NFL "GO OUT OF BOUNDS!" Moments

- The clips at the start of this video are moments where an NFL player stays in bounds when he shouldn't have. I have a few clips at the end where the player smartly goes out of bounds. Then, the final clip of the video was when Marion Barber went out of bounds, costing the Bears the game against the Broncos in 2011. An interesting thing about this game is that if Marion Barber stayed in bounds here, an extra 40 seconds would have been killed from the clock, and the Broncos would have probably lost. They would have gone 7-9 and wouldn't have made their historic 2011 playoff run.

For the last clip, if Marion Barber stayed in bounds, there was a pretty good chance that the Broncos would have lost that game, went 7-9 instead of 8-8, and missed the playoffs with Tim Tebow. It is one of the more underrated dumb plays that nobody thinks about.

Actually was pretty shit video. Most of these teams still had timeouts left, and it didn't really matter that they didn't make it out of bounds. The clips at the end where they did go out of bounds were better.

Seriously, in the middle of the field if he had gotten back up and started running without being touched, they wouldn't have rules his forward progress stopped. The sideline is literally what ended the play and not contact with others players. I'm not saying you are wrong, it's just another stupid edge case caused by the NFL rules-lawyering themselves instead of common sense.

the brandon marshall was extra. He caught in front of the potential int, grabbed a few extra yards, stutter stepped to make sherman pump brakes, then dives 36 ft out of bounds leaving no chance of anything landing in play...lol, nice!
I will never forget that Broncos / Bears game, all part of that crazy Tebow magic year. Most games it was so ugly but they somehow managed to win enough to get into the playoffs and even win a game! What a fun ride that was.

It's why I was bouncing off the walls over how we beat the Pats this year, at least once, because not only was that call a factor -- I don't see how he doesn't have the right to keep scooting on his damn butt unless someone touches him down -- there was the damn '12 men on the field' free play that happened because Bellicheat faked a substitution and the refs forgot that even a fake sub means the umpire stands over the ball until the other team has time to sub out.

The BUF/NE play was weird, because he actually did get out of bounds but the crew blew it. To address a somewhat common rules misconception, forward progress only applies if touched, even in college.
(Of course, had this been in college, it would have been counted as in bounds because his... behind... hit the ground in bounds.)
You left out the part where Marion Barber fumbled in overtime immediately after running out of bounds in the Broncos Bears game. That game was such a train wreck, Lovie Smith going from absolutely dominating Tim Tebow with the defense to going all out Prevent defense and letting Tebow run all day in the final minutes.

These clips one after the other of the players not going out of bounds is giving me anxiety.
These poor players screwed because they didn't realize you can force them to run the clock back for the time they waste setting the ball. And people got mad at Brady for knowing how to force the clock back up to the correct numbers.
