That and add the upgraded racing cams and I don't see why we cannot break the 300hp mark easily. Only question is can the stock cluth take 300hp. I personally have the fiat abarth. I've researched extensively on what's possible on this engine. If you have the money & time, I can share a link to some Italians putting 350hp to 425hp!! Fully built monsters! They're currently trying to break 500hp with a twin scroll down the road but machining the manifold & fitting everything in the engine bay seems to be a little challenging but it is being worked on as we speak!
This is like what a stock SRT-4 puts down with like 1000 less pounds, right? I like my 1.4T but man, is it a complete dog and a shame that SRT didn't ever touch the thing.
I've got the 2016 gt model with 2.4l engine. If i was going to do a turbo upgrade myself, what other components would you say are an absolute must to support that extra power?
For the basics you want stronger cams, stronger piston rods, and non-restrictive exhaust. Look into the ATI Super Damper to smoothen vibration. Fully straight-pipe (high flow cats, if you care about the laws) with diameter of 3 to 3.5 inch (if it's too wide the airflow will suffer). Extra stuff is to to upgrade your transmission clutch (manual) or pressure plate (auto) so you don't get slip. You can upgrade the fuel pump & fuel rail if you want fuel flow and intercooler obviously for cooling. At this point though you wanna think if it's worth dumping money into a 185hp engine when you can have a car that starts with 300 to 330+ like the Nissan VQ engines, or VR30DDTT or SR20
This vs a hopped up piece of shit dodge neon.. I'll take this lol. The 1.4 can reliably handle over 300 horsepower and that's good enough for economy car. And ain't nobody gotta drive around ina fucking neon 😳😂
