On DN I once got a call from an actual MTG player. After I explained to him that 101 cannot protect itself from caius because banishing isn't destroying, he responded "This game is too complicated, I'm going back to magic." as though the interaction isn't the exact same in MTG.
Tbf mtg has very little card restrictions because they a resource system. Paying attention to things such as the different types of effects and they're worded, summon conditions, restrictions, and the dmg step will quickly make less experienced players forget basic things due to confusion. That being said, mtg is simpler to understand mechanically but can be just as or more complicated dueing gameplay so he as probably just a bad player
To be fair if you are going to allow people to insult each other, then you need to at least let the other guys insult him back. I can't even tell you how many times in a discord I have been banned simply for having an actual good insult against a person who is emotionally fragile after they attempted to hurt my feelings with an insult. There needs to be no gray areas. If I wanna go full Kramer, I should have the right to.
I still play Brandon in TCG because it’s the only deck I physically have (all my income goes to magic the gathering, sorry not sorry), plus it’s pure Brandon if that makes it any better. The only despair card I use is aluber and I combo with The Light - Hex Sealed Fusion
There is not enough judges on the platform to accommodate all the calls, even more if you stack the appeals. This is not a high stake competition, is a online simulator made by fans. If the volunteer judge think your appeal is unreasonable/petty/salty they can deny so the other calls can have a chance to be answered.
The ability to deny appeals is so that people can't just appeal an obvious decision. Like if you call your opponent the N-word at the table and they call a judge and you get a loss, an appeal would be pointless cause any judge would agree that it's on you. But if it were _possible_ to always appeal obviously correct decisions, people would do it.
mannn the LS interaction is not as simple as just reading the card. lots of players dont know the negation of activations change the fact a card usually marked to get sent to GY has to go there. that's a totally understandable mistake to make :/
Doesn't matter here, the card say "Shuffle that card into the deck". The card text have more power than game mechanics, if a card say to do something, you do.

I really heavily disagree with the DB rules on insulting your opponent, why do you have to tolerate your opponent being annoying/insulting/spewing garbage at you in this game that requires talking to your opponent to be able to play it? It just seems infuriating and it’d make people quit.
also i'm pretty sure calling someone a 'dog' is a racial slur in some countries. you get it a LOT on games like League. i think it has something to do with Turkey but im not too sure.
@@fromtheday9461 I understand your thought and am aware that "dog" can definitely be a racial slur. As someone who comes from Germany myself, I can only say that "dog" is a very common insult here and in the vast majority of cases is not meant in a racist way.
There is an official UFC document on appropriate trash talk for their fighters. The basic gist of it is no personal drama, all of it must remain in the match. During heated tcg/gaming bouts I tend to refer to that to question toxicity. Calling someone bad, dumb, trash, etc is not against the regulations. Insulting their character, family, or threats are considered against regulations. It's more complex of course but I wish to normalize trash talk again.

yeah the same equivalent play in magic would be exiling a target creature and the player in response makes it indestructable.
Ngl if we're talking stuff that messes with mtg players, the big one is usually the targeting rules for pseudo-targeted removal effects.

When the duelist said Kev it was like that one Spongebob scene with Kevin the Sea Cucumber
HI KEVIN
He called me bad, I demanded satisfaction.😂😂😂😂

Magic is minimum 60 cards, no maximum. The decks are just bigger.

Can someone help we understand how appeals can ever work if the judge can deny for any reason? Doesn't that defeat the point?
You can appeal but if a judge deems that your appeal is silly or a waste of time they can deny it so as to not waste another judges time.
