Its not a secret. Personality is how we deal with thoughts, feelings and behaviour. In a way its the mask we wear each day. Character on the other hand is being formed at a young age and is very resistant to change - ofc only if you actually have one.

I've never heard about the personality changing. This is an original idea or stated in an original way. To say your personality is constantly changing or capable of undergoing radical change is to say we really don't know who we are, or don't have the single identity we think we have which is probably why mentors and teachers, and others probably shy away from saying it, but I think it's a big revelation and helpful.

Everything you're saying here is 100% true, but it's really hard to break the bad habits until you hit a life changing event that forces you to stop. We're all being bombarded with distractions to stop us from reaching our potential.

This is sooo true. Coming from a person who has used that cop-out recently... I know from experience what Alex is saying is 110% true and factual. I served as a combat solid the Army and basic training for an infantry or combat MOS this is what they are basically doing. U get no sodas, no alcohol, no sugar (except maybe in a MRE 1 tootsie roll and our Drill Sgt took even those) Ur body is completely detoxed as well as pushed well beyond what ur mind used to tell u was possible essentially breaking u down and rebuilding u into a totally different person than the kid that the recruiter BSd into joining! U feel absolutely unstoppable and have laser focus and are able to preform tasks very few who haven't also undergone same or similar training can do. Now dang I have to take action and am ashamed how I've let myself become... 😖🤬 anyways thx AB. Needed to hear all this more than I'd like to admit. 🤝👍👍👍✌️

Thank you Alex I feel so lost and broken currently. Suffering from imposter syndrome and lack of purpose I'm 38 and unemployed.
Worked previously in IT over 13 years but guess I burned out.
I run a Mental Health community in my spare time have over 1.3k members but I'm putting on a mask I feel like I'm literally going nowhere....
Could really do with some help or guidance bros

I'd ask what are your hobbies/ how hard to you physically push yourself? When there isn't anything interesting external (money, girls, drugs, accomplishment, cars) you should try to go internal. Like optimistically and willingly suffering. When's the last time you had a 6-pack? I'm not saying this is a remedy but it's been personally helping me. When you finish your workout/ exercise and you want to enjoy those tacos/ cake ... just remember - You have to wakeup tomorrow and do the same damn thing. When you have this consistent goal there isn't room for 'loafing around'

Man you are so fucking right in what you say. I have seen this happening to myself. And I can't believe that I've let myself go once again. I've started to become complacent with the stuff I have already achieved, even though I have dreamt a lot bigger than this. I'll pick up the pace again. Thanks Alex.

This was my favorite video of yours so far. Lots of value in your other vids, but if people follow the advice in this video, it makes all of the other advice completely doable for just about anyone. I'm going to use your routine as a rough framework for my new routine. Thanks for sharing that man.

As i was watching this having a smoke, my astrology app threw a notificaiton at me that said "make a commitement", I've been weening my self of of weed the last month or so, but it's not been going where i wanted.
I needed to hear exactly this right now.
Especially the thing about alcohol, I stopped years ago, simply because the hangover was NEVER worth it to me, and it helps me reinforce that decision in social settings(where i struggle the most) to just say no.
    Thank you sir, truyl!

33 y/o, ADHD, long term relationship. at 26 I was doing all 4 things you mention plus more. Slowly quit all bad habits 1 by 1 (hardest thing I've done) and I can finally function and work. However, it's SO easy to fall back into something, I'll trick myself into "a couple beers is fine, I'm barely drinking anyway" or "I deserve this video game cause I've worked hard"... suddenly 3 weeks pass by and I've barely done any work, my house is a mess, shit is dirty, My sorcerer is lvl 70, and my girlfriend is mad at me and "I don't know why!"... it's hard to stay focused, cause almost every industry is out there to hijack your attention and sell you very fun and addicting stuff you don't need at all (alcohol, drugs, games, shitty food). Anyways, don't buy Diablo 4 guys!

This is great and something that I recently have experienced. Im SCARED to touch my PS5 right now, and am considering selling it. Gaining dopamine naturally through the real world is the most sustainable and fulfilling way. Having 2 pints of beer threw me off my routine last week (not completely, I still forced myself to do the habits - but not with as much emphasis and purpose), and i've been beating myself up - prior to this i had 4 straight weeks of killing it in everything that I was doing. Habits compound, and it only takes a small slip up for the house of cards to fall. Consistency is king, and i needed this reminder to keep me going.
    Thanks man.

You know, what you said at the start about your vacation that really made me think. People who are addicted to substances like nicotine or drugs quite literally give up all their dreams for some nicotine. The same is with other stuff you discussed in this video. Like videogames. It's those easy dopamine shots which get you hooked and make you trade your dreams and purpose for them. When you are disciplined and in the flow doing what's important to you becomes like breathing, but it's easy to drift off again such as a small vacation for example. So we need to be sharp on detecting such behavior and cutting it our or limiting it as much as possible.

tomorrow i'm deleting every single game and i'm going to start doing what i'm meant to be doing. you hit me real good with this one... i'm going to do it. actually DO it
