  • This entire project is an experiment. It ended with a spectacular cherry & resin french-style rolling pin, but the whole time I kept pushing the project to see what I could learn from it, not necessarily because I knew what I wanted in the end.

    I like this project very much. But more importantly I like that you are talkative and to the point explaining completely without any meaningless filler. It’s a terrible thing when someone creates a blow by blow construction video and they don’t say a word throughout the video. Thanks for a well done production from start to finish.

      Well thank you very much, I appreciate the feedback! I usually strive for giving information where it's needed, and letting the simple things speak for themselves. If I would have a question about a step, then I go ahead and answer it up front.

    Mark that rolling pin turned out just as gorgeous as it could possibly have turned out. From the resin, the wood grain and the overall finish. Just gorgeous. I picked up several tips, one of wich was laying down a cover on the bed of the lathe when finishing. I’m not sure why it hadn’t, but that’s an easy step to take before finishing. Also, can you believe it only took me about 30 minutes to repair my big truck? I so wish I’d had it at WBC.

    • @GunflintDesigns
      @GunflintDesigns  6 лет назад +2

      Thanks Jason! I was nervous about showing the people the tank because I don't want anyone taking it wrong and getting hurt. So my video is going to have more info about being safe with it than actual build information, because it is super easy to make!

    • @Nevir202
      @Nevir202 6 лет назад +1

      Gunflint Designs IMO, if safety is the number one concern, you could put the pressure vessel inside a larger vessel, then even if it failed catastrophically, the outer vessel, being much larger in volume, and not even necessarily sealed, couldn’t rupture.

    You did a great job on your rolling pin.you had several good ideas that I learned from. I made one a while back with a Celtic knot in it. Dropped it & it broke at one of the glue joints. Not only did I learn I need yo work on my glue joints but I decided to put a pin down the center as you did. I wish I had known your trick with the drill bit at that time. Would have been so much easier. I’m working on my first wood epoxy vase right now. I was wondering how to finish it. Think I’ll try applying a epoxy finish as you did. Using the radial arms fence, building a pressure vessel out of PVC pipe. You have a lot of innovative, helpful ideas. Thanks for sharing them.
