For those bickering about politics, I'll leave you with something Maynard said between songs during this years Tool concert in Clarkston, Michigan:
"Anyone here from CMU?" (small crowd yells out)
"Wolverines, where you at?" (1/2 yells out)
"Spartans?"(other half 1/2 yells out)
"Wolverines what do you think of those Spartans?" (Crowd boos)
"Spartans, what do you think of those Wolverines?" (Crowd boos again)
"I'm going to point something out that I think we sometimes forget. There's a word missing from all those things I just said. The word is "Michigan" (Whole crowd cheers).
"See now you're all cheering together. Now take that idea and apply it to this thing called "Earth". Ignorance is the enemy, be part of the solution. Otherwise this song is for you."
Band leads into Opiate.
Love maynard
Holy shit what an effective exercise.
Beautiful
Globalism is cancer.
wow..... he nailed it.
That precious cocktail of feelings you feel when listening to something new from Maynard for the first time! Like the song very much.
That precious cocktail of feel when you realise Maynard is just one facet of this band, and the rest of the members deserve praise too.
The man has literally mentioned that sometimes he only starts working on vocal melodies once the rest of the track is complete
Jayansh!! Hi!! How nice to find you here, my friend :D
cassidymav Howdy :D
When what you REALLY should listen for is the devine mix and orchestration by Billy and realise that the singer is just... the singer.
"In light of this current difficult and polarized social, spiritual and political climate, we artist types need to open our big mouths and share the light a little louder." - Maynard James Keenan
I am the most common and most hated form of fan
dood poop Heh, APC addressed that with So Long and Thanks for All the Fish.
dood poop oh puleez...not the conspiracy theory crap. 🐒
A beautiful quote I was not aware of. Thank you.
My best friend went to her last concert last year before she passed from a rare disease. Maynard you made her heart so happy that day .
She would of loved this song so much.
Michele Gonzalez
Thank you
💜 sorry. I have a rare disease too. It's hard for everyone not just me. This song hits home. All the best sincerely to you
greeenpro God bless you always
Michele Gonzalez you as well!

The irony of feeling hopeful about upcoming music while listening to an amazing song titled "The Doomed".
yo rocked
this is a song about tool fans and how we will all be dead before the new album
The last line sums it up . Fuck the new, you're on your own.
I agree.. I do love the song.. the lyrics get me.. I think it's talking about the time we are in right now.. doomed.. this pres thing going on, world issues.. I think Maynard is trying to convey.. I do appreciate your comment of irony :)
If you feel hopeful after listening to this, you have no idea what it's about.
"When the power of love is more powerful than the love of power thats when things will change" Jimi Hendrix
beautiful 💗
@@Alexcision I just don’t wanna know what I
It IS more powerful. Love conquers ALL. When nothing else is left, there will be love
@@MasynMcClanahanvb you are a spirit living in a body of flesh. When you die, you'll live in a spiritual body for the rest of Eternity. Jus sayin
No shit, dude
Seriously
I'm...so....ridiculously happy right now
Once again Perfect Circle shows how music can come from the heart and touch the soul of the world.
4.32 to the end just gave me the most intense goose bumps, nothing else comes anywhere close to Maynard's screams
Jesse Ducks XD it wasn't acapella
The scream was better in Rosetta Stoned. 9:40 (without intro)
True, not to mention the grudge...
what does the "new U.S." have to do with it?
Maynard’s range is limitless . He can sing in so many different styles. Awesome
Such an Awesome song! I love it! The lyrics are moving to the way the world is today and the music Billy has wrote is very cool!
I love everything about them. Musicians like this, put their entire soul in their creations. People always focus on Maynard, but they all are extremely talented.
Behold a new Christ
Behold the same old horde
Gather at the altering
New beginning, new word
And the word was death
And the word was without light
The new beatitude:
"Good luck, you're on your own"
Blessed are the fornicates
May we bend down to be their whores
Blessed are the rich
May we labour, deliver them more
Blessed are the envious
Bless the slothful, the wrathful, the vain
Blessed are the gluttonous
May they feast us to famine and war
What of the pious, the pure of heart, the peaceful?
What of the meek, the mourning, and the merciful?
All doomed
All doomed
Behold a new Christ
Behold the same old horde
Gather at the altering
New beginning, new word
And the word was death
And the word was without light
The new beatitude:
"Good luck..."
What of the pious, the pure of heart, the peaceful?
What of the meek, the mourning, and the merciful?
What of the righteous?
What of the charitable?
What of the truthful, the dutiful, the decent?
Doomed are the poor
Doomed are the peaceful
Doomed are the meek
Doomed are the merciful
For the word is now death
And the word is now without light
The new beatitude:
"Fuck the doomed, you're on your own"
ToxicNomad Thank you.
Very eloquent
ToxicNomad thank you. Beyond love this song.
ToxicNomad i think it's 'newbie attitude' as in noob new person
DarkMidnyt88 the Beatitudes are what Christ taught during the Sermon on the Mount in the New Testament. The new Beatitudes, the opposite of what Christ taught, are what the world preaches, because the world and the people who love and embrace the world belong to Satan.
This is going to be in a soundtrack soon
Ryan Davidson definitely sounds like a soundtrack song. Like passive.
Definitely. Has that soundtrack/movie sound.
New Resident Evil maybe? That was quite the match!
...for a reality show pilot called WW3
Absolutely. It’s gonna take more then a few times listening to it. Maybe it’s just me. But it’s got a Frankenstein feel to it. They had all these great bits of music, then linked them together.
I fucking love this song. Its a privilege to live in a time where maynard is making new music. Fuck all the people who don't appreciate it.
rustyshackleferd22, damn straight as long as all the guys from APC and their respective bands make music I'll listen
These are the good years
that's because of his white privilege to make it?
this music is garbage. youre not a music fan if u dont love twenty one piolots
Anna Matheny Leave immediately 21 pilots is formulaic garbage who's only saving grace are their lyrics and even those are meh.
That drummer give me some chills on this one
Yep. Being a good drummer isn't about playing bombastically, but the fills, the rim shot or that extra tap on the high hat that does it. (and a little cow bell never hurts)
I still miss Josh
Ja B yeah, plenty of great music with incredible drums out there like on Kid Charlemagne by Steely Dan
For being not Danny Carrey, good.
His name is DANNY CAREY!!!
A Perfect Circle is one of the greatest bands I’ve ever heard just a great beat and rhythm to the music
Nah I’m fine I know lots of bands
Godly. A Perfect Circle for the win.
john vidal it's actually not Godly at all. The lyrics are Anti-Christ
@Clean Logic Fantasy Baseball
I was just gonna say it is not godly at all. I wish I had never heard any of this man's ungodly trash. I refuse to listen to this one.
Gordon Goodman -
How is it ungodly? The lyrics are about how we worship the excesses of the Kardashian's, the Kanye's and do so blindly. The righteous are doomed because we follow like sheep.
Idiots. Get over yourselves
@Gordon Goodman What about it is ungodly, pray tell?
Blessed are the rich. May our labor deliver them more.
truly remarkable how maynard continues to pump out these lyrics over the last 30 years. would think one would run out of material. especially considering that most tool songs are right around 10 minutes. such an amazing writer
Of those 10-minute pieces he's only singing for about 40% of the time.
I'm not crying, you're crying!
se7enBC1 It's chill, I'm crying with you. On repeat.
This song is so relevant today, and it'll probably be relevant in the future as well.
That scream at the end got me moister than an oyster.
This song is quite a bit more applicable than some would like to admit. 💜💜💜
It's been a long time
even since "By and Down" it has been quite some years already
Screaming FEEEEEEED MEEEEEE
So glad to see you well.
I Fuckin know, right?
Just fucking...WOW...gives me goosebumps...over and over.
A perfect circle has been my favorite band sense the first time i heard them. This song kicks ass . Love this band
This song is absolutely the definition of this world.
If you are a decent human being the brutal truth of these words should infuriate you.
13 years later, and we get...a new track.
TheGreatMattao by and down
From the Wikipedia page for A Perfect Circle:
Fourth studio album (2017-present)
The band became active again in 2017, with the announcement that the band would reform to embark a North American tour in April and May 2017, with the intention of playing new material and inspiring the band to finalize and release new material, similar to how their initial 1999 touring had inspired them to finish Mer de Noms. In March, the band announced they had signed a new record contract - their first in thirteen years - to release a fourth full-length studio album through BMG Rights Management. Howerdel states that the band aims to release the fourth studio album sometime between November 2017 to early 2018, while Keenan believes the album won't be out in 2017. New songs have been played at the 2017 shows, including the tracks "Feathers" and "Hourglass". Another North American Tour is scheduled to take place in October through December 2017. In October 2017, Keenan stated he was rehearsing new material to be played at the shows, and suggested the new album would be released in 2018.
On October 13, 2017, the band's social media accounts posted a fifteen second teaser video for "The Doomed", without defining if it was for a single or album. On October 17, a track named "The Doomed" was released as a single.
Be patient
alex bairaktaris I'm mostly messing around. Any APC is good APC. I'm just highlighting the fact that the last time we had a full album of new material from this band, I was a year away from drinking legally. It has been quite some time.
13 years well spent
You came back at the perfect time! Thank you so much! 😭💖
The whole album is magic
And here we are
What
a perfect day
a perfec circle
a perfect song
a perfect band.
This is a strong song to set up the rest of the album. Gives a creepy and intimidating vibe that I love with the return.
New Puscifer comes out: "Sounds like APC."
New APC comes out: "Sounds like Puscifer."
New Tool comes out:
(no it doesn't)
rransomm coming out this year
And the best comment of this century goes to...
rransomm i know right. Ive been sitting on the edge of my seat waiting.. and waiting.. they need to release the new album already. An i cant wait to see them play at ROCK ON THE RANGE IN MAY. WHICHS MY BDAY WEEKEND
Amanduhh Faye I believe them about it coming out this year, I really do, and as excited as I am, I will miss looking forward to anything as much. I know that I'll love the album as much as I have loved anticipating it.
Yeah I'm personally hoping to see them as a graduation present!
This album is saving me during this quarantine!!
Just wait till you see them live!! 💯🙏🏼 ... eventually ;)
I love it! Worth the wait! Can’t wait until the album is released!
Lina Hartwig what the release date
4:31 Maynard still screaming like a boss.
Kyle K.
It's true, but he can't do that live..unfortunately
He's just saving himself. I remember he talked about it in a interview, he never gives 100% onstage. He's a 50something old man now and its really impressive what he is still capable of vocally. And I don't doubt that a new Tool record will have some sweet screams too :)
lol saw them 3 months ago and he held a scream during "The outsider" for 17 seconds. It was incredible. The guy has definitely still got it
Another masterpiece from the legendary James Iha
james iha's in apc? holy crap
Michael Thornton No - the guitarist. Darcy was the bass player for smashing pumpkins.
Jeremiah Fernandez How could anyone not know the legendary James Iha is in APC
I know right? fucking awesome
Oh, my god. This is amazing.
The song of our time.
YYYYEAAAAAAAHHH FRICKING FINALLY THE CIRCLE CAME AROUND
Awesome song, Maynard won't ever lose it.
It's not "newbie attitudes".. It's "new beattitudes" which is a biblical term
Dave Mikkelsen Exactly.... Beatitudes are eight blessings recounted by Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount in the Gospel of Matthew.
Dave Mikkelsen I'm not religious at all, but I had to look it up the day this song was released, because I didn't know what beatitude meant either.
Dave Mikkelsen DUH...
Nato Genocide i can't decide if this is sarcastic or not and honestly I'm too afraid to ask :'D
Nato Genocide let me just clarify here. millenials are doomed because their parents (baby boomers/gen x) are damned ? and this is because people don’t know what a beatitude is
Cant wait for the new album
Once you hear "newbie attitude", you can't unhear it.
Can we all just talk about how wonderful this band is?
Guess not
@@nathanielgrey4091 lol my man I see you out there *finger guns
@@nathanielgrey4091 ;(
Yes, forever and ever and ever and ever. I am so lame I have Mer de Noms tattooed on my bum
My Goodness!
2:29 when Matt comes in with that bass.. both here and for the live performances,
Fucking beautiful!
Never heard A Perfect Circle before today and all i gotta say is this song is amazing
HOLY SHIT YES
I love it when the bass picks back up at 2:30
I'm so glad they are keeping close to their roots unlike some bands who tend to fall the wayside...they are inventive without trying to make their sound "better" when they sound great every time. "Don't try to fix what's not broken..." This is another song example of why I'm still a huge fan and why I'll be seeing them again in Nov.
Welcome back, u mean everything to us!!
Yes!!! Can't wait for a new album, get to see them in November, gonna kick ass
HDM Reviews Nov 12??
Nov 2 is gonna be epic
Yay Connecticut...really dislike this state but every once in awhile..something good happens here.
HDM Reviews have fun its going to be the shit bin there dun that
Hell yeah I see them the 7th. I saw them in April in Vegas when they first played Feathers.
It's highly probable (practically set in stone) that I'll forever be in love with Maynard's voice!
You know it can’t be an easy task to release new music, officially, since 2004, and create a sound that effectively portrays a natural evolution- that is, what APC SHOULD sound like now... despite over 10 years of silence. I think this song is a perfect expression of APC’s sound...it’s dark, moody, provocative, and unsettling in a beautiful way-all the elements that APC is known for...I always saw this band as a more personal channel with MJK...a way for the listener to get more acquainted with MJK than Tool..because APC expresses the heart of MJK’s spiritual/political/philosophical views-his identity, essentially...and there couldn’t be a more appropriate time period, to bring back APC’s music and poetry.Thank God APC is officially back!
Adam Fowler dude, very insightful. ive always felt the same about apc
your god had nothing to do with it silly sausage
Absolutely my friend, finally some words of wisdom! Keep up the good work, your one of smart guys.
I wouldn’t go as far as calling him my god, but yes I have great admiration for certain artists. I was speaking of Maynard’s vocal/lyrical output within APC, which he undoubtedly has everything to do with. All the members of the band deserve praise without doubt, truthfully I wish Troy Van Leeuwen was still with them..he and billy were intoxicating on Mer De Noms.
fair play mate just having a giggle in truth i respect your beliefs and i completely agree about apc's sonic evolution. maynard sounds so much more matured as an artist now compared to old tool days or even previous apc records. would be nice to get a new album before christmas too!
OH GOD YES
The first time I've heard anything new come out while Ive been a fan.
Oh, damn. This just made my day, my week and my month I think. Greetings from Costa Rica to all of you, pura vida.
Just got back from their concert. I cried, Maynard❤ that beautiful human being. The doomed sounded amazing! APC, EPTX loves you! You guys did excellent!! We wanted Moarr 😄❤
Listening to this in class
Class just got 150x better
Almost got whiplash from how fast I did a double take when I saw this in my subscriptions just now
And then fucked it up further tripping over everything looking for headphones.
Love the new song, love the lyrics, love A Perfect Circle for standing up and telling it like it is!!! Maynard/Tool/A Perfect Circle 4 life!!!
people who are bashing on this song need to pretend they haven't heard APC before or puscifer stop comparing why deprive yourself the beauty because of comparisons......it rocks, got plenty of emotion and feeling.
onedaywalkalone right? If they're comparing it's because they aren't dedicated Maynard fans. Because he's said specifically why he started Puscifer; to make the more obscure stuff he wanted to do. APC is a happy medium between Puscifer & Tool. Three different bands, three totally different visions. They just happen to have the same singer.
Patrick Wallis That hurts my fee fees
Andrew Brietbart oh no
Patrick Wallis Yeah. Your words hurt my BOneS.
onedaywalkalone no shit. They listen to tool, apc, and pusifer. Comparing the bands like they don't listen to the three for maynard... lol
Chills. It’s a good one.
Thanks APC for another amazing song! Your real fans appreciate it and know that you don't owe us anything, so any new song we get is an awesome gift to the world! so glad I live in the time of such awesome music, even if most other parts of society suck....
The lyrics certainly fit the times.
Before my dad died, I tried to remember what song this was so he could listen to it. Just another thing left undone.
2:02 love that switch.
I, prefer, 3:40, switch...
This is absolutely weakness you see this and you think is it a dream a new song omg 😮 thanks I love it 🤘🏻🖤
Coco Schanel hi babe
Justin Linches well Hai 🦈 👋🏻
THIS IS AWESOME
I love his vocals on the "what of the_" parts
Can't stop listening to this. That drum sound it awesome.
Loving this! Been such a long time!
Glad that apc's back :)
I’m psyched this only came a few minutes ago and I already love it
Ale Zapata yeah well I think I love YOU
I just came right now
Ed Huzyak I was gonna say that
This is one of the best songs I've heard recently period. The new release is amazing too. I can't wait for this album!
Fuck this is a good song!
It's awesome!
I CANT WAIT TO HEAR THIS LIVE
I really like it, dark lyrics, dark mood, aggressive Maynard and really cool "machine gun" bass parts. Third time listening to it was a charm.
Putting aside preconceived ideas and really listening to this album with open ears makes it more enjoyable with each listen. Amazing album
Yes!!!, thank you my beautiful circle for bringing it back, oh how I've missed your voice. Tool that goes for you too but if not APC I'll stick with you till I'm 6 feet under playing the noose to my ending 😘
Danielle One.Love. I like your style, "The Noose" to my grave as well..
Marshall Matters it is such a fitting song for my life it only makes sense. not too forget the beauty in it too
Don't forget Puscifer.
It feels like I've been waiting 10,000 Days for Tool's new album when it's "only" been like 4500 or so. Maynard is a ridiculous talent.
why only 6 feet?
When not sure if you're hearing Dethklok or a Christmas Song with incredible fucking lyrics, you're listening to APC.
Been a disciple of mjk since 93. I enjoy most puscifer, but we need the darkness and healing and introspection of apc in society now more than ever.
@Patrick Williams
Maybe it is about time for a new god? Give the real God a try.
Gordon Goodman -
I'll be right on that.
Why do you take this so serious? Art is an outlet that can be therapeutic.
the sickest drum work ive heard in some time, what a hook, cant wait to see it live
How could you not love a perfect circle??!! Sick ❤
Agreed!! And sad for those who dont.
people who prefer vertexes?
People who love spirals?
Downward spirals? ; )
ayyy that's perfect
A new apc song?? I've never clicked a video faster
TDM Destiny lol me TOOO
This album almost seems like Maynard's been reading Nietzsche... Or maybe that's just cause I am. Though it is nice to think so...less lonely.
i love how every album is different. another classic
Something new from APC? Now we wait for tool
Yes I know the album is progress, I await patiently
Jp Ferri I'm going to make an original joke that nobody has every thought of... New tool is gonna come out 10000 days after the previous one! Hahaha
Jp Ferri Still waiting patiently 👌👌👌😆
Tool - the patient
Lynzu Anderson I watched him say it
We've watched him make plenty of false promises. He keeps blaming Danny and them when in reality he just wants to jack off in his wine celler. Then when he feels like shit about how bad he actually is he writes a book about it.
Welcome back old friends. 🎶🤘🏻🔥
The last minute or so, is just so fucking awesome, YES Please, Thank you, and May I Have Another?! 😎
It doesn't matter where the message comes from, it's needed to be said. Thank you.
100X better then anything else out there...just my opinion. His voice is incredible!
Rings a lot truer than the last time i listened to this.
No kidding, it's all unfolding right before our very eyes.....
Amazing! Love it
Thank you for being there for me over the last twenty years of my life. I'll be forever grateful.
Perfecto ! 👏👏
Show of hands who has has this going for hours on loop and are not even Stoned or trippin balls?
Kenneth Williams although I am stoned
Nonstop, all day yesterday, all day today.
This? Maybe, Steven Wilson? Absolutely.
Hand up! (But I AM stoned. And high on opiates and ready to melt!)
Messing with opiates eh. Good luck. I hope you haven't had to go through or end up going through what I have. But they are nice when they're doing their job.
I like how Maynard's voice sounds and how he controls it's fluency along the whole song
I've listened to this all night long over and over again.. gets better every time
