  • This is a candid real world review of the Quadratec Tube Doors for the Jeep Wrangler JL and JLU as well as Jeep Gladiator JT. Updates below.
    UPDATE: 6/6/23
    After a month of “waiting to hear back from the parts department” their solution is to send the doors back and just issue me a refund instead of get me doors that fit.
    UPDATE: 6/14/23
    Quadratec has restricted my account on Facebook to prevent me from sharing this link or discussing the quality control issues with these doors with other users. They also will not post my review and photos on their website which leads me to believe they heavily monitor and skew their product reviews over competitors.

    Excellent real world review. Thanks for sharing. I actually had these doors in my cart to purchase. Very glad for your video cause I deleted them from my cart.

      Ended up not getting a resolution from Quadratec. Instead, they gave me shipping labels to send them back. They wouldn’t address any of the quality issues nor will they approve my negative review and photo evidence on the product listing on their website. So shady. Check out Rugged Ridge’s doors. About the same price and shape, look sturdier.

    Thanks for your video! I had picked these doors to buy based on style, but not now!

      Glad I could help! I was very disappointed in them. It looks like they still have not made any changes to their design. They also won’t publish my review on their site. Quadratec monitors and censors reviews on their own branded products so they always look favorable over other brands they carry and resell. such deceptive marketing.

    Thanks for this video. Like you, these caught my eye due to them being contoured to fit the door jambs. I didn’t realize the sides were just skins, they seem like they were boxed in. It’s a shame really, this could have been a great product, arguably the best tube door option for the JT, just poor execution. Guess I’ll just go for the mopar doors, seems those are stout pieces. Not the look I necessarily wanted, and pricy, but seem nice.

      I finally sent them back. Quadratec was still telling me the part department wanted to look at them and they offered to send me more or reimburse me and I just took the money. Waste of time.

    Worth noting that as of 6/14/23 Quadratec has restricted me on their Facebook account to stop me from sharing the link to this video and sharing my experience with other possible customers about the quality control issues. Such shady business.

      About the back doors. I was wondering if you tried adjusting the strikers to make the door close tighter to the vehicle?

    • @mynamesedwin
      @mynamesedwin  Год назад

      @@garretthines5188 I tried to adjust the lock mechanism on the doors within their slide range but the strike plates on the Jeep’s frame/door frame do not move or adjust. I think the issue is the weld job on doors. It looks like the spaces bored for the mechanism to slide just aren’t drilled enough; the mechanism can’t slide back far enough on any of the doors. Also worth noting that the welds around the hinges on the junk set they told me to just keep are rusting already and cracked. Really really poor quality all around.

    I'm about to buy these door for my 2017 JKU but I didn't know they were so flimsy. I think you can loosen the door striker to fix the issue with the back edge not being flush.

    • @mynamesedwin
      @mynamesedwin  Год назад

      My door striker inside the door frame doesn’t move. I can loosen and tight them but the holes are the holes, can’t move the plate in or out. The three torque screws holding the two-stage rotary latch are basically not far enough into the door so the mechanism protrudes too far and makes the door stick out. I hope your JKU model fits better than these. Good luck!

      @@mynamesedwin hey, your video convinced me to order the rough country doors instead, thanks for the honest opinion on these doors.

      @@rcguyusvi9206 yes! That is the brand I was trying to think of while I was filming but it wasn’t coming to me. They fit the frame shape the same as the Quadratec ones but look more sound. Let me know how it goes!
