The way the House twists and changes definitely requires multiple playthroughs. It's incredible how much is in there, hidden, just waiting to be found!

Great video of a great concept. Not 100% sure if the existential nightmare of the rest of the story can beat the simple statement of Doom having come out 30 years ago though.

There was a similar WAD that was DOOMGuy having dementia and Chapter 1 went from normal to a chaotic and confusing nightmare.

It's strangely comforting to know that creepy pastas are still a thing nowdays and haven't died out completely. Also the editing really added to the atmosphere, didn't expect such quality from a smaller channel so props for that
The Cave Story music actually heightens a lot of the unease that this story brings. Great stuff.
Great video, I have not seen many people cover the story glad you did. This project is an amazing work of unfiction that not only comes with an interesting story taking major inspiration from house of leaves, it also manages to implement all of this elements in the mentioned map near flawless
I won't lie, when I downloaded this I went straight for the .pk3 and not the wad. Thus, I didn't see the journal entries. Reading them now a lot of the areas in this map make so much more sense.

pretty good replication of the style of one of the narrator's of House of Leaves too. As a huge fan of that book Myhouse.wad makes me blush.

i kept getting vids about this map in my recommended, didn't realize why lol, i'm so glad to see people are still into haunted game stuff like ben drowned (though i'm sure it might be more akin to house of leaves but i still haven't had the time to read that)
but what i also love is your video, no dumb editing/jokes, simple avatar and b-roll, would be sick if you were an unfiction channel but i assume there aren't that many doom unfiction stories out there lol, got a new sub and i hope you keep earning them from this video
I really appreciate that! I’m a huge fan of unfiction and ARGs, and noticed this one wasn’t getting much attention outside of the Doom community. I don’t usually do videos like this, but I felt MyHouse deserved it.

I went in blind, as all real men do, and i thought it was just a cute little map from a passed on friend.
Then the music changed EVER SO SLIGHTLY, and i thought "oh, they must have expiremented with the midi files"
Then the front door disappeared.

Its pretty interesting seeing these things and how they tie in with the narrative of the map. There are still unanswered questions however like how in the mirrored realm there are murders in the gas station. Could make an interesting video.
Always knew SCP-079 could run doom, even comes with some wads too!

this is definitely one of my fav maps that came out recently, the whole map and everything surrounding it (the arg and other story related stuff) is structured so brilliantly, unlike any other mods ive seen before

First time I'm hearing of this map, and first time coming across your channel. Excellent video, you got my sub!
Looking over things again, noticed some more funky unfiction-related things going through Steve's Google Docs, namely the IRL photos. Some of them seem to be teases related to secrets in the map, while others could be part of the general mindscrewery:
-Three of the four photos seem to do the job of dropping hints about the routes in the map, though some of them beg questions about the reality of the actual house the map is based on. I can't see anything abnormal with the photo of the living room/kitchen, but the photo of the basement makes clear that there's a hideaway space where a bookcase is placed in the map, and for good measure shows a good dog. More peculiar though is the photo of the alcove of doors on the upper floor, which seems to include the second alcove that appears later in the map... the one that logically shouldn't exist. Then the photo of the cat on the bed seems to depict the north-most bedroom with the singular closet... though either there's a trick with the light, or the closest is remarkably gray, and vaguely looks like a hallway that may go fairly deep (five and a half minutes deep, perhaps?)
-The polaroid of the gas station's inclusion suggests a few questions, namely along the lines of its connection to Steve's dream and/or its true origin. Did Tom take it on a journey of his own, or did Steve? (and how did he have such a camera on hand in 2022 if that's the case?) What sort of directions was the photo-taker looking for? Could it be related to a certain spot in the area around the gas station that map players later track down?
-The obituary photo is perhaps the most interesting. Tom's memorial text is certainly interesting, and for very deep-dived players there's another piece to this paper that is even more evocative as far as lore logic, but if you bring your attention to the other memorialized people, take note of the dates: Though the woman in the top left seems to have an August 2022 death date as well, the woman below Tom, Catherine Philbaum, is described as dying January 12, 2023...5 months after Tom. This isn't very normal for obituaries to have such far-off death dates so close together, especially since Tom's obituary mentions his memorial service in future-tense, as usually meant to let people know to come to them. Whatever newspaper these come from is incredibly anomalous... bringing more questions to the other part of this page that can be found in the very endgame (which actually has another discrepant obituary; Norman Edward Penske, listed as dying February 18, 2023)

It's been a while since I saw this series(I mean ~8 months, not that long but w/e...), and will probably watch it again, but just wanted to say thanks for the video. Your series was the first I saw of myhouse, and it was the only one really around when I saw it (when it came out basically...), and in my mind you do a great job of walking through it, especially for it only being ~month old when you started the series. Not exactly sure where I'm going with this, but just wanted to say that I have you tied to this wad and, honestly, given everything that somehow works perfect for me. Thank you for the series and well wishes for the new year! The videos are amazing and I'm so happy to have seen this series first! ❤👋

Just some guy posting some weird things going on with his game on a forum (4chan in BD case) and the game gets more haunting and his mental state and journal reports get weirder and weirder

At the end of the day, MyHouse is not Doom. It's not very fun to play either, after the first few surprising twists the novelty wares off quickly. The whole thing is just a confusing mess for people who like to spend their time wandering and looking for vague clues, which in return tell them nothing, but might trigger the way for progression to the next confusing part, which makes these clues barely different from a regular key card. I'm actually very surprised how the Doom community gets so easily impressed by something as lame as this, it's 2023, and they're still in awe, while getting fooled by smoke and mirrors. Sure, the wad is artistic and impressively build, but overall, the majority of Doom players will quickly get tired of it, the problem is, before that happens they will overexaggerate and promote it to the moon. I don't even think it's worthy of a Cacoward, because there are so many other wads with impressive GZDoom trickery, which never get the attention they deserve... and they're actually fun to play, and won't leave you wandering like a rat in a maze for no good reason.
It doesn't have to be "fun". There is no rule stating that a Doom map must be "fun".
Why do even care what other people think of the wad? You're allowed to not like it and have your opinion of being confusing (Which I agree with there), boring (Which I disagree with), and "lame".
But saying that it's stupid people are impressed by it, saying that the "majority" who aren't you will or will not enjoy it (It's up to them), and making your tastes of "GZDoom Trickery" out to be superior isn't very cool.
