- On October 10, 2021, Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a disturbance call in Sparta, WI. The caller reported her boyfriend was destroying her place and took her truck. A deputy attempted a traffic stop, however, he fled and crashed the truck into a creek. Deputies searched the area and were unsuccessful in finding him. They returned to the caller's residence to explain the situation but another individual happened to show up there as well...

The cop meant: “everything you did and that we can find the evidence for”. Perfect answer! The police is there to make the arrest and to collect the evidence and make the interviews, not to bring charges.

It was late October. It looked like the crops had already been harvested and all that was left were the stalks where they were cut off.

That was a harvested corn field, corn is harvested late in fall after just about everything else. So it was either late fall after everything had been harvested, or early spring before it sprouted. All I saw being run over was some rowen, or late summer hay grown after the first and second cuttings.

Something that I saw and loved, was the officer searching the crash scene made sure to put himself between the public and the scene. This officer does genuinely care about the safety of the people. Hats off to him

Running from the cops takes fitness. I use to do it sometimes when I was way younger. I'm still super fit but being 30... Not worth it. Glad I learned before getting caught. Slowest vehicle I used was a Miata once. Fastest was a Yamaha but I wrecked and had to run into the forest. Sucked. Luckily my friend was not mad at me for getting hit bike taken by the police.

I love how helpful everyone is. I live in Texas and even in most nice areas people wouldn't give a second of their time to a cop. I make sure to say hi and chat with 'em a bit if they have time. I talk to people for a living, so I'm not terrible at it. They're always really nice and amicable people. Heck, the once or twice that I've been arrested (not paying tickets when I was younger, I'm a bit less stupid now) the officers were extremely friendly. I was little more than a boy and quite distraught over this cruel twist of fate, and I asked the arresting officer if he thought I was a bad guy. He said, "no, you seem like a good kid that made a bad decision. You live and learn." Later, another cop was hanging around the jail with some of his buddies and they were doing a small BBQ in a courtyard or something. He offered me a burger, something I'll remember until the day I die. It was delicious 🤣

I live in Texas as well and got stopped by a cop twice one night when all I was doing was walking. The first time he stopped me he asked what I was doing and I told him I was just taking a walk, he was really persistent about giving me a ride but he made me uncomfortable and I said I was fine and walked away. He stopped me with another officer on another street and got out of his car and questioned me and searched my purse and asked for my Driver's license when I wasn't even driving. I am actually kind of afraid of cops now. I used to thank them for what they do. I thanked one cop a month ago and then he ended up questioning my daughter after I'd just dropped her off at work because she has the same hair color as someone who did something wrong across the street from her workplace. I've thought about taking my town police department to court for harassing me and my daughter. Smh!

That's an admission of guilt if ever I heard one. I just hope they read him his rights.
Spontaneous utterances are admissible in court when no interrogatory questions are asked.
Now if those statements where made in response to a question asked by the police then it would be inadmissible. However only two questions where asked by the police. First, "why didn't you?" in response to Kris saying he could out run the police. Second, "what happened to your nose?" when Kris denied crashing the F150. The only one that the prosecutor may have wanted to use with the question about his nose. However, with how damning this whole event is and the amount of evidence against Kris that question alone is not going to make or break the charges.
With that said. I'm no lawyer and this is all an interpretation of the laws I've read looking into this.

The so-called "Miranda Warning" is not required to be read to an arrestee unless they are going to be questioned regarding a specific crime. All the things this guy said to the police on body camera is admissible in court because he made these statements freely, and was not being questioned at the time of the arrest. If they are going to question him about the original offense (domestic battery), then they WILL be required to advise him, and he will have the right not to answer any questions, and will have access to a lawyer. Had this ass clown simply said; "why were you chasing me? I don't know what you're talking about. I want a lawyer", and then just kept his big mouth shut; he would have been doing the smart thing.
But as we can tell from his beer gut; he is not the soundest brick in the wall.

As Kris's attorney, my client denies all the charges. The stolen/crashed vehicle with his fingerprints on the steering wheel. Someone had stolen his fingerprints earlier that evening. My client, a fitness enthusiast, was out on a midnight run preparing for an upcoming marathon, is being harassed by law enforcement. BRAVO officers got your man and after a car chase and foot chase, no one else was injured. Rule of Thumb, 5% cause 95% of the problems?

Don't know what else they are going to do, unless it is "well, guess we'll have to let him go, that water looks pretty wet". I wouldn't even want cops who are like that. I do applaud him for being the one ready to take the initiative to do it so the others didn't have to. I am more disappointed in his teammate who let him go alone after the guy because he didn't want to get his shoes wet. What if the other unit got attacked and hurt or killed in the woods?

When I was a kid there were a few times I got shocked with an electric fence we had. It wasn't horrible, but then one day it happened while I was sweating and it almost knocked me down. I just remember things went dark for a split second. Anyway, I can't imagine a taser in wet clothes.

What's funny is when you just comply with the cop's instructions to do whatever, things don't really get so bad for you. I watched a video the other day where a guy was arrested but he was being honest and cool with the cops. The funny part was there were things the cops could have added to the charges, but because the guy was cool calm and honest they didn't even consider those illegal things. They even apologized for having to arrest him because it was a computer thing when they ran his name. They were real helpful to the guy and even helped him make a call for posting bond so he could go to work the next day. Weirdest thing is the guy was black and the cops did nothing racist against him. It was his willingness to be chill and honest with the cops that made things go smooth for him. I'll never understand why people make it worse for themselves by fighting with the cops. Note that I don't automatically back police on everything, hell even a lot of things. My point is cooperate and then take whatever legal action is appropriate. Don't try to fight em' on the side of the road.

I worked in a county jail for three years and being cool extends to there as well. Some dude got arrested comes in and is chill, lets me do my job without any lip service, here dude make all the free calls you want have some cold water and a sandwhich if i have one. Wanna be a dick? I won't even show you how to set up the phone, oh it won't let you call? That's crazy, step in the cell.
Most of the time. I’m cool with cops and I know some good ones but state police WILL smoke you for no reason. You could look like the guy that stole his girlfriend junior year of high school and all of the sudden your keys are taken and you’re in jail for a false DUI. Nothing in your system or anything. Happened to me before. I still try my best with them though, there isn’t a way of being an A hole that works with them. Best to just be nice

My honor, the defendant is a good guy, he poses no flight risk, he just wants to be reunited with his friends and family and continue the good life he had drinking and having fun with his buddies.
