I had commented on the first posting of the video. I really enjoy your videos, keep it up. It looked to me on an earlier view of your route that you are coming through southeast MO into KY. They have closed the bridge over the Mississippi River at Cario IL until nextOctober. There is a bridge about 40 miles north at Cape Girardeau MO. I don't have social media so can't contact you any other way but would like to help if I can we you get to Missouri.
Congratulations on dreaming up you Rite of Passage. All young people could benefit from a journey such as yours. Sharing yours is a great way to encourage your brothers and sisters to experience their own. You stay strong and know that God is protecting you and your horses. I will keep following your progress.
Route finding sounds like a challenge. I’ve read many books about such journeys- by horse, by camel even. Across Australia. From Mexico to Canada. From South America to DC. Etc. I watched one series about a man who rode from the West Coast to the UN. Long hours alone at a human pace- it gives you time to think and observe and be present in a different way. Wishing you a safe journey.
Nah man. Must disagree on the "route finding" being a challenge. Not in todays world.. with updated maps, computers, and updated technology in general. At least in the USA its EASY. Google Earth and Maps are pretty incredible. But even if you didn't have them - U.S.G.S. have any and every map &&& National Geographic has a badass map program too for the computer. That particularly has an awesome route making tool. {i printed maps using both, USGS & NAtGeo, for backcountry expeditions/treks in Alaska... loved that Nat Geo route tool tho.. It would do like a POV walk/fly thru for your route... which was super useful... especially seeing elevation "ground level" and seeing how rough it could possibly be (or even vegetation, waterways like small creeks, etc)...anyway highly recommend that Nat Gep map program..}
This is an awesome series so far. I just saw your journey was completed a few weeks ago, and while sad I can't follow along, It reminds me of my own journey this year. I left North Carolina, and for the first time in my life made the trek to Texas, which was a dream destination of mine.(and it was everything I imagined, can't wait to go back!) From there, I drove north through the panhandle, into the steppes of Oklahoma and Colorado, and on towards the rockies. Worked as a hand on a ranch in Colorado, loved it, but the owners weren't very experience and kind of neglected their sick calves. I left and headed back down to Texas. Now I'm in PA. I miss the west. What shocked me the most, being from NC. I love how short the trees are in Texas, and what people call Flyover country out in Oklahoma and Colorado, Flat, vast, emptiness...I loved it. It was beautiful I always heard Denver was the mile high city, but I didn't know that it sat at the base of the rockies, not necessarily in them. I hope to make another journey to Texas, with intent to never leave. Glad you made it safely to your destination, friend!
Hi Jake Longest ride I have ever taken in 1 day a little over 20 miles during elk season couple of years ago in Idaho. I could barely get off the horse my knees were so sore. You make it look easy..... Be safe...
Wow Jake I am proud of you. I didn't know you were so good when I stopped and gave your horses some grass on 160 Colorado. Good luck my friend. A friend sent your videos to me after I told her the story. God bless and say hi to Eddie, Bella and Denver. You need anything just let me know. Great example of what you can do.
So great to hear about all the wonderful people who are helping you along the way. This country is full of people like that, so I'm sure you'll meet many more. Thanks for sharing your adventure!
hey my good friend, the places you visit are great, I hope everything goes well for you, I always pay attention to your content, big hug from a distance, I appreciate you, I hope to see you again at some point.
Im glad i recently found your channel. What an awesome adventure you are taking. Ive never really been anywhere in the US. I am excited to see the places you travel thru. Thanks for showing me more of America. I am going to watch every video. This is a very unique journey that nobody does anything like it. Best of luck! God bless you my brother.
Thought about you yesterday. So glad you and the horses are doing well. I am also happy that so many Good Souls are helping you along the way. Are you sleeping good??? Glad those dogs were not a problem. God Bless 🎉You Jake and your horses. Hugs.
Keep after it Jake. Awesome to see you doing this. You may not remember me. I ran into you up just south of strawberry while I was hunting in my side by side. Hope things keep going well.
So blessed with wonderful people to give you some special treatment!! Glad the dogs didn’t harm you or the horses. Thanks for sharing your once in a lifetime experience!!!
Jake, blessings for your journey! My daughter and her husband have rescued Mustangs from the BLM, and they also are heading up TIP challenges here in Michigan. Admire you, and what you're doing! I just read, " The Ride of her Life", the story of Annie Wilkins, who in 1954 rode her horse from Maine to California! Check it out when you can. God bless!
Just found your channel and I’m watching this whole series. I don’t have the experience to do something like this but you give me the inspiration to do it. I grew up reading penny novels and this reminds me of the feeling those would give me
Beautiful country Jake. It’s great to follow your adventure. You are amazing. I’m excited to see what Colorado brings to you. I have a brother who lives in Windsor Colorado. Best wishes!
Another great video man. I’m really enjoying your journey. Have you thought about doing a video on your saddles, tack and other equipment choices? Anyway great job!
Jake, I just found your channel today. I love what you’re doing. I think it’s really special. It’s kind of like going back to a different time. You are walking in the steps of/having some of the experiences frontiersmen and Wild West people experienced. Living history. Your respect and love for horses, especially wild mustangs here, is apparent. Wishing you and your mustangs well on your journey. Safe travels. Your journey has rekindled my wanderlust. -Christa from Southern California
I'm so proud of you Jake!! And your horse's. So glad their are kind people helping you and your horse's along the way. I will continue to pray for you and your horse's safety. What an exciting journey, I look forward to your videos ☺️
Gosh it seems like you enjoy a night and then hit the road. It also seems like your provisions are by happenstance. I’m guessing you planned ahead. Though with your faith maybe you aren’t planning ahead. Regardless of my musings at this post trek time, you seem to be doing well. Thankful for your mission.
Awesome journey, I wish I had found it a few months earlier. Too bad you won't be going through Michigan. I'd love to he able to bring you some hay and water and shake your hand
Why are you using chains? Why not just ropes? That way you could loose a ton of weight and greater length rope means your horses could graze in a bigger circle.
the third horse is attached to the second using a breakaway hitch so if something goes wrong, a hard jerk from one will separate them from each other. Great question!
We always take Sundays off no matter what. We sometimes take other days off depending on where we're at, if other things need to be done like shoeing or resupplying or if we've been through a difficult stretch. Great question.
@@jakeharvath Oh that's 🙂 nice. I love that you are using Mustangs! They are the best horses imo. Have big hearts and great feet! I hope you have ppl that always know where you are since you are traveling alone. Happy Trails! 🐎🤠
Thank you for sharing your experiences with different people who cross your path. Seeing such kindness is a blessing to my heart!

Totally digging the support of those along your journey Jake! Colorado should be dandy!
Quite the find that first campground in Colorado
Yeah, I was pretty stoked about it and very grateful it was empty. Colorado turned out to be one blessing after another!
You're doing great on your journey. I hope you don't catch anymore surprise dogs inside of a culvert pipe!
You and me both! 😀

This video just posted last Saturday. The horses and I are doing great and thanks for asking.
@@jakeharvath awesome 👌 glad you're all doing good. Still keeping you guys in my prayers 🙏
How do you know where you are going? Things are will get dangerous east of the Miss. Did you not really read Jeff Spivey?
Are you coming through Oklahoma? If so we might have a place for you to stay.

Rookie question: do you pony with 2 lead ropes or is the 3rd horse attached to the second?
the third horse is attached to the second using a breakaway hitch so if something goes wrong, a hard jerk from one will separate them from each other. Great question!
Did you give the horses a day off once a week or...?
We always take Sundays off no matter what. We sometimes take other days off depending on where we're at, if other things need to be done like shoeing or resupplying or if we've been through a difficult stretch. Great question.
