I only discovered your channel about a month ago. I'm still playing "catch-up" on your videos but this one is going to be hard to beat. I think you will probably have received your new Robust in some of the uploads I've already watched and am delighted you got it through Carl. I've been following him for about 5 years. Many thanks, Alan.
+Alan Simpson Thank you Alan, yes Carl is a great guy. we have talked back and forth on the phone and he has help me with my videos a lot. I have learned a lot from him. Thanks for your comments and for watching my videos. Tommy
Great piece of intricate work there - it sometimes takes some time for designing something so good -- maybe a strengthening internal pin/ rod next time might aide. Trent/ Australia
This rolling pin looks fantastic. Love the lady bugs and they were simpler to make then I though, so much so that I might just have to find an excuse to make some of my own!! Thank you for Sharing Tommy!
I haven't made a rolling pin yet but it strikes me odd that it wouldn't be made flat in the "working" section, the middle 10" or so. If not, it seems like it would be thinning the dough unevenly?
an Italian rolling pin is 30m inches long with tapered 5 inch ends so when rolling your hand does not stop the pin. Also very good to discipline the bambinos.
you can use beeswax and mineral oil. think thats what most wooden cooking tools use like chopping boards and such. i bought a 1 dollar french rolling pin and sanded with 600 then finished with that. cant go wrong
Yes, I did this one for a customer up north. It is custom made for that man who is a chef. Let me know what you want from my website @ www.tommyakridgedesigns.com
So Nice Amazing Work

Where did you get the purple heart wood from if you don't mind me asking
Didn't realize that . I am not artistic at all. Wish I was as talented as you.
Very nice Tommy , how long did it take you from start to finish .
+Stan Judd You know, I worked on and off on it and with the drying time of the glue, I would say it was 3 days. Thanks for watching

+Phil Rusciano thanks for the info. I will keep that in mind when I make another.
Stunning, what did you use to shine it up like that
it was walnut oil

Great job Tommy! You know that none of us woodturners can ever show this video to our wives {:o)
+Happy Handyman Thank You!
Hey Captain ! … Why French ???… Are the 2 skulls elated to "French" ?…
Nice work.
The style of pin is French style. Also, those are ladybugs, thanks for watching
Hey there Tommy, what did you charge to do this piece?
+Danny Branch $50 to $100
What's the wood at 12:48?
30 mins to make a stick WOOOOT! lol
.?
If you want to watch someone use a skew go to woodturner21. He is a master!
That was 2 years ago and I have really learned how to use it now
Not so smart to making a rolling pin. Now you also have to bake cake.😉
