Hi Dony hope you don;t mind me jumping on this video, I checked and you don't have many hedge trimmer videos. I just used my Stihl HS45 Hedge Trimmer today. The blades got stuck and I pulled on the throttle trigger about 3 or 4 times it would not move the baldes. Then I noticed the blade was caught on a bit of wire fence. I pulled it out and it was back to normal except it immediately now starts making a rattle noise when revved what has caused the rattle please? EDIT: Someone has suggested filing the burr off the blade. There is a burr and I will file it off and see if it fixes it.
I like these tools a lot but what most people don’t realize are that these Vampliers are rebranded Engineer pliers. Look at 1:08, it’s upside down but you can even see the “Engineer” brand name on the handle. I have the larger Neji-Saurus pliers and they are awesome. These 7.5 inch needle nose are $43 on Amazon but the same exact tool with green handle called the Engineer PZ-60 (193mm) is $28. So you’re paying $15 for a red handle.
Well, I guess I’m going shopping this weekend. I have two pairs of pliers in my tool box that I just hate using because they bend and twist… I think they are now going to be replaced!
I appreciate the detailed close up views of those pliers. They look like they would work well. My concern is that the grips appear to be quite detailed with slots and grooves. How hard is it to keep these clean? A smooth handle grip takes one wipe to remove grime. What has been your experience with these?
I haven't had to clean the handles because I only use them for screw extraction. Most likely a bit of compressed air would clean the slots quite easily
Okay the brute upgrade is news to me! I have most of their set....sesess since i work on boats the big papa one is my go too for most of my work getting the carburetors off
thanks for sharing this review. I would have likked to have had something like those lots od times over the years. I will be taking a look at them. Cheers
By watching your review videos for years, I have purchased most of the Vampliers including in this video. I also purchased two of their scissors which I believe you have reviewed and I agree with you, they are of good quality. But......, I had to buy mine....... Only kidding. Don from Milwaukee, Wisconsin USA
Checked them out. They are only in the US. The delivery to Canada is half their price of them. Could also be duty on them above this. Would like a pair but will wait to see if they become stock in Amazon Ca. In the past I have used vice grips to remove what they do. Thanks for showing these. I think they would be a great tool in my tool box
Hi Don, I enjoy watching your videos. I also think that the brand called Engineer is the same company, in case you cant find the vampire branded tools. For ex Engineer PZ-32 is the brute
Thanks for that review Mr Don ! Those seemed sort of gimmicky when I first saw them a few years ago. You’ve convinced me I should invest in some new pliers 😀
Ive ordered the pair of them but the exchange rate makes them very expensive for here in Australia, $170 AU delivered but I think they will be very handy on the small screws
Pro tip: The word "Engineer" is molded into the handles because that's who actually makes them. Buy them under that brand name and save yourself a few bucks.
Shop Tools; Show us the tire gauge you recommend and use in your shop, that's accurate enough for us as not to cost an arm and leg. Some recommend a 0 - 30 psi range???
Thats an early Briggs and Stratton carburetor, possibly from a Sears wood Chipper? I am saying that because I am trying to find parts for one right now. Having special pliers for special jobs can save your bacon when doing a job. I have several different types. I use a wide variety of Channel locks as well. As an RC Hobbiest, those pliers come in handy for repairing RC Planes and cars.
Gorgeous tools Dony but man are they pricey! I realize for a business they're more easily justified but for the weekend warrior like me perhaps not. If I spent $40 - $60 dollars or more on a pair of pliers I think I'd want to admire their beauty rather than dirty them. LOL Great video Dony and those are first class tools! 👍🏻👍🏻
I figured the Vampliers had to have some use when I saw Knipex started making their own version of the same thing 😁. Kind of a bummer they aren't lifetime warranty like so many other hand tools, but maybe these take more abuse than wrenches.
I get it they are cool by design and I have owned several pairs however the grippers on the jaws wear down after a few years of daily use. No way I’m paying 30-40 for a pair of pliers that only have a 4 year warranty. Dollar store tools have a lifetime warranty now days, I would definitely recommend encouraging them to re visit their warranty policy as it sucks for the price people are paying.
Well I use a Snap-On tools. The only thing I look for in a hand tool is a good pair of hemostats. Needle nose pliers who knows players. Sometimes you need to get into a job. With hemostats! Like a surgeon.
@@donyboy73 Yes, because I remember the first time you reviewed this supplier and I thought I might get a couple version. However, Brute would cost me $62.07 US with plier, shipping, fees and tax
I do believe you have used this brand before.......however it would have been more convincing if you whipped a pair out and showed us the actual pair or pairs you have been using. Complete with grease on the handle etc.
Take a pair of thin nose genuine vise grips, not Chinese copies. Carefully grind the tip down on a bench or surface grinder with a container of water right next to the grinder and dip often. Work slowly and carefully. You will be able to lock on and remove screws in locations these pliers wouldn’t be able to fit into. Made mine years ago and use them almost daily. Would not be without them.

You can't beat having the right tools for a job.

i never knew pliers like them existed thanks for the info
Looks good to me Don. There are tools and there are gadgets. Those are tools. Good ones. The same applies to the kitchen. Thank you for sharing.
Great video for comparison. Thanks

Vampliers have saved my butt more than once! Thanks for sharing
Japan Always Made Good Quality Items. I Still Have Things That I Had As A Kid Growing Up In The 60's And They Still Work.
Very cool. I like the grips

You're welcome!

Just the review I was looking for. Thanks, Don!

Those are nice looking pliers and some I could use in my collection and I am glad that they are not made in China.

I haven't seen those, didn't know about them
I need some of these.
Good day Yea they look good. I think I have watch you long to know when have a good product Thanks
no problems at all with them!
Thank you for sharing this tool review. ❤️🇨🇦
so many times l wanted to an tried to grab a head of a bolt or screw like that an fail - great idea
Thanks for that review Mr Don ! Those seemed sort of gimmicky when I first saw them a few years ago. You’ve convinced me I should invest in some new pliers 😀
not gimmicky at all!
I have the small pair. They have saved my bacon many times. Need to look at getting the larger size now
Ive ordered the pair of them but the exchange rate makes them very expensive for here in Australia, $170 AU delivered but I think they will be very handy on the small screws
What's the purpose of the notch between cutter and tip on the last two pliers? And what does it mean "ESD safe" on the black handled ones?
They have a great grip area. I will watch for them. Approximate prices would help.
Good tool rewiev, and in Japan they also make the best snow-blowers in the world, Honda, Yanmar and Yamaha
for sure!
Pro tip: The word "Engineer" is molded into the handles because that's who actually makes them. Buy them under that brand name and save yourself a few bucks.
Just ordered the larger needle nose
I use those branded Engineer
Knipex's have a new plier that can grip from the front and the side. Only about 38 bucks at summit racing.

I did recently pick one up, it is much easier to use on my own tractor, I can confirm.

A good pair of duck bill pliers they're hard to find.
A great set of those tools should have make your hands less tried after repeated use day in and day out be safe out there Young Man 😎
thanks Robert!

🗣Vampliers... Just in time for Halloween! 🍊😱
lol
"your're going to have them for life" until they sprout legs and walk off.
ahh yes I forgot about that lol!
A mechanic is no better than his tools,
But a tool is no better than the mechanic using it.
so true!
Nice tools but expensive
Good tools for the job, but cost an arm and a leg.

I'll have to look for a Norwegian supplier. If I were to order from their site, I would get wrecked on shipping and taxes...
that's unfortunate
