To this day I feel like no silent hill game nailed the atmosphere quite like this one with all its console limitation concessions. Fog never reaches this level of oppressiveness and the chain link fences never quite this rusty.

I really miss the transitions from this era. The later games transitioned in real time, and it's much less spooky then the impossible spaces the earlier games used.

Yeah, it's like I've always said the backrooms are creepy enough as just an environment the existential dread of contemplating eternity trapped in perpetual mind numbing discomfort putting monsters in it and giving you something to fight makes it less scary

Aw, and it's not my WAD called "Backdooms", which was the FIRST time ANYONE made a Backrooms-styled Doom map (yes, I beat Veddge to the punch). I once tried to make a fallout-style backrooms game in the gzdoom engine but due to my lack of talent I didn't get very far, one day when I become talented though I plan to come back to the idea

Even having played these games many times, I check the maps constantly just so as to make sure I check every room and don't miss any.

In regards to your comment on weapon damage, I might be misremembering but I believe gun accuracy and where you hit is dependent on how long you physically aim at an enemy. Also the red liquid is a completely optional item that can only ever be used at a single specific time.

My policy is not to spoil anything at all and not to give tips as much as I would like to sometimes. Games should always be an organic experience for the player their first time. The thing I like most about Silent Hill is just how strange the interactions are. The people you meet don't talk like normal humans but Harry doesn't react in any sane way either.

Fun fact, all the teachers at Midwich are named after members of Sonic Youth. That was in fact the Kim Gordon key.

MyHouse.wad may also tell the player the truth of what the ending is, in the most vague ways possible. We are told nothing good comes from a house fire. Both a gameplay hint, but possibly a hint that the secret in the house fire ending is a lie, or at least a red herring.

doom in pool backrooms gives me a nice idea with a campaign. buth with great visuals and looks. though hell may look different. never thought doom or wolfenstein in backrooms would work, lol. how do you make this idea?

The piano puzzle from the last video was notorious for being as far as most people would ever get in this game back in the day. So it's impressive you figured that out with out having to look it up.

If next gen console gaming doesnt look this good, its not even worth buying until it does. People would pay top dollar for a huge jump in graphics. We're already paying up to 2k for a phone

How is the graphics this good. I can not believe this is a video game now. I thought for a long time in my life that Mario 64 was the best looking game of all time. I'm amazed computers have come all the way to this.

Will there be Skulltag weapons?

It is very common for Silent Hill players to finish the game with a big surplus of ammo because they are afraid they'll run out and just kill everything with the steel pipe. This is the first time I see someone actually run out.

This is the best Backrooms!

This is delightful. As someone who has played this fifty times, it's fun to see how new players puzzle things out. Is the same thing that would happen putting me into any episode of Doom. I don't remember where monsters or items are, I've played that like one time.

Man I can't wait to see you attempt the infamous piano puzzle. I kept hearing about how difficult it was for years before playing the game and when I finally got to it myself, I solved it in seconds. The solution instantly clicked with me. I still gotta finish watching the back half of the previous though so, until then. EDIT: Okay I got to the point where you solved it, and I have one question: what was the title of the poem about the birds again?
