Nice Job guys!!!! Thanks for the shout out!! looks like you took home some good skills from the Paintucation class!! Eveery time you pull the trigger, you'll learn more! keep on painting! That Ranchero is calling you! :)
I'm not a car painter, but do build and spray finishes on custom furniture. Tip, start spraying from the middle of the piece to the outside. you won't drag your hose and clothes through your paint. Jack you continue to amaze me! Great job!
I'm a retired grandfather of 3. I wish that my oldest 13 y.o. grandson had a friend like you. He's a smart boy, an A+ student an athlete but you would be just the kind of young man that i would like him to associate with and learn from. You are an incredible young man!
What a great channel you Kent an Jack have created,Kent you an mom have done a fabulous job raising Jack an AJ. Jack is going to be very successful as he grows up an what a great dad he will be.Keep the videos coming
Nicely done! I suggest those dips are from folks sitting on the hood back in the day haha. We used to road surf the hood and the roof. Haha good times.
It’s so fun and exciting watching how much Jack has grown. Going from growing watermelons and pumpkins to rebuilding cars. Wow is all I can say . Just so glad to get to watch jack grow. God bless you and your family
You are learning so much, and then sharing those skills with everyone who watches, just awesome. I am so proud of you and your parents, this is how kids should grow. Thank you so very much for sharing your time and talents.
Take the grill off and straighten it out. You can make your own dollies out of wood. It’s so encouraging to watch you grow up. Your skills are almost as tall as you are now.
Jack your work on the hood looks amazing from my house! You are a very talented young man and I can’t leave out an amazing big brother 😊have a great day
Wow Jack I'm impressed - you did all the prep work - repair work - and final paint - now all you have to do is the rest of the truck. But at your age you did a fantastic job - wayda go there Dude.
Great job Jack... The old farm truck is looking better each time I see it... Can't wait to see what you can do with the rancho. Keep up the amazing work guys 👍
Nice job Jack, by the time you get to your Ranchero you'll be a pro. I used to paint cars for Honda a long time ago. I was glad to see when you got to the final color stage you started in the middle of the hood and worked your way out, opposite of how you did the undercoats. Good job!
That truck looks great now! It’s going to blend in over time as it gets swirls from washing and stone chips etc. you guys can be proud of that for sure! Thanks for taking us along for the ride!!
Jack, my dad was a body repairman for 40 years and worked on those when they were new. you did a fantastic job, and will be great experience for the Ranchero! Now I've just got to get my '68 that I've owned for 40+ years back on the road...
You are SOOO lucky that you have a wonderful opportunity to learn amazing skills at a huge playground where you can make mistakes, experiment and see the fruits of your work! Your family is incredible!
Damn these these videos makes me feel nostaltic. Hoping i would have used more time with my pops when i was a kid and learned more about everything. remembered when we build a tree house and helped him with log shed for firewood or when he taught me how to weld. Good video!
Great job pal. This is great experience for you. That hood will tell you a lot about the quality of your filler and paint. I once had a Ford F100 1964 and the hood was like your orginal. Never painted it but I wonder if they are even paint able. How would one get a pitted hood smooth? One thing I learned the hard way. To ruin a hood do not oil the hinges!!! Have heard the big boys tell the warped hood story before.🦇
So pleased for you Jack, thats a remarkable job on the F100, you may consider automotive refinishing a rewarding opportunity in the future 😊 Look forward to revisting the Ranchero ❤
I have really enjoyed watching this video. I wish we could have went to the painting classes with you and learned along with you. But your talents keep getting increasingly better and your application is getting better on everything. You do welding everything you do. Dad needs to turn you loose on the rest of that truck. Good learning experience and it won't hurt that old. Ford to be polished into a diamond as well Keep up the good work young man. I'll be watching you from Yuma, Arizona
Mate your an inspiration to us older guys out here I'm super impressed with your work and experience at your age I watched your dad rescue that truck and its really great to see it getting a second life 😊 And it's way cooler that anything new on the roads today Well done the truck looks great
I believe that you are going to have a great Ranchero! I love that you are practicing on the hood. By the way, it looks awesome! Thank your parents. They are doing a wonderful job raising both of you boys!
That hood came out really nice, I have purchased a few different urethane paints for my pickup but still haven’t gotten there. It’s shows like yours that give me inspiration. Thank you and happy belated thanksgiving to you and the whole family.
Not a big Ford guy but that truck deserves restoration!!! Need to get Eastwood to mix you some more paint & go at it. I even like the color. You’ve done a great job. Thanks for the video.
First off I think you are an incredible kid! Love your passion for working on cars and what you have learned. Cudo's to your dad for the great guidance he has given you, OK now for the helpful tips lol You should never put Bondo over primer or paint, only to bare metal. Do all your body work first, then spray it with primer. Bondo only sticks well to metal, and over anything else it will eventually come loose.
That old Ford Truck is really looking good. I grew up in Ford Trucks and one of them was One just like yours. I especially like that color Green. Keep up the great work bringing these old jewels back to life.. MWP Cosby, Tn.
One piece of advice, when you shoot your filler or sealer primer over body filler always do a coat on the body filled spots first, let them flash then do the whole panel. That way the body filler will have absorbed and sealed. Helps everything lay down smoother. This turned out good. The more practice the better you will get
Im 60 years old a veteran and American...it inspires me to watch these videos to know that there are young men still out there looking to use their hands and smarts to make things work. You sir have a bright future ,stay the course...
Great job Jack! I don’t know if it would make any difference but you might be able to buff the original paint again or if you have any of the new paint leftover maybe try blending into the fenders and cowl.
Love this channel, love the father son duo! Amazing life skills to learn, they will be invaluable for the rest of your life. My dad taught me, and I thank him for it everyday. I’m teaching my daughters, so they can be strong independent women.
Jack reminds me of me when I was a teen. My dad and I repainted my first car, 1960 Dodge Dart convertible (red) in the garage when I was 17. There was red dust from the over spray in that garage 25 years later when they sold the house. I've painted a few cars since then - always outside. On a calm dry day, it works out pretty well.
Be proud of yourself for your first real spray job you did great. Like anything every job you do will get better. Just remember your learning. I think you made Kevin proud that you took what he taught you and are using it.
Jack your paint skills are evident and I think you should paint the rest of the truck. Do a little at a time or take the truck to a paint shop that can scan the color of the original paint. You can then repaint the hood to match. I have gone this route on two cars that had faded paint. The shop mixed a almost perfect match to the faded paint. The person who mixed the paint should have suggested trying this method. Good luck with the Ranchero when you get to it. I know your desire to finish your truck. I had a 72 Ranchero GT that both my wife and I loved. The 351 Cleveland was powerful and we had some wide tires on the back. It set up in the rear and looked mean. It was brownish-gold and had the orange decal from the nose to the tail.
Jack that hood came out AWESOME man. You worked very hard on it and it shows. I think the Ranchero is going to turn out AWESOME to. Thanks for the video guy's 👋
Nice Job guys!!!! Thanks for the shout out!! looks like you took home some good skills from the Paintucation class!! Eveery time you pull the trigger, you'll learn more! keep on painting! That Ranchero is calling you! :)

Yea a son and Dad any one would be proud to call friend or family!
That is a *huge* improvement in the truck's looks. Never have understood all the guys yammering on about worn-out paint, AKA "patina".
It's a great driver. It doesn't need to look perfect to be perfect!
Great work! So exciting to see it coming along!
