’s why subscribing is better than not. Have you ever considered testing the Radeon WX5100? It’s a strange one - most of the available used versions are pulled from Dell workstations. It has 8GB of VRAM and is clocked painfully slow to save power. Apparently you can edit the BIOS to make it pull maximum power from the PCIe slot (you can’t overclock it) and thereby squeeze more performance out, but I’ve never been able to get it to work.
I want to defend r9 2xx series in some way. Their power consumption hevyly depends on clock speed and voltage we force them to run. I run my 290x 8gb @900/1250mhz 1,050v. Whole pc i7 2600k 4,4ghz ; 3x hdd; 2x ssd, 6x 120fans take 300w @ peak from the wall.
Love your content, I to have a problem with loving GCN cards, you should do a video on the 12gb Tesla m40 and the Radeon instinct mi25, I'm currently using a 12gb m40 with a decent overclock, thinking about getting a Radeon instinct mi25 but haven't seen any videos on RUclips of the performance, I just don't wanna waste $80.00 if it's not better then the tesla m40 😅
6500XT being B grade? People must have very low standards if a card that is literally worse in every way than its predecessor isn’t F tier. The performance is crap with pcie3. It only has 2 display ports. It lacks encoders and VRAM and was way too expensive. It would have been B maybe in 2016.
My 980Ti died last month. :-( Becouse of my stupidness to clean and mod a card under fiber illness. So now, i have a Black Beautiy in my old PC. She is called Arc A770LE 16Gb. She is a true follower for the good old card. I used every card of the 9xx Series for mining and gaming. Also today i use the blue one for it. She have to work minimum 5 years. I think i get the point again. This card is a beast. Way underrated. And the third new player was loughed out loud and hated. I think with a lot of remembering of hating us miners for not our foults high prices, the people should remember what they think about things, the have no idea in the most cases. People should learn or they should be quiet about price and mininers.
Of you want to have a cheap HD7990 just buy a used ATI Firepro S10000 which is the same card, but way cheaper, if you want to, you can flash the Bios or simply install 7990 Drivers on it.
I have this card too, it's great for the price! But it can draw up to 130 watts through the slot and the cables. I have it for my personal gaming rig just because it uses so little power for so much performance
Democracy pretty much decided that everyone is a winner, so I've decided to reconsider my stance on despotism. On a more serious note though, Nimez drivers, good as they are, aren't manufacturer's signed, auto-updateable drivers, Maxwell drivers seem serously nerfed, older cards can't run plenty of games at all, old powerhouses need way too much electricity, cooling and a PSU that costs more than them, some cards have almost definitely mined for far too long now and are a huge risk, some cards cost too much. All the above reasons mark down quite a few models in my book.
How in the hellllllllll did the 6500XT stay out of F tier? Were people really that willing to fool themselves into liking it simply because it wasn't $300? It was a piece of trash, hard stop.
Stopped watching when the 970 wasn't in the lowest tier. This tier list is just plain wrong. The 970 is a serious contender for worst mainstream GPU in history.
for the R9 series, Don't get the X series example like r9 200x series, these cards have memory artifact issues due it's forced overclock from the manufactures itself.
Anyone actually care about ray tracing yet doe ? I just run everything medium at 1440p and don't care that much can't notice details much while playing at the end of the day
This video doesn't make sense in the US, most all those cards mentioned on the used market are under $100, some of the slower ones most people have thrown in the trash.
I wanted the RTX 2060, but then decided on a GTX 1660 Super for 2/3 the price... that I don't have DLSS 2 is a pity, but FSR 2.0 is also already good enough. I would even go so far as to say the GTX 1660 Super is the new sub 200 bucks low/mid-range graphics card for the people.
An Rx 6600 can be had for 200€ in Germany so I'd assume that it's probably below 200$ in the US already which I'd therefore rather chose as the sub 200 card for the people
I hope to see a review the lowest end Kepler card in the OEM market one day. The card is the (Halfling) GK107 variant of the GT 630 AKA The OEM GT 630 1GB or the HP GT 630 2GB both comes with 192(Halfling GK107, 384/2) Cuda Cores. It be interesting to see if a bios swap to the GT 640 GK107 or the Quadro K2000's bios can allow for the entire silicon to be unlocked.
Consider this for a moment : AMD went from making an AiO cooled VRAM limited nuclear toaster of a card in the Fury X, to making the RX 7900XTX, which uses chiplets to lower (manufacturing lol) costs and has a vapor chamber air-cooled fin array that doesn’t even use heat pipes…
bro, can I use i7-7700 with rtx 2060 ? actually I am researching about this for last 10 days but didn't gent any answer I have a pc which has i7-7700 and I am getting a second hand 2060 from a miner for $200 which is having 2years of warranty left but i am worried about bottleneck
Short answer- yes, it will work, and your 7700 should be enough to get good frames out of it in most games. Long answer- the 7700 can push normal rasterised (non-ray traced) rendering at 60 FPS or higher in AAA games, and can get 120-240FPS in all of the competitive shooters and eSports I've tried with it. The RTX 2060 is more than capable of supplying those frames, at 1080P high and in some cases even at 1440P. However, I don't think you should think of this combo for RT. The games I tested - Spider-Man & Cyberpunk - both put a lot of load more load on the CPU when RT is enabled, and the i7-7700 will often struggle to hit 60 FPS in those cases, even with a more powerful GPU.

PMSL . This is the best tier list ever 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Good year TubeBro!
i Can't believe this good content exist!
Been following since around less than 100 subs. Great Video as always.
Would love to see and if the budget allows some more Rdna 1 Gpus
The 5700 XT is high on my priority list for 2023 😊
The 980 Ti being discontinued soon is making me feel old. In my mind, it's still relatively new. With that said, it's clear that we, as a people, are worse at GPU ranking than Iceburg.
Audience are ignorant! ;-)
Still using a GTX 1070 and 1080. Great GPUs for 1080p.
Vega 11 is what, revolutionizing the consumer iGPU, easy A-tier on any vega iGPU for this reason.
No wonder the prices are what they and marketing works so easily in this sector.
The 970 has 3.5gb of good memory and 500mb of crappy memory.
LONG LIVE THE GTX 745. pls do a video on it
I got to this channel at something like 2k subs, I am happy to see it grow. It shows that the hard work is paying off. 😃
no rx 580?
I like the way you make your videos, the confidence in your commentary certainly sounds like someone that should have way more than 15k subs
Agree with 290X there. Even though I have a RX 6700 XT on my main gaming setup, I still have a 290X on my second one and it's surprisingly good even today.
I had a 7990 fairly recently... I was NOT impressed... I'd give it to you for free if I still had it
You are always pretty informative, it helps me fiddling with some decision of building my first PC lately, thanks Iceberg. Happy Holidays!
2060 vs 2060 super. I am not sure if I can own something that's "super", it's the kind of word old people use.🎄🎁
❤️the GTX 1070
You're right, it's been a hell of a year for the channel
I'm going to upgrade to 32gb ram, but I can't find a DEFINITIVE answer on what the best GPU my motherboard will accept!?!
Please help me!
I feel like most of these were just people picking the middle answer because they didn't watch the video
6500 XT is a D for me. wtf 1070 shoulda been S also.
Of you want to have a cheap HD7990 just buy a used ATI Firepro S10000 which is the same card, but way cheaper, if you want to, you can flash the Bios or simply install 7990 Drivers on it.
Please include GeForce GT 210 1GB DDR 3 in 2023 videos by making GT 210 1GB DDR3 Vs. HD 630 (of i3 7100) Pleaseeeeee....
Underrated Channel, keep up the high quality vids 👍
Have a happy holidays AND please keep up with the great content in 2023.
(I'll forego quoting any sayings about "the average voter".)
Very sad that the RX6600 is missing as it was the best Card of 2022 no 🧢.
Only 100W Power Draw even on Oc Cards and deliviring maximum Performance
I have this card too, it's great for the price! But it can draw up to 130 watts through the slot and the cables. I have it for my personal gaming rig just because it uses so little power for so much performance
The card is still a bit overpriced i rather look for a used rx 5700 or 5700xt.
In Germany i actually did recommend the RX 6500xt because of was even cheaper than buying a GTX 1050 plus it was brand new
The gtx 1070 actually isnt missing RT for a lot of games. Drivers were updated a long time ago for the gtx 1070 and 1080 cards to allow ray tracing.
the ryzen apus should be s-tier, they literally saved thousands of gamers by not spending $800+ on a 3060 back when the mining boom started
I wan 7970 in 2023 vid tho
Also proud to be one of the people that got the 290X into S tier. I love these older AMD cards.
Anyone actually care about ray tracing yet doe ? I just run everything medium at 1440p and don't care that much can't notice details much while playing at the end of the day
can you test the 6700 10gb? its reaching $320, close to 6650XT price
The reason the 2060 max q ranked so high is because it sold well. I'd bet a lot of the votes are salty people who own it :)
I think I have deep state depression my gpu is literally on this list :(
Thats why democracy is shit i mean 6500xt and 7970 in the same tier? 6500xt is a f+ for me
considering i have a gt610 gt710 is absolutely better in my eyes XD
This video doesn't make sense in the US, most all those cards mentioned on the used market are under $100, some of the slower ones most people have thrown in the trash.
One day you will get famous and I don't want you to change. You have helped me with pcs a lot so I want you to know that you are good ytuber
where is 1080TI? Absolute legend...
Nice video man! Where you put rx6600?
In my country 1070 is the way to go with used cards and I will buy it for sure.
My only beef is with the GTX 970. Should have been S tier
I would rather have an expert knowledge and opinion tier list then avg users list as avg people love avg stuff
An Rx 6600 can be had for 200€ in Germany so I'd assume that it's probably below 200$ in the US already which I'd therefore rather chose as the sub 200 card for the people
I feel like a snob. I had a 1070ti that got long in the fang so I bought an rx 6800 non xt...
Please make the best & worst igpus you tested
The real mvp S tier soldier would be the GTX1050 ti
Consider this for a moment : AMD went from making an AiO cooled VRAM limited nuclear toaster of a card in the Fury X, to making the RX 7900XTX, which uses chiplets to lower (manufacturing lol) costs and has a vapor chamber air-cooled fin array that doesn’t even use heat pipes…
Fury X is awesome, sure they get warm but they are absolutely silent even at full power.
Reviewing budget tech is most appreciated m8
It’s nearly 2024 I’m scared
bro, can I use i7-7700 with rtx 2060 ? actually I am researching about this for last 10 days but didn't gent any answer I have a pc which has i7-7700 and I am getting a second hand 2060 from a miner for $200 which is having 2years of warranty left but i am worried about bottleneck
