I was thinking of taking out the back seats and front passenger seat to see if I could make a camping vehicle(I don’t have a bed cap just a roll cover. I wonder if the have an extension to the platform that would go all the way to front dash on passenger side to accommodate the possibility of sleeping .
This is freaking awesome! That kit looks amazing, likes its OEM. I normally have my Husky with me all this time and this would be perfect for him to be able to chill in the back seat area. Could put a rubber cargo liner back there so he wouldn’t slide around and be easier to clean out. I think I just found my birthday gift.
Does this affect the range of movement for the front seats at all? I want to make sure I can still put my driver seat all the way back so I can fit in my taco.
Interesting. I would like something that is old dog friendly. Just a plain flat floor that isn't lifted. He has a hard time jumping up. The lack of a flat backseat floor has kept me from buying one. The Ridgeline is the only one I see that is flat when it comes to smaller trucks.
Ok this is super raw!!! I hot a 2015 Tacoma and i typed in how to remove the backseats and turn it into a box for some subs and this popped up. Is there anyway to basically do what y’all did with the goose gear while still turning it into a box???? What exactly was this made for ? To add room?
Looking to take that rear panel off on my access cab, gotta look to see if it’s the same but I’m looking to install a molle panel. Thinking of just running some screws through it to secure it
Is there any logical reason to remove the stock storage bin that will keep things better than when removed. Just remove the lid to it and you get to keep the good bin under the Goose Gear....?
I wish these people included a mid gate to open up the rear of the cabin to the truck bed to haul longer stuff without them hanging off the truck floor.
I have a Wednesday morning appointment to get this stuff installed, but I'm trying to remove the seats before I get there to save on labour costs. I'm thrifty, okay? haha. Wow, was that back panel was on tight. I almost needed help from the Incredible Hulk to rip it off. Christian makes it look so easy.
Great vid! Have you guys ever tried it heard of fabricating a new center console piece? The console would be flush with the lid of the cavernous console, it would delete the useless wireless charger, and would require a shifter extension. The idea is to have all the light & accessory switches at finger reach, and to better distribute the empty spaces. Console would start from the USB charger and ECT area (those would be relocated to the new console)
You don't think $1400 plus tax shipped for the complete system is overpriced? Consists of 4 small pieces of plywood, a bag a screws, and some spray on bedliner. Wish I had your wallet!
Hi, I recently installed the 40% delete in my 2005 Taco. I had to make a few modifications throughout the project. I still use my rear seat for passengers from time to time so the complete system would not work for me. Overall this item is awesome. It took less than an hour in my cramped, poorly lit apartment building garage it install. However there are a couple of things that are still troublesome enough to keep this project from being 100% done. Do you know the thread size of the holes that are left for (I assume) additional accessories? I would like to mount a MOLLE panel or other items on the back. Furthermore, I was not able to install the left-side top (closest to the bed) bolt on the bottom section. It simply would not go in and I did not want to force it and risk cross threading. Is there a trick to this that I am missing? The original bolt is a step style with a tapered and threaded tip. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!
Hi Matthew - we don't have our Tacoma available here to check at EPIC right now. I'd give the fine folks at Goose Gear a call and they can certainly help you out. 844-466-7334 Cheers!
I just completed something similar in my Tacoma Crew Cab. I used ½” baltic birch plywood. The back was attached to existing threaded locations. To attach D-rings I used insert nuts into the plywood.
Looks to be a well engineered product. But, It would be much better if it was made from a composite material. The edge at the top by the rear window looks to be unfinished. Lastly, the sides, from bottom of the delete to the floor are open, makes it look incomplete. If Goose Gear would address what I consider problems, I would seriously consider purchasing one. BTW, not bashing the Epic crew, they did a great detailed install video and it was also informative.
I’m not sure I like the over extension beyond the seat shelf. You lose floor space. Sure they added some extra doors they give access to the floor, but it is not a secure compartment because you can see underneath from the side. Fantastic idea for some people. The flat surface looks great. I like the locking doors. The $1000:price tag seems about 30% too high. Looks like some major effort went into the plan/work though. Even if the seats can slide all the way back I don’t like giving up that small amount of floor space.
I was also wondering about the possibility of switching the 60 and 40 seats. I have a son and have to have him sit in back rear passenger seat as he’s young . That is the 60 % seat and is more than too big for him. I want to switch the driver side passenger 40 seat to that area and keep the rest of back open for cargo and maybe mod a storage cabinet for my tools. Can it be done? I haven’t removed anything yet as I frequent drive my son around so I don’t want to take out seats and not be able to put them back in time. In your professional opinion could that be done?
Out of curiosity how much weight does this add or subtract? Would love to do this mod for more room for the dogs when traveling however I also needs seats for SAR work? Oh decisions! Thanks for posting and yes it is a magical beard!!!
Hi Kitt, the plates are not all that heavy. And you can do just the 40% or the 60% part of the seat instead of the whole thing, thus having some rear seating with some extra storage space!
Deff seems like a good option. But i wonder if itll be sturdy enough for a 60 lb dog to stand, walk, and lay around on. deff would rather have a flat surface for him instead of him tearing up seats
Yep, we do this mod for people with big dogs all the time. With our setups, we have large fridges full of food on top of the Goose Gear plate... heavier than 60lbs ;-)
I've sat on mine and crawled all over it, etc....I'm 260lbs...it did fine. I also have two dogs, one that is 60lbs and one that is pushing 80lbs and they're both back there together all the time. works great
I recently bought this but it seemed like it was lacking some of the mounting equipment when i recieved it, a small metal joiner plate that bolt the 60% plate and 40% together. Can i reach out and get this?
The floor plates sit right on top of the storage compartment frame. If you lift up the bottom of your seats and then pop the plastic rivets that hold down your under seat lockable compartment, that metal frame under there is how high they will sit. Hope that helps. You can see near the beginning of the video what we're referring to. Cheers!
It's nice and all but not over $1,200 nice.... Even with lumber and hardware at an all time high price you can do the same kit for less than 200$ I guess if you have absolutely 0 carpentry skills and plenty of money to blow this is a great option. I personally just removed the rear seats, trimmed and painted a 1/2" sheet of plywood in bed liner, wrapped the bottom in tool box liner to reduce noise, trimmed it and bolted it to the floor. Used some cheap swivel rings and bolted them to the floor, added 2 small acces doors to get to the lower compartments using cheap hinges. Cost me just under $200. Sure it doesn't look as pretty as this product but for a tenth of the price ill take it any day
Its not MDF, look closer it is probably Baltic Birch or similar which might be 1/2 inch and 9 plys. Very good plywood for design and build. The spray on coating looks like a propriatary LineX type of coating.
The broke mopes in the comments kill me. 😂 Now, a question for the adults: I will definitely be adding dynamax sound deadening to the back wall and floor. Is there any advantage to applying it to the back of the Goose Gear panels, too?
but...why not just buy a 4 runner? have seats and an interior cargo space? I swear I don't get people that buy a truck then change its function with 20k worth of stuff to end up with a different truck or SUV....why not just buy an access cab? I mean the product looks great I just dont get why people do this?
follow up, holy heaven on a biscuit 800 dollars for a plate across an access cab? with half of it made from a step above particle board? no thank you, I will cut my own and spray the surface with bed liner, that way it wont be made from IKEA wood, and even if I put hydraulic doors with fancy hardware on it it wont come out above 300 bucks.
a 4Runner does not have an open cargo space that's separated from the cab space. First thing I did to my first double cab Tacoma 6 years ago was to take the rear seats out. This is a super-overly expensive way to address a cleaner look for anybody who doesn't need the seats.
Fits perfectly rear-facing in our truck, which has a slightly smaller back seats. ruclips.net/user/postUgkx6_FKRYB2ClSPRyjcd8HptiCS3EiQoNX4 Feels as comfy and plush as our Graco Contender carseat
Or you can save $1000 and just fold the seats down.....then when there is more than two people ,move your crap to the bed and load the family or friends. Seems like a work truck only mod
This would be the perfect time to sound proof your Tacoma!
For some bass! Lol
Yes, my excitement level is off the charts. My Tundra is lusting for this.
What the heck happened to the Gingers ring finger?!
Ginger with fine finger dexterity lol.Epic

That sounds like an interesting idea, however Goose Gear doesn't offer anything to replace the front passenger seat! Would be cool tho!
This is freaking awesome! That kit looks amazing, likes its OEM. I normally have my Husky with me all this time and this would be perfect for him to be able to chill in the back seat area. No, I just checked mine and there's about 2 inches to spare with my seat back all the way.
Wish you had this for the Gen4
Do you have a video for the access cab?
Can u use the 60%platform and the 40%oem seat so I can have my dog on one side and my kid/car seat on the other ?
So just out of curiosity you don't have to do the whole seat? I would only want a portion of the back seat. Also no drilling holes in the truck right?
Give us material variations!,,aluminum, steel, heavy duty synthetics,,that’s one hardcore ginger 🤘🏻
Shag carpet?
Interesting. I would like something that is old dog friendly. Just a plain flat floor that isn't lifted. He has a hard time jumping up. The lack of a flat backseat floor has kept me from buying one. The Ridgeline is the only one I see that is flat when it comes to smaller trucks.
And the Ridgeline has a lower flier anyway because of the lower ground clearance =easier for the dog to get in
If a beared ginger is unavailable , what's a good alternative?
Uhmm.... a non-bearded Ginger?
@@EPIC-4WD let's just say all gingers disappeared due to overexposure to the sun... would a brunette suffice?
Is it very hard to sell the removed seats anywhere?
Ok this is super raw!!! I hot a 2015 Tacoma and i typed in how to remove the backseats and turn it into a box for some subs and this popped up. Is there anyway to basically do what y’all did with the goose gear while still turning it into a box???? What exactly was this made for ? To add room?
I want those seats for my 2019 Tacoma utility package
Same lol
Looking to take that rear panel off on my access cab, gotta look to see if it’s the same but I’m looking to install a molle panel. Thinking of just running some screws through it to secure it
Sounds like a plan. Could work!
Can you just use the back panels without the bottom plate?
Nope. The back panels mount to the bottom plate.
What's good about having the access doors if your sh*t is just gonna fall to the floor? Am I missing something here?
Is there any logical reason to remove the stock storage bin that will keep things better than when removed. Just remove the lid to it and you get to keep the good bin under the Goose Gear....?
I have the same question.
Do you know the height from platform to ceiling?
Great video - sure would like to see video of 3rd gen access cab 2nd row seat delete plate system With factory seats?
I wish these people included a mid gate to open up the rear of the cabin to the truck bed to haul longer stuff without them hanging off the truck floor.
How many inches is it wide from door to door. Can someone sleep in the back that is 66 inches?
This video has inspired me! ✨ gonna take everything out tomorrow and let equipt1 install it. Thanks
Awesomesauce!
I have a Wednesday morning appointment to get this stuff installed, but I'm trying to remove the seats before I get there to save on labour costs. I'm thrifty, okay? haha. His majestic ginger beard gave him the strength 😅!
1) It's a beautiful kit ... looks totally factory! 2) Keep everything, as the next owner may want the back seats.
When is the Epic Crew going to make one of these kits for the new Ford Rangers?? I could use one for the supercab model.
Hey Sam! Call Goose Gear and tell them to design you one!
Do you happen to have a GG rear seat delete kit for an ‘06 Ford 150 ?
If I had the cash this would be one of my nexts mods. it looks great in the in the truck! Really cleans up the back and makes it look good !
Great vid! Have you guys ever tried it heard of fabricating a new center console piece?

I have an 02 extra cab. I'm guessing this won't work for that?
hey if anyone is doing this I'd be interested in your seats, i got a 2021 black/gray cloth seats and need all rear seats
They need to make this for full-size trucks.
Hey guys, love this idea! Is it possible to only do the smaller seat in back with your product!?
Yes, you can do just the 60 or the 40 rear seat delete while leaving the other side.
Looks really good, just wish they made one for an 03 tundra
Contact Goose Gear and make a request!
I’m really surprised about the price so many Tacoma accessories are over priced! I might have to pick this bad boy up 🤘
So true
the price on the website is for one side only, its double if you want to do the whole back seat, that 1k
wambolt1212 makes you say fuck this and build your own Lmao

How much weight do you save by deleting rear seats?
Not sure, but we'd guess it's a wash between the seats and the Goose Gear plates, weight-wise.
3:37 in EU you will fail MOT if your vechicles passport says 5 seatbelts and you've removed the rear ones. the seats they don't care about that much
Can I do just the 40% seat and back?
You can!
This is awesome. I will definitely be doing this in the near future
Yeah it frees up so much room!
The vacuum guy did an awesome job, thanks for hiring the handicap
What happened to the Ginger guy's ring finger @7:58?
Either he was playing too close to electricity or a Nasty Divorce.
Would like to know the dimensions
what's the total width of the tow base pieces combined?
What if I don’t have a ginger and only have a dandy?
Does anybody know if front seat are still capable of moving to its rear most position with this upgrade?
I called Goose Gear and the gentleman said they can slide all the way back but the total recline will be impeaded
2:05 Holy crap LOL!!! Now that's funny!
gingers majestic beard is truly majestic. I could never in this lifetime grow anything on my face
Yes many have tried... many have failed ;-)
Do you ship to the states?
How much is it for complete setup?
Hmmm🤔 could I just buy the 40% (behind the driver)
You bet!
What if I don’t have a ginger?! 🤣
Should’ve left seats out so u can do high 16’s on 1/4
